Inspiration, Hope, Happiness and Photos of St. Helen's Island, Final Series.

Hello dear friends and fellow bloggers! A very warm welcome to you all! I want you all to know how very much I appreciate your visits and kind comments! It really means a lot to me! Thank you so much!

In response to my last post, some of you had commented that you were surprised that cats are more popular than dogs. I wanted to stress that I think this may be because some landlords will allow cats more readily than dogs, because cats, if they are going to "destroy" anything, it will be our furniture and not the property itself, whereas dogs can sometimes destroy the property (the larger dogs).

Not only that, but I think as well that cats are generally quieter, so landlords who own apartment buildings, especially ones that are not soundproof, are more likely to accept cats, as sometimes dogs can bark or whine. Cats are generally more independent than dogs, so they don't usually have the same separation anxiety when the owners are not at home.

This is what I think, and this has been what some landlords have told me, so I am just mentioning this to give some food for thought. It isn't that dogs are less liked than cats, (in some cases they are), but are less accepted for the above reasons I mentioned. One last thing is that dogs need to be taken for a walk on a leash at least a few times a day. This is not easy for people with less mobility. Cats, they take care of this themselves as long as they have a clean litterbox.

The following photos are ones I took this month with my cellphone. These photos were taken at Jean Drapeau Park, Ile Ste-Helene, St. Helen's Island, in Montreal. You can click on each image to see a larger view. You can visit Expo 67 to learn more about this.

This photo is the last of the St. Helen's Island series!

The following last photos are ones I took on July 31st. This photo is of a Montreal city bus. Now, this one is special because it is red, rather than blue. You can click on any image, as always, to see a larger view. The reason this bus is red is because it is advertising a new shopping mall that opened here in Montreal last September...the mall is called the Royalmount. I took this photo at a bus terminal outside of a Montreal metro station.

Fortunately for me, another couple of Montreal city buses pulled up in front of the red one, in my above photo, which enabled me to take this photo, just to show you the typical blue colour of our Montreal city buses.

I took this photo just near the Westmount Park, in the city/borough of Westmount. Yes, I believe this is an actual working clock!

Same clock as above, only I attempted to get a closer shot.

Some flowers I saw in front of the Westmount Park. The flags you see...the blue one is for the province of Quebec, the red one is for Canada. There was a third one which I had trouble getting, could have been for Westmount, but not sure.

The following video is a Just for Laughs Gag (Juste pour Rire in French) done here in Montreal. Enjoy! :)

Enjoy a one-minute video of beautiful birds and bird sounds!

This last video is the World's First Mobile Phone (1922)
