Hi dear friends and fellow bloggers! A very warm welcome to you all! Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to visit me here! It really means so much to me!
Here is the link to my regular Laughter, Acceptance
Every now and then I will do a post like this to give you all the opportunity to get to know me better. This is one of those occasional posts! :)
First of all, I want to thank you all so much for your prayers and thoughts on my behalf in relation to my health. I have been having difficulty with swallowing and a chronic cough for a while now. I had my first test done last month. I am waiting for my second test, which is scheduled for March 12th. I also have an appointment with my family doctor on March 2nd.
Please rest assured that I will update you all when I know more...right now there is nothing to report.
I struggle with depression but as I have mentioned in previous posts, I "struggle" with it, I don't "suffer" from it. I do my best to live each and every day with enthusiasm, taking one day at a time and enjoying life. I also do my best to not complain about things I have no control over, such as the weather. I try to cherish every moment that God has given me.
My favourite colour is green...like the leaves on trees and the colour of grass...I believe it is known as "forest green".
I do enjoy reading! I read only non-fiction, though.
I have never smoked in my life nor have I done drugs, and I do not drink alcohol. I prefer quiet times and am not fond of large crowds or lots of noise.
I love nature and animals, and enjoy taking walks in nature and I sometimes take photos of things I like and share them here on my blog.
I am 69 years young and retired. I love to clean and organize! I am not good at decorating, drawing, painting or crafts! I do enjoy seeing creations of those who have the talent, I just don't have the talent myself!
I am a very sensitive person. Things like violence and animal cruelty, particularly when there are photos, affects me to the point where I avoid such content.
Although I love nature, flowers, and plants, I do not have a green thumb! I live in a 6th floor apartment and so of course do not have a garden. Although I like to see plants and flowers, I don't have the talent to maintain them, so I don't have them. I am much better with animals, as I have had pets most of my life....mostly cats, and sometimes birds such as budgies, canaries and finches.
Well, I will keep this short, but I hope this will give you a chance to get to know me a bit better.
Thank you so much for visiting me here! Please, if you haven't yet, check out my Monday post (link is at the top of this post)

ReplyDelete...Linda, most of us have struggles that we face and I hope that your medical team can lessens yours. I wish that you can always be well and happy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing a little more about you. You and I have a lot in common!
ReplyDeleteLinda do check the link on your words Monday Post, it doesn't seem to link with the Monday Post.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
All the best Jan
PS Thank you for sharing more about yourself.
Hi Jan, I just fixed it...changed the words. The link is good and leads directly to my Monday post. Hope this helps. Thank you for letting me know.
DeleteHello again Linda ... your new wording and link is now working perfectly :)
DeleteAll the best Jan
Linda you and I are certainly kindred spirits. Like you nature and quiet places are what appeal to me. I have a cat called Skeeter...he was a stray and because I did not want my dogs to kill him moved him into the shed and now he lives in the garage when my GSD's don't go. Have had numerous cats and dogs and I too am 69 young - it is a great age to be! Not retired yet but thinking soon. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I think green is a wonderful color too. Always enjoy your positive quotes and funny videos. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteGood to learn more about you. We have much in common. I enjoy a quiet life and do not like noisy crowds.
ReplyDeleteI hate crowds and even being among family members sometimes gives me a bit of anxiety. How wonderful to learn a bit more about you and your life.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
How nice to read about you and get you know you better. :)
ReplyDeleteYou´d likely like our condo, green walls :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd same with reading here. Atm I read "Born 1940". Yes, I was born in the 70´s but as German I just have to read the facts, also from an Australian POV. It was for free.
I do like a beer, though (I am German after all ;-)...)
Can you come over and organize?
I do not understand violence. I was never allowed a cat.
Now we know each other a bit better, huh? Much love and brrrr... it´s cold but I do my best to send warm hugs over!
Thanks for sharing. It's nice to be able to get to know my blog friends better.
ReplyDeletePraying for encouraging test results and that whatever you have will be easy to fix.
I do not have any talent at all for painting or drawing.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to your lifestyle choices as well as your enjoyment of nature and the need for a quiet life.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a green thumb either! Some people just have the touch, and some don't. I'm a terrible over-waterer. What kind of non-fiction do you like to read? History, science, philosophy? I used to read a lot of non-fiction in my younger days, but I don't have the brain power anymore for it, LOL.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda! I love this post! We have so much in common - my favorite color is also green, prefer non-fiction, I also don't smoke, no drugs & alcohol and I also love walks in nature. I hope that all will be well with your next medical test and doctor visit. I am keeping you in my prayers. Have a great week ahead!
ReplyDeleteLinda,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your post because now I know you a little more!!! I also have depression and anxiety. It has been a life long journey for me. But I am like you I make the best of it!
