Laughter, Gratitude and Canadian Thanksgiving!

Hello dear friends and fellow bloggers! A very warm welcome to you all! Thank you so much for taking the time to come a visit me here!

Monday, October 13th, is our Canadian Thanksgiving! For those who may not know this, the reason our Thanksgiving is earlier than our U.S. friends' and neighbours', is because our harvest is in October. Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadian friends and bloggers!

Here are today's selections, which I hope will bring some brightness to your day!

Women and cats will do as they please. And men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.  :)

The true measure of our Thanksgiving is how we use our blessings and not how we count them...we are all blessed in some ways...Canadian Thanksgiving.

A book recommendation for all my friends and fellow bloggers who love cats as much as I do! This book was one I absolutely loved! "All My Patients are Under the Bed" by Dr. Louis J. Camuti, Veterinarian
Perhaps your local library has it...or can get it for you. I am not sure if it is still in print, but this is a very good book!  :)

There's no shame in rearranging, don't make yourself feel worse.

One of the greatest awakenings comes when you realize that not everybody changes. Some people never change. And that's their journey. It's not yours to try to fix them.

Radiate boundless love towards the entire world - above, below and across - unhindered, without ill will, without enmity. - Buddha

Training your mind to be in the present moment is the number one key to making healthier choices. - Susan Albers

A calm mind releases the most precious capacity a human being can have: the capacity to turn anger into compassion, fear into fearlessness and hatred into love.

Don't carry yesterday - you can't change it.
Don't stress tomorrow - it hasn't arrived yet.
Live today - this moment is your gift.
Worry adds nothing, but it will steal your joy, drain your peace and keep you spinning in circles.
Choose gratitude. Choose presence. Choose life.

Don't chase people. Be an example. Attract them. Work hard and be yourself. The people who belong in your life will come and find you and stay.

Canada...we are not Americans. Not everyone lives in an igloo. We do not bathe in maple syrup, but if we could we would. It's not winter 12 months a year. We have a goose named after us. It's O.K. to say "EH!" Not everyone has a pet polar bear. We think the mountie's uniform is stylish. The beaver is a cherished animal. The best country in the world since 1867.  :)

I feel sorry for the people who don't have birds. I hear they need alarm clocks to wake up in the morning!  :)

Tuck in those paws: it's time to scroll through dreams, not feeds. Good night.  :)

The following photos are my own, which I took on my walks here in Montreal this month on my cellphone. You can click on any image to see a larger view.

These last three photos are of one of my jackets. It has a zipper enclosure in the front. The material is polar fleece and I love it! You will notice that it also has a hood. I purchased this lovely jacket at Giant Tiger about 3 years ago for $35 (Canadian) dollars.

This is the back of the jacket.

This last photo is just to show what the material of the inside of the jacket looks like. It is comfortable and warm.

The following video is a Just for Laughs Gag (Juste pour Rire in French) done here in Montreal! Enjoy!  :)

  8. Happy Thanksgiving! And your jacket us beautiful, and so unusual. I'm going to look for this book. My favorites are the first one and the Karen Salmansohn quote. And I DO believe that beavers should be cherished! Right down to their buck teeth and big flat tails!!

Happy Thanksgiving-I did not know yours was in October
I found the book on Ebay for $6.00 and free shipping so grabbed it. I end up buying books as the library is a good drive away and then having to drive back in 2 weeks to return them-easier for me to buy books-I look for used ones.
    Hoping your weather is ice

1995 we transported a lava lamp throughout Australia and then had it shipped to Germany, thinking it was very special. Years later every shop in Germany had it...

  17. Dear Linda, I love the flowers photos that you took with your cell phone. I wish I could see these flowers in real life everyday. I hope they smell sweet and don't have that much pollens so that people won't get hay fever when near them.

  18. Hi Linda, your blue white deer 🦌polar fleece jacket looks so cozy. If I am a cat🐈😺 I would be making biscuits, pushing my paws in and out, kneading dough on your jacket and then snuggle into it to sleep soundly having good dreams in front of a fireplace in winter ❄️. I believe winter in Montreal is very, very cold 🥶

And my alarm clock, so true enough, are the birds (koel in specific cos they are so loud) in my neighbourhood's woods. And it will be cute to have a pet parrot who talks and says, "Good morning!", "Happy birthday 🎂!" to their owner.

  88. Lindo, your jacket is great and it surely looks very warm. I had a good laugh at the stereotypes about Canada and its people — unfortunately, such opinions have a long life and there are plenty of them about every country. Foreigners who come to Poland are also surprised by many things because they had a completely different image of us. Sending hugs!
