Thoughts to Ponder, Nature

Hello dear friends and fellow bloggers! A very warm welcome to you all! Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to come and visit me here! I really appreciate you all so much!

Here are today's selections, which I hope will brighten your day!

Cats are inquisitive, but hate to admit it. - Mason Cooley

Eating and reading are two pleasures that combine admirably. - C.S. Lewis

                              Natural Life

Nothing in the nature lives for itself. Rivers don't drink their own water. Trees don't eat their own fruit. Sun doesn't give heat for itself. Flowers don't spread fragrance for themselves.
Living for others is the rule of nature.

Deep breathe. Forgot my troubles. Nature is my forever therapist.
                          The Heaven Home

A quiet secluded life in the country, with the possibility of being useful to people to whom it is easy to do good, and who are not accustomed to have it done to them; then work which one hopes may be of some use; then rest, nature, books, music, love for one's neighbor - such is my idea of happiness. - Leo Tolstoy
                            Reader's Digest

A comfort zone is a beautiful place...but nothing grows there.

All my life through, the new sights of nature made me rejoice like a child. - Marie Curie
                                A-Z Quotes

Nature is painting for us, day after day, pictures of infinite beauty. - John Ruskin
Pass It On, The Foundation for a Better Life

Hiking isn't for everyone. Notice the wilderness is mostly empty. - Sonja Yoerg

Optimism won't change the situation, but optimism will change how the situation feels.

These photos are my own, which I took on Saturday, April 18th. This is a British telephone booth (phone box) situated in a predominantly English and expensive part of Montreal called Town of Mount Royal (TMR). Ville Mont-Royal in French. It is the only one in Quebec! There is no working phone in this booth, it is for decorative purposes only. However, Montreal still has active phone booths in many places. It was a beautiful day, 21 Celsius, almost 70 Fahrenheit! It was a windy day. You will see how beautiful the sky is. You will also see that the trees are only beginning to bud, no leaves yet (and no flowers that I could see yet), but I am enjoying each day that God has given me!
You can click on any image to see a larger view.

A green bush I came across.

Roseraie Pierre Elliott Trudeau Rose Garden
This sign is in a beautiful park situated in Town of Mount Royal. Thus far, as I mentioned above, there are no flowers blooming yet that I have seen. I will take photos of the trees and flowers once I see they have bloomed and share them here.

Here are some YouTube channel recommendations which I hope you will enjoy! I will provide you with the title of the YouTube channel along with a description of what it is about. You will be able to locate the channel by its title. I hope you all enjoy these!

1. Animal Planet
This channel has a variety of videos based on the television shows it airs. (or has aired in the past) I especially like the videos of Jackson Galaxy, who is a cat lover and cat behaviourist who does his best to help cat guardians with any difficulties they have with their cat(s).

2. Great Depression Cooking with Clara
Clara was a lovely woman (she is no longer with us) who loved to cook and she also talked about her life while she was cooking. I absolutely love her videos! She was in her 90s when these videos were taped and I find these videos to be educational, entertaining and I enjoy listening to her talk about her life and cook these easy and frugal recipes from the great depression.

3. Calm Feather

These videos are quite long, so you can listen to any given one for any length of time you need or wish to. Like this YouTube channel's title suggests, these are soothing, calming videos with beautiful birds and some also have rain sounds and soft piano music. I really enjoy the videos on this channel, they are great for relaxing, destressing after a difficult day!

The following video is a Just for Laughs Gag (Juste pour Rire in French) done here in Montreal. Enjoy!  :)

Meet Ravi, Pennsylvania's Capitol Cat  :) (WHTM - ABC27 News)

Man's chance encounter with a wild octopus changes everything (The Dodo)

He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother - The Hollies

Fly, Robin, Fly (The Silver Convention)
I have always liked this old song! However, I had no idea that this group did not know English! (at least when they sang this song). This is why this entire song has only about 6 words in it! (not including the word 'fly' twice or 'up' twice) I just learned this last week when I was trying to decide which songs to choose for this post! Enjoy!

  1. I was wondering if there is an active phone in the telephone booth. They certainly are a rarity these days! So many of these quotes really spoke to me today. You know how to find the best ones! Thank you for sharing them with us. They always brighten my day!!

    1. Hi dear Pamela, thank you so much for mentioning about the active phone! I forgot to put it in my post, but I just edited it now to mention this! No, there is no active phone in this booth. This particular booth is for decorative purposes only. However, we still have many active phones in booths here in Montreal...however, none look like this one.

  5. Ah, Linda! The telephone booth! I have not seen one in ages now that we use a mobile phones. Back in the good old day, I remember how we needed coins to make calls and then these were replaced with phone cards. I am quite sure we still have these at public places like the airport (I hardly ever go there) but I have not seen phone booths are the malls.

  10. monday morning greetings from kuala lumpur! thanks for sharing the photos in the garden--even the signage of rose garden is cute! can't wait to see all the blooming flowers soon! the red phone booth is usually the popular spot to have memorable pose, especially for tourists (in London!) and of course all over Europe! for today, i choose this quote: Everything comes to you at the right time...be patient.. indeed!! this week is mid sem break for my university and hence no classes, i'm still in the office to attend some meetings. take care dear linda!

  14. The video with the compacted groceries. I wouldn't put it past some supermarket to try it for real.

  15. I'm listening to the Hollies sing right now. They're wonderful. Cats can be too inquisitive for their own good. When the weather is nice, I keep my back door open during the day so Princess can wander in and out as she pleases. A few days ago, though, I saw a cat walk in the door -- fortunately, before Princess saw it. I said, Oh, no. And the cat turned and walked back out before he lost one of his lives.

    Love,
    Janie

Everything comes in its own time... be patient.
If it's out of your control, let it go. I think that's a very liberating idea, because sometimes things become obsessions, outcomes that aren't up to us.
    Have a great week! 😘