Dear Linda I am still newish to your blog and I will tell you that to date, this is my most fave one. I LOOVED reading about you. Thank you for sharing. Cheers and huggs, Ivy.
ReplyDeletePS: And of course, I am very sorry for the health issues. That's not fun. Hoping they get it sorted.
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower, so this post is a great way to get to know you better! Thank you for your candor and honesty! My favorite color is also green! But I don't have a green thumb, at all. I will have a drink now and then, but only one. I'm 74 and have never been drunk, and have never taken drugs. We all just need to take one day at a time and feel the blessings!! xo
ReplyDeleteThese are good posts to read.
ReplyDeleteI'm turning 56 tomorrow. I don't have a green thumb either but my daughter sure does.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to get to know you better.
We are the same age. I wish I loved to clean and organize. I like things cleaned and organized, but I am better at coming up with excuses why I can't do it!
ReplyDeleteI so loved learning more about you personally, Linda, and so appreciate your candor and honesty in conveying it. I will be turning 71 on March 1st. There are days that I feel my age and there are those that I think I'm 20 again. Laughter, optimism, and most especially, belief in God's promises keep us, His children, ever hopeful and filled with joy. Please know that I'm praying for you! Blessings always!
ReplyDeleteI know you much better now. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteDear Linda 💚 I enjoyed reading this post.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to know you better. 🍏🌿☘️
I've been your blogging friend for quite some time now.
I look forward to your posts every week. 🥰
Have a pleasant week!
We're the same age and I'm not good at decorating or crafting either. I do love to read, although I read mostly fiction. I'm in a Book Club-which I very much enjoy. I hope your medical tests will provide answers and an effective treatment. I enjoy learning more about my blog friends! Thanks for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteDear Linda, just like our friend PH said, I have so much in common as you. Thanks for being so frank, so outright, so truthful and so brave and letting us to know you better. May God bless you. I also don't do smoking, don't do drugs and alcohol and I love reading so much.
ReplyDeleteGood to know you more and better through this special post, Linda. Wish you a most wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteNice to hear more about you Linnda. You take care.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, thanks for sharing your health issue in your blog. I pray that the tests you have undergone will lead to an effective treatment in your case. God bless!
ReplyDeleteLinda, I too cannot abide animal cruelty. And same as you I don't have a green thumb :) Take good care of yourself ♥
ReplyDeleteThank you for this way of knowing you better!
I LOVE green too, we lived in Riyadh for a few years, when it was just becoming a city, no grass just desert. When we came home, I remember kneeling down and kissing the grass. I'm wishing you well with your tests. You keep on top of that awful depression. I've been there and got the T shirt. I love your honesty in this post. Take care. x
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on animal cruelty and I like to say that I have ten black thumbs.
Take care 🧡
Hi Linda, good to know about the updates. You are a beautiful soul and somehow lot of your favourite matches mine too. Haha. Please do take care. Life is a beautiful gift. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to know someone a bit better. We share many favourite things with you like nature, and reading, and walks!
ReplyDeleteBello conoscerti meglio!
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to learn more about you, nice post. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteTake care, have a great day.
I hope you will always be happy allthought your problems !!! God Bless You!!!!! 😇 🍀 🇪🇸 🏰 🎩 🙏
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda for letting your readers know you better.
ReplyDeleteI pray 🙏 that your visits to doctors will get to the root cause of the issues that are bothering you. Have a good week ahead! 💕
I enjoyed reading more about you. We have several things in common
ReplyDeleteSo nice to get to know you better. I will keep praying for you and I'm sending my Light to you. May the light help you getting out of the depression
ReplyDeleteDbaj o siebie. Ściskam ciepło z zaśnieżonej Polski :)
Nice to get to know you a bit better. I wrestle the black dog of depression too.
Bjssss
Thank you for sharing more about yourself, Linda.
ReplyDeleteBom dia. Gostei muito do que li e vi. Um abraço, paz e bem
ReplyDeleteNice to get to know you better. I also like green. I try to have a green thumb - I try...ahaha.
Saludos.
Get well soon
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda. Lovely post.
ReplyDeleteBonjour Linda,
gros bisous
I'm pleased to get to know you better and also happy to know you have dr's appointments coming up since I've been concerned about your health. We have some things in common. I'm also sensitive and become very upset by cruelty, especially cruelty to animals, and can't bear photos of such cruelty. I once called a charity and told them they had to stop sending me their materials because of the photos -- I won't go into details. I love to read and enjoy some fiction, but I read a great deal of non-fiction -- usually biographies and memoirs. President Harry Truman said the best way to learn history was by reading biographies, and I'm quite interested in history, especially certain periods of time. Now we know each other better, Linda!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
LInda, it is so nice to learn a bit more about you. I think these posts are so sweet and I am glad you are willing to share. I am praying the doctors identify the issue and have a quick remedy for it.
