Hello dear friends and fellow bloggers! Thank you so much for visiting me here today! I wanted to clarify something that I mentioned in my last post.
It actually has been rainy and chilly here in Montreal. I don't mind it and actually find it good, and this is because the forecast calls for this summer to be a scorcher.
Summers in Quebec can get extremely hot and humid, and since we also have the wildfires to deal with, it worsens the already hot temperatures because the air quality gets very bad.
Our temperatures have gone up as high as 45 celsius...or 113 fahrenheit! This is why for me the cooler, rainy temperatures are fine.
Many people are surprised that our temperatures can (and do at times) reach this high, but when they do it feels like you are stepping into a hot oven when you go outside. So much so that we get weather warnings to not venture outside unless you really need to, especially the elderly and people with any underlying health conditions.
This is why for me the weather has been good, even if it has been rainy and chilly. When summer and the heat I described above hit, the wildfires start and without rain, it is very difficult to put them out.
Wildlife suffer or die and some people have to evacuate their homes...and are fortunate if they do not lose their homes.
Thanks to Asep for the tip on breaking this up into paragraphs in order to make this easier to read. I hope 🙏 this helps.
Here are today's selections, which I hope you will all enjoy and/or benefit from.

I'm in Michigan and it can get surprisingly hot and humid here too. It's been a cold, wet Spring but I bet it will suddenly be hot!
ReplyDeleteYou find the best memes.
I laughed at the video!
Wishing you a PURR-fect Sunday. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteA lovely post exuding positivity. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI would much rather have rain and chilly temperatures to scorching ones. I don't sleep well when it's hot, even with a heat pump. Being content is key; there is no way (realistically) to be happy 100% or even 80% of the time, so we work on being satisfied and thankful.
ReplyDeleteIn Canada is gets up to 113 degrees?
ReplyDeleteI do like the one about eating to stay healthy or not.
I like the first one too. Enough.
It has been a long time since I have seen Just for Laughs. They have produced some great gags.
ReplyDeleteNo matter what the situation, remind yourself "I have a choice." I need to remember this! Thanks, Linda.
ReplyDeleteI am really surprised about the heat in Quebec!!! I hope this summer is not that bad, but with global warming, who knows. I hope you have air conditioning.
ReplyDeleteHi Ginny, thank God I do.
DeleteThe advice about walking away slowly if encountering a bear is very timely. I saw warnings locally about bears near subdivisions ( that are near woods).
ReplyDeleteThe weather seems to be changing. Here on the west coast (B.C.) we have been having very dry summers. Already there are some water restrictions.
I had no idea Canada could get so warm! I'm not a fan of the extreme heat either, but then I don't like what we call cold either, though you Canadians might laugh at that since we don't get ice or snow and where I live I never even see frost.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post, I have such a good time when I am here :) No fan of those scorching summers. I wonder if ours will be the same? I am loving the cooler days. I also have to apologize for the name confusion. I was trying to catch up with you and my other blogging friends and was a) so tired that my pad tapped me in the nose a couple of times (I read it with it on my chest in bed - not the best thing to do late at night :)) and b) well, I can’t remember b) now because I am too tired, lol :) Have a wonderful Sunday dear friend :)
ReplyDeleteGood day
ReplyDeleteIt raises good awareness about local climate challenges in a simple, easy-to-understand way. The closing quote about contentment ties in nicely, reminding readers to appreciate what they have. Breaking the text into shorter paragraphs could make it even easier to read.
This post is warm and relatable, giving a nice personal touch while explaining why rainy, cooler weather in Montreal can actually be a blessing given the extreme summer heat and wildfires.
Thanks so much for sharing this. Its cool
Thank you so much, Asep. I will try to break my text into shorter paragraphs the next time I have a lot to say. It's rare I have this much to say and I just kept typing. LOL 😆 I appreciate your kind words and tip.
DeleteNo worries my friend.
DeleteLinda, You are one only blogger from overseas that mention my real name in a blog comment box. I really appreciate it. Now you have become one of my fave bloggers that I will drop by here anytime I want
Finding contentment in the cooler days and recognizing their value amidst the challenges of wildfire season is a powerful reminder to appreciate the present and prepare with grace.
ReplyDeleteLinda Dear,
ReplyDeleteAs usual to come and visit you here is a moment of relief to my spirit, I feel recharged after leaving you, you're such a kind soul, and everyone reading your words and the quotes you choose can feel it.
The quote I do prefer is "I am happy because I am content with what I have. It might not be much, but for me, it is enough.", I suppose it's a motto coming from a distant past, but to me are still blessed words!
