Lest we forget...Remembrance Day, November 11th

The following photos are my own, which I took on my cellphone during my walks here in Montreal in October. You can click on any image to see a larger view.

In the U.S. you are all familiar with KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken)...well, as I have mentioned in previous posts, Quebec is a province that uses the French language...and of course, Montreal is in Quebec. Now, this PFK stands for Poulet Frit a la Kentucky...the French version of Kentucky Fried Chicken.  :)  I think the rest of Canada uses the English original name...or may be bilingual.

The following video is a Just for Laughs Gag (Juste pour Rire in French) done here in Montreal! Enjoy! :)

  1. I always love your kitty images, Linda! I had a wonderful kitty fix yesterday. My hairstylist brought her two tiny gray rescue kitties in, and I got to hold them for about 30 minutes. They were so soft and purry. Terry doesn't like cats (cat's litter boxes and claws), so I can't have one of my own. Yes, we mutually remember our vets who sacrificed so much. Have a great week!

  12. To be honest, dear friend Linda... I don´t regret my mistakes. They made who I am today and that´s pretty OK. Now does this sound arrogant?
To all soldiers, Mothers, wifes and kids of them - it must´ve been (is) so hard.
Patience... I am working on it. To free things!
You must be proud to rename it PFK :-)

Thank you also for the photo of that magnificent red tree 🍁🍁🍁🍁 what a wonderful sight 💞
I hope you are feeling much better today 🙏🏻

  30. Happy Monday, Linda! Love the red of the maples on your walk. BTW, here it's just KFC. 🙃 I think New Brunswick is the only bilingual province, so maybe there they have both!

Careful under foot when out and about, especially if your city does as poor a job of snow clearing and salting as ours (sidewalks specifically). I haven't ventured out for my morning before-work walk because we got freezing rain before the snow....and so it begins! 🙄😁

  40. Hello Linda,

We have always given homes to rescue cats, so the images you show here are very close to our hearts. It seems that Covid and the cost of living crisis has resulted in many pets being abandoned and so the need for people to foster or adopt is more urgent than ever.

And, in our experience, a pet that has been rescued generally keeps in better health than their more sophisticated counterparts but also are tremendously loving.

The above is the one that I have been working on this entire year. I started a journey to stop harming myself from thoughts from the past at the start of the year. I am going through a study called the Pivot Year. Thank you for the quotes.

  65. Querida Linda! Abrazo enorme

  67. Thank you for all of these very positive and thoughtful reminders to think of others, and also about "Remembrance Day", which here in the states is "Veteran's Day", tomorrow. Our veterans have given so much for our countries. We owe them a great debt of gratitude. I LOVE the cat pictures, and especially the black cat, since I have spunky black cat named Blackie, who never ceases to make me smile and chuckle a bit at his antics. Thank you for sharing these wonderful thoughts with us. They always make me stop and think, which is a good thing the older I get...to keep exercising the mind! Be blessed my friend.

  107. I’m so glad I found my way here — and first, a warm hello to Montreal!
In a world that often feels divided, it’s refreshing to see a space that proudly celebrates positivity. I truly loved this post. If I had to pick one line that stayed with me, it would be: “I now realize instead of growing into my best self, I'm reducing into my best self, by choosing to let go of regrets, fears, worry, doubt, resentment.” 🌸🌸🌸 — such a powerful reflection.