ReplyDeleteI like your attitude about depression using struggle as the better word. That is a positive. As for plants, consider a sanservia aka sword plant because they require minimal care in a good space. Faux greenery is also cheerful. I use both. Good luck
ReplyDeleteMay
Nice to learn more about you, Linda. Thanks for sharing a part of yourself.
ReplyDeleteGood to get to know you more Linda :-D I love animals and nature too and we both love cats too :-D Had to laugh at the green thumb! Me neither sadly!
ReplyDeleteHope all goes well with the doctors. I have the physio this week and the surgeon next week so will post updates about these appointments.
I can see some impotrant similarities between us, such as the love for nature & books and the need to avoid cruel content. Not to mention mental problems. Today I am struggling more... But it will pass. :)
ReplyDeleteHope the appointments lead to you feeling better. Thanks for sharing about yourself, you seem very sweet.
ReplyDeleteI can't deal with other people's suffering (or other creatures) either.
ReplyDeleteBonsoir
ReplyDeleteC'est avec douceur et tendresse
Que je viens vous souhaiter
Une agréable soirée et une bonne nuit
Bisous bises kisss Rita
Great to get more about yourself, Linda. Thank you for sharing such a lovely post.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Dear Linda,
ReplyDeletedanke, dass Du uns an Deinem Leben teilhaben lässt. Ich wünsche Dir starke Gedanken auf Deinem Weg. Alles Liebe von Traudi.🍀
Thank you for this post! I'm with you about liking quiet and avoiding crowds and noise. I hope you can get help with your cough and trouble swallowing. Again, thank you for letting us get to know you better. Much love. ❤️
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing a piece of your heart with us. Your strength and gentle way of looking at life are truly inspiring. I am keeping you in my thoughts and hope your upcoming appointments bring reassuring news. Sending you peace in the shade of forest green today. Fluffy and I send our warm greetings from Cracow, Poland🩷
ReplyDeleteThank you for this, Linda.
ReplyDeleteThat was me, Sandra
ReplyDeleteSending you healing thoughts and hopes for a good report after your next test.
ReplyDeleteThank you for giving us a chance to know you better Linda. I too face the challenges of depression, in fact I'm publishing my first post in a couple of weeks tomorrow which I talk about some of my recent challenges. I'm also drawing a comic strip about it but that won't be published until April sometime (I try and stay ahead). Hope you are feeling better soon. Sending positive energies ❤️
ReplyDeleteLovely to learn more about you! I am also a non-fiction reader. I love history and true tales. I hope all goes well at your appointments.
ReplyDeleteI hope the Docs figure it all out for you soon, we're thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteFirst, I wanted to tell you that I whispered a prayer for you when reading this. I'm sorry you are going through these health issues.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to know a few things about you. I also prefer quiet times instead of large crowds and loud noises. I do like to decorate for the holidays, and I find joy in that. And I've had dogs all my life. ; ) I wish you a very nice February week, Linda.
I enjoyed reading more about you, Linda. Thank you for sharing this about yourself and enabling us to get to know you. I am keeping you in my prayers for good health and hope that the doctors will be able to diagnose what health issues you have to deal with and hope they are able to treat them. I, too, tend to read more non-fiction than fiction, but, I don't seem to read quite as much these days as I used to. I spend too much time watching videos online, I think!
ReplyDeleteSending my most powerful prayers/
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed getting to know you a bit better through this post, Linda. I do hope you will have good results from your medical tests and that your problem can be easily resolved. I also prefer quiet to crowds, but I prefer fiction to non-fiction. Good thing there are plenty of books in many genres out there for us to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteLovely Linda, it has been a joy to learn a little more about you. I feel I have so many things in common with you. If I lived in that apartment block I feel I could knock on your door, gift you a bunch of flowers, sit a while and enjoy tea (and cake), and enjoyable conversation. Perhaps we could swap some non fiction books to read. I hope you will have answers soon re your illness. Take care, lovely lady.
ReplyDeleteWitaj. U nas w Polsce jest dzisiaj środa popielcowa. Tzw Popielec. Pozdrawiam gorąco 💖
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your kind words about your life. I'm sending you lots of positive energy. I really enjoy reading your posts with the pictures and quotes.
ReplyDeleteI also avoid bad news; it only brings you down, and we should fill our world with beauty and kindness and joy... All the best and a warm hug from Viola
Děkuji, milá Lindo, že jsi dokázala o sobě tolik napsat! Přeji Ti hlavně dobré zdraví a pohodu. 🙇
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteI wish you health and recovery from depression.