Have a most wonderful Sunday, Sweetie ✿⊱╮
Hello, again!
ReplyDeleteOn the coldest day in the winter one can dress in layers and stay warm. High heat and humidity is impossible to escape.
ReplyDeleteI like warm temperatures but there's a limit to hot I like it.
ReplyDeleteThat video was funny
Hello Linda, again a lovely selection of wise thoughts. Indeed, we can eat ourselves sick or well. The problem for many is that the healthy food, unfortunately, is often more expensive than the processed, fast, fried foods and sugary drinks.
ReplyDeleteI hope the summer will not be terribly hot, dry and windy there.
We have had a cool and dry spring, only recently it has been raining a little.
Happy Sunday! xx
Hello Linda,
ReplyDeleteI would think rain is welcome over a wildfire any day..
I am content with what I have, I do not need much to make me happy.
I enjoyed all the quotes and images.
Take care, have a wonderful week.
Well that temperature you mentioned, it's rather hot indeed. Glad there is a warning to stay safe inside on those hot humid days.
ReplyDeleteThe video is good, made me smile.
The sayings are also good too.
Hi Linda I was so pleased when I saw that you had visited my blog and left me such a lovely message, I can say that this is a blog with a difference and I love it the image and quotes are wonderful, we are having a very dry spell here in UK we need rain desperately for the sakes of the Flora and Fauna hopefully our weather system will get back to normal soon I will be visiting again
ReplyDeletehugs

Hello Linda,
ReplyDeleteNice post. Funny images and what a nice movie at last.
Many greetings,
Marco
Hi, Linda!
ReplyDeleteIt was so nice to have you over to Shady's Place this morning and I thank you again for your visit. Our spring weather has been equally unsettled. We have had many windy days, but the good news is that the rainfall has been more abundant than it was last year when we suffered a prolonged drought that lasted through summer and into fall. We are also enjoying delightfully cooler temperatures this spring. This is why I was eager to move north from Florida two years ago. I am shocked to learn that the mercury can reach 113F in your vicinity and hope forecasters are wrong when they predict a long hot summer for Montreal.
The memes and quotes you shared inspire me and I thank you for posting them. I love the pictures you took years ago of the relaxing water feature and beautiful caladiums. I also enjoyed the Just For Laughs gag. Looks like the pranked customers had a great time taking part in the antics.
Have a safe and happy weekend and take care until I see you again next month, dear friend Linda!
Hi Linda, Your comment was a blessing to me this morning! : ) It's so wonderful to hear from you! Please come back by and visit and I will visit you too and enjoy all of your fun and educational memes. Your blog is just beautiful! I love the green and the contrasting flower above. I know how it is without a computer, I gave up with mine last winter it had become so slow and glitchy. I just now purchased a new one, just a simple little computer. With my mom and grandchildren and our fur babies I don't' have as much time as I used to, to blog but try to as I get the druthers. : )
ReplyDeleteHave a great day! Thank you for getting in touch, I've wondered whatever happened to you! : ) ~Amelia
A very nice post. Have a blessed day. Madeline
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, thank you for letting me know that you are still blogging........and yes I remember you! I have tried so many times to find other bloggers through my older posts, but so many either do not blog any longer or have gone to instagram. The weather here in Texas is full of ups and downs. It was 105 yesterday and next week we are to be in the high 80s. Love your blog and enjoyed visiting here. blessings, Kathleen
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog. I am so happy you are back blogging again. Let's keep contact from now on!
ReplyDeleteThose are all such wonderful quotes! WOW, I didn't know it got that hot up your way.
ReplyDeleteI hate the heat. :( I'm not looking forward to summer at all, as lately it has always been traumatically hot.
ReplyDeleteHave a purrrrr-fect week. :)
What a funny video. I would be one of those people who is surprised by how hot it can get in your area. I would not have thought that. Living in the desert, we are used to hot but lately it just seems to get hotter and hotter.
ReplyDeleteWhere I live, it's been below normal and rainy. Today we are supposed to break out of that pattern. I'm grateful for no frosts, plus the cool weather allowed the flowers out right now to last longer. But I am not looking forward to a hot, humid summer either. Oh, and the video was so funny. I got to thinking, what if someone actually implemented this in their restaurant?
ReplyDeleteenjoyed all of these quotes. summer in Texas can be horrible...thank goodness for air conditioning.
ReplyDeleteLinda, I do hope this summer is not as hot as last year. We have had a lot of rain, so I am happy. It's been in the 70's. Happy Memorial Day weekend.