Best regards :)
Great post. I'm glad I got to know you better. It's nice when a reader can get to know a blogger better.
ReplyDeleteYou are an inspiration with your positive outlook! I know it takes strength to rise above and I sense your strength comes from deep within. Best wishes with your upcoming medical appointments.
It's wonderful to learn more about you, Linda. I, too, am sixty-nine years old, and I also love nature. Sending good thoughts and prayers for your doctor visit.
Oh, my, why do you have to wait for so long for appointments, I thought the wait is long only in my godforsaken mobster land LOL But then again, people here often die before the time comes for their appointments sometimes scheduled years ahead. Terrible business indeed.
ReplyDeleteOh, what a fun read, Linda. It’s so nice to learn more about you!
ReplyDeleteBelinda
So glad you are better. And do nice to get to know you better. Hugs ♥️
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing something personal about your life. Your attitude towards life is commendable! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that nothing major comes of it!
ReplyDeletehugs Elke
Precious Linda, (I call you 'precious' because you truly are!) Thank you for sharing yourself with us as you have in this particular post. Here are my comments:
ReplyDeleteI suspected you must be a cat lover since you tend to post felines more than other animals in your blog posts. I am okay with cats (my children have them) but I prefer dogs. I suspect, however, that since you are a kind heart, you won't hold my preference for canines against me. (smile)
When I was a teenager my family lived on the 8th floor of an apartment building in Vancouver, BC. We immigrated there from the USA, but my father's job did not last as long as anticipated, so we had to leave after only 5 months. We had an excellent view of the harbor in Vancouver where we could watch ships coming and going. I will never forget the beauty of all that. So although I am not Canadian like you, I have lived in your country.
Thank you for sharing your preferences and dislikes. You are absolutely, without a doubt, not alone in your desires. And yes, I know what depression feels like. BLESSEDLY, that has not been a problem for me in at least ten years, but I do remember what it was like at the time.
Depression can go away due to a lot of things. In my case, medications were not the answer (although that was my solution for some years). For me I think the changes that come with aging of the physical body (surviving menopause), my nest emptying out, and a radical relocation in climate have all been helpful.
It also helps to read the many things you regularly include in your blog posts (some of which migrate into my blog posts -- thank you!!). You are a bright writer and contributor to our blog community and I am very thankful for you!
Hello, Linda!
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed this post and getting to learn more about you. I certainly hope they can diagnose and then begin to treat your swallowing issue effectively. That has to be so very frustrating and uncomfortable. I love your attitude -- there is a big difference between struggling with depression and suffering from it. We have much in common -- including our love of cats. But cleaning well is a challenge for me!
ReplyDeleteI will continue to pray for your next test coming up that they will reveal what is going on and that God will give the doctors wisdom in your care! Wow I am surprised how much a like we are. I too love pets, have had dogs in the past as well as cats, birds, gerbils and fish. Right now all we have is cats. I too don't like a lot of noise and people, we would rather be out in nature. I am terrible at organizing and I have the messiest craft room ever, I do keep the rest of my house well but not the craft room :) I am a couple years younger than you. I too deal with depression, it comes and goes and I am so thankful it is not a daily thing. I do like green but I also like peaches and pinks too, I really have a hard time picking one color :)
ReplyDeletetake care!
May you be blessed with good health and happiness every day. Even in difficult times, you always stay positive :)
ReplyDeletei cannot understand how people can be cruel to animals. Human often feel superior over a smaller, defenseless creature.
thank you so much for sharing so openly... it really feels like we’re getting to know the real you. i admire your strength and positivity especially in facing health challenges and depression while still finding joy in everyday moments. your love for nature, animals, and quiet moments really resonates with me and I can imagine how peaceful your walks must be. i hope your upcoming tests go smoothly and i’ll be keeping you in my thoughts...
ReplyDeletei love reading your post like this. it makes us closer, virtually. health is wealth indeed! being healthy at the age of 69 is indeed a great blessing!! i will be 50 this coming april, and hopefully both of us will always be blessed with health and happiness! linda, have u ever travelled to any where, within canada or abroad? may be u can share your travel experience in later2 posting (similar to this), anyway, if not suitable, just ignore my question (not important anyway). take care dear linda!! so nice to have a virtual blogger friend from montreal!
ReplyDeleteYour post has such a gentle openness to it, and it feels like an invitation to slow down and really see the person behind the words. The way you describe meeting each day with intention, even while navigating health challenges and depression, carries a quiet strength that is very moving. I also appreciated the glimpse into the things that bring you peace — nature, animals, quiet moments, and the simple joy of an organized space. It is lovely how clearly your sensitivity and kindness come through, and how thoughtfully you shape your life around what nurtures you.
Besos.
ReplyDelete