ReplyDeleteThat is surprising that it gets that hot in Canada!
ReplyDeleteWe have lovely summers here in western Maryland - Usually high 70's to mid 80's. Can get hotter but rarely.
The bears we see on our property run away when they see us.
Contented people are happy people. :)
I'm still scratching my head concerning those high summer temps in Montreal. Wow! And I thought we had it bad down here in Georgia. Blessings, Linda, and enjoy the coolness and rain you're having right now.
ReplyDeletelordy that DOES sound hot..... i don't do well with high temps at all..... i'd much rather have milder weather...... we got a splash of rain today for the first time in a long time and it's very welcome...... you're right about those fires, they can be devastating
ReplyDeleteI did laugh at the video :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Fun video and lots of positive quotes. Thanks and have a good evening.
ReplyDeleteLike you, I like the cooler temperatures and the rain, and we also get the fires here in northern California. I hope it doesn't get too hot in Canada this summer. Not my favorite season. My favorite quote on here is "love heals all." So true. I am following you now, and I hope you do the same. Wishing you beautiful June days, Linda.

Hello. It is me from happy. I was surprised and you made me happy wgen you wrote an email to me missing my presence in blog world. You have a very wonderful blog and I have been absent in blogspot.com for many years since I started my norwegian blog:)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, it is nice to have someone like you who cares:) God bless you.
By the way, I could not write my blogg. Adress above. It would not go through. Its me from happy blog
Hello Linda! Nice of you to find my blog after all these years! I have added you to my Feedly account and look forward to connecting again!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back to the blog world.
ReplyDeleteFab post, happy to see you posting. Thanks for the chuckles.
ReplyDelete45 deg C! Not a temperature I could tolerate. Hope the rain persists at regular intervals to cool the earth for you.
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon Linda - thank you for stopping by my blog. We do know 45 degrees but luckily don't hit it that often - we do however camp in the 30s over Summer quite a bit, but the houses are more built for those conditions so we feel the cold more here - which, as we are going into Winter, we will have over the next few months.
ReplyDeleteHello, climate change is underway. In Switzerland too, we have changes in the weather. Winters are shorter and there is less snow. And the summers are also getting warmer: The mountains and their glaciers suffer a lot from this situation. They become fragile. And there are more and more problems. You have to take the weather as it is, but we have to respect nature. Nice week.
ReplyDeleteIt's been cool here as well.
ReplyDeleteWe had 3 inches of rain here last week and it all soaked into the ground. Hopefully we won't have a dry summer again with incredible heat. I agree certain weather patterns are horrible.
ReplyDeleteThe smoke from fires is also a huge concern.
My favorite saying is I have a choice.
ReplyDeleteGood thing you had cooler weather.
Have a nice week :)
Thank you for the laughs :D a great way to start the week.
ReplyDeleteWeve had similar weather here in Pennsylvania. I love your blog and am so glad I found it. That video had me laughing so hard!
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful that you are back to blogging after so many years without a computer! Glad to see you again.
ReplyDeleteYour quotes remind me of the Stoicism, a philosophy I'm studying a bit right now. I find it very consoling.
Like you our prairie weather can range from -50C in the winter to an almost feels like +50C in the summer. Loved the video.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I did not know it got that HOT up there, I know Michigan where I grew up can get quite warm but that is way too hot, and I always feel sad when I see all those trees burning up, especially if it effects people's homes. I hope you can continue to enjoy a cooler spring!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, thanks for the comment, who knows what the internet gets up to! Hope you've had a PURR-fect day. Joined your followers too. Hugs Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteAfter a few weeks of sunny and warm weather, we've now had a few days of cold, overcast or rainy weather (in Ireland). I prefer the warm as I can't afford heating, at the moment, so I need to wear "everything" as it's 15C in the house.
ReplyDeleteGreat video. Such a fun thing to do. I also enjoyed all your memes and quotes today. My favourite is " I am happy because I am content...." and the cookies.
ReplyDeleteGreat post and the video is fabulous. Weather from this side bit of all weather rainy, sunny and little cold today.
ReplyDeleteOi Linda! Obrigada por sua visita e comentário em meu blog, volte sempre! Nossa, que calor faz aí no Canadá, 45 graus é de derreter de suor! Eu adorei as mensagens! Beijos e boa semana! (o゚v゚)ノ
ReplyDeleteThat was a funny video!
ReplyDeleteI know about the wildfire season in BC and Alberta, but it never occurred to me that Quebec also gets its share of wildfires up north...
ReplyDeleteBonitas frases.
Abrazos desde España.
Love your inspirational quotes. Especially Love Heals All.
ReplyDeleteGood Post. Loved the videos.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you appreciate the benefits of the cooler, rainy weather. It can get quite hot where I live (So. California) and we have very devastating wildfires, too. But, I must admit to prefering the warmer weather. :)
ReplyDeleteI love all of the inspirational quotes and videos. I completely understand the enjoying cold and rainy weather over the heat. Here in Texas....in May....we have reached the temperature of 105. Stay cool!
ReplyDeleteI can totally understand why you appreciate the chilly weather after reading your explanation. That kind of hot and humid weather sounds kind of awful.
ReplyDeleteIn Europe, snakes don't wait for people to freeze. They are the first to jump to bite.
ReplyDeleteBom dia. Uma excelente terça-feira, com muita paz e saúde minha querida amiga.
ReplyDeleteLinda Hi!!!! Thank you for your EXTREMELY sweet comment on my blog! OMG I am so embarrassed, I don't remember!! How many years ago was it that we followed each other???? I am soooooo embarrassed but I have to be honest, I actually know people's PETS better than the people. I want to follow your blog but don't see any way to do so.
ReplyDeleteI suspect your weather is similar to ours but a bit cooler as you are farther north and east from us. But I understand precisely what you mean! And thank you, too, for your wonderful visits. (I love your "I am happy" bit below here!)
ReplyDeleteOur weather sounds like much like yours. May has been unusually cold and wet. Also heard that our summer was to be very hot. Guess we will wait and see. Adore your quotes and laughs you share. Like especially the one about it is our choice how we react to our circumstances. Hope you have a delightful day. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHello, Thank you for sharing about your weather. I always wanted to visit Montreal. I had a trip all made out, but it never did happen. I will get to learn about it through you. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove, Carla
I sure hope your summer weather is better this year. Dealing with the heat and without the wildfires would still be a blessing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind comment on my blog! I enjoyed reading yours today, and the video gave a good laugh! My caladium looks just like your older picture!
ReplyDeleteWow I didn't realize it got so hot in Montreal! Hope you are enjoying the cooler weather while you can. It has finally started to warm up where I am and I just had my carpets cleaned as the last part of my spring cleaning routine. Love the pictures! Thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this post. I am concerned as you about the changings in the environment. In my humble opinion mostly caused bu commerce, hence my blog showing what good stuff the well to do people who don't seem to care buy, then don't need and throw out. But to not get sick of worries: 'a purr a day keeps the doctor away' :)
ReplyDeleteWe used to be able to get the Just For Laughs Gags show on tv but I haven't seen it for quite awhile. Would be nice if they brought it back.
ReplyDeleteLovely quotes.
ReplyDeleteI try to get all my work done in the morning here in AZ to beat the heat in the hot afternoons. I prefer cold, too. Thanks for the humor!
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't imagine 7 years! Glad to see you're back.
ReplyDeleteOh wow....those temps would have me melting. I don't do heat very well and I thought Texas was hot!! beautiful pictures and some really cute memes.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Linda, you have a darling blog. I loved all the sayings, especially. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and commenting, too. I am your newest follower! Hope you have a lovely day today. Keep laughing! It's good for the body and the soul! Susan
ReplyDeleteI live in a desert country and temps are already above 40 C every day and it's only going to get worse. August is usually our humid month which is really miserable. Still trying to walk either early morning or evening after sunset. Really heartbreaking to hear of wildfires anywhere. Hope the season won't be too crazy or catastrophic.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog again. Take care.
I never realized it could get so hot in Montreal. This month, your weather must be a bit like the weather here in New England, cloudy, cold, and wet. It's rained almost every day during the month of May, usually on the weekends. Enjoy your cooler temps.
ReplyDeleteKiitos Linda, kun kävit blogissani. Tulin vastavierailulle.
ReplyDeleteTeillä on vähän viileämpää nyt ja nautit siitä. Hyvä niin!
Voi hyvin!
Terveiset Suomesta, asun aika etelässä, maan kaakkoisosassa.
Sirpa
Thanks for your kind thoughts, much appreciated. Hugs Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteClimate change is accelerating
ReplyDeletemore and more. Here in Brazil there are floods,
very hot days or very cold days.
I liked the situations and the photos you took.
Have a good week.
Janice.
We just have had 30 degrees C yesterday here and it was too hot for me. When I visit my son in Dubaï the temperature and humidity is very high. I only go in winter 30 C in summer sometimes 50C.
ReplyDeleteI love you video so funny!
Hi! Thank you for sharing such encouragement. Blessings.
