The following photos are my own, which I took with my cellphone on February 12th here in Montreal. It was a beautiful day, -4 Celsius and sunny! You can click on any image to see a larger view.
The following video is a Just for Laughs Gag (Juste pour Rire in French) done here in Montreal. Enjoy! :)

Hi Linda! I needed all those quotes to cheer me up, thank you! It's back to work after 5 blissful days at home. Ah, there will be more public holidays and weekends coming. That's my definition of hope. LOL!
I have two snoring cats with me and when I'll go to sleep now, one of them will probably come into my arm to snuggle up and sleep there. Warm, calming, comforting - I love that he does that.
Love the crack-quote the most, dear friend Linda!!! Let the light shine! And the hope comes in with it. And to keep on trying... 37C today so your snow pics look even good! Much love and really literally warm hugs from here!
Hope is the bridge between today and tomorrow...yes, indeed! Your snow photos are always so beautiful. I enjoy seeing the seasons of Montreal. Thank you for sharing, sweet Linda!
I so love your photos, Linda. We so rarely see snow in GA, that I find it delightful. I loved the video you shared of the Carpenters. One of my favorite memories is seeing them in concert with my cousin who purchased tickets when she knew we would be there for our summer visit. We were both shocked to see how thin Karen was. We both assumed we had cancer but that she died from anorexia was a wake up call. Having a healthy body image is worth indescribably more than fame and fortune.
My favourite: Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow." and love the hope ones as well There is always hope and magic winter wonderland photos
I love your beautiful snow! I also enjoy your quotes about hope and what can help with depression. I've found that helping others and reaching out are powerful for my own mental health. I've always loved the quote, "It's only in the darkness that we can see the stars."-Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
I don't always watch the videos but when I saw there was a tortoise I asked my husband to watch with me 💚 We love tortoises. Brought back childhood memories. I had a tortoise and so did my sister. Thank you Linda, your posts are always lovely 💕
I know the black dog too well, unfortunately. Do what ever you need to do to start feeling better. In this current world we live in. It’s hard to imagine anyone not having a touch of depression. Hugs from down under
The snow looks so beautiful in the sun, and you definitely brightened my day with all those wonderful quotes. Thank you for your effort, and I wish you a pleasant day as well. Hugs Elke
Bom dia minha querida amiga Linda.
Memes are good, Linda. I like Leonard Cohen's. Long shadows in your photos which are good. The last video isn't available, but I went to YouTube and watched it. Take care.
These are great Linda :-D So true about the cats. Cats really are the best medicine! :-D The older I get the more I like The Carpenters. I am in my mid 40s. :-D
Me gustan tus fotos invernales.
I imagine it is not easy not being depressed when you live in Canada LOL My city is deemed the European city with the biggest rate of suicides probably because parts of it were built on an old swamp terrain and we live in the middle of a lowland with no mountains, hills, just endless fields.
Good morning! You always post things that are so meaningful and I know many who read your blog, find something that helps them take a deep breath and move forward!! Of course, I love all the ones with cats!! Have a blessed day, my friend! xo
Hello Linda! All quotes about hope with a good message. I like this one the most: "Hope is the ability to see that, despite all the darkness, there is light." Desmond Tutu
Oi, Linda! Adorei a foto mostrando a neve branquinha. Um abraço! 🌺
Wonderful selections, Linda. Hope is a very powerful force, isn't it? Loved your photos of the snowy landscape and that video about the tortoise! Hope you are keeping well and your week is going well.
Ahoj, Lindo!
I HOPE you have a lovely rest of your week! You have certainly given us a lot to HOPE for in this post! I HOPE I can apply all of these positive thoughts to my own life! We can always use more HOPE!!
as long as we live, there is always hope. love your montreal photos! the lowest temperature i've ever experienced was 0 celsius. -4 celcius is really cold
And again an encouraging post with wonderful quotes. Here ONe of my favorites this moment: Die dunkelste Nacht ist oft die Brücke zum Hellsten morgen. - Jonathan Lockwood Huie
I think about the scene, when the friends of Jesus - he was dead - were sad and tried to catch some fishes in the night like in former times The caught nothing.. The day came, and suddenly Jesus - alive ****** stood beside them. "Go again to the sea and do your work" _ Petrus said: "Okay, because YOU say this.." And they caught so many fishes, that the boat was nearly too heavy.
"Courage brüllt nicht immer. Manchmal ist Mut die leise Stimme am Ende des Tages und sagt: "Ich werde es morgen noch einmal versuchen." - Mary Anne Radmacher"
Thank you, Linda, once again for that whole list of images and phrases that you surely chose with such care. You know I like to pick one from among them all. Today I’m choosing the one by Leonard Cohen, “There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.” First, because the phrase is brilliant, and second, because Leonard is one of my favorites, so I’m delighted. Wishing you a happy and uplifting weekend.
The cat quotes are so true ! I am so happy that I could take my Rosie with me in "my" castle. She comforts me and it is a presence. The other quotes are a little sad, but that fits for me too ! your photos are very nice !
Dear Linda, I love your two photos. You have natural talent in photography. The shadows of the trees on the white white snow, so beautiful ❄️ have a wonderful weekend ❤️
These are all beautiful and yes, hopeful. Sometimes, when I see what is going on in this country, I'm close to losing hope, but then I see my friends and all the good people and hope comes right back. It's a bit of a rollercoaster right now.
I understand the one about going to sleep just so you don't have to face things. Great uplifting hope quotes too :) Love your picture, so pretty with the shadows of the trees on the snow! Have a great weekend!
dear linda! afternoon greetings from kuala lumpur! i'm back, after holiday in tokyo and then I went back to visit my mom at our hometown in kelantan (malaysia). tq for dropping by and left your comment and my blog. i really appreciate it!! the picture of snow makes me missing tokyo!!

Your page is such a gentle pause in the day. The mix of quotes you chose creates a steady rhythm of comfort and resilience, and the thread of hope running through all of them feels especially grounding. Your snowy photos add a quiet beauty that pairs so well with the reflective mood of the post. The little touches of humor and sweetness in the animal videos round everything out with warmth.
The saying by Yoda has been my guiding light for many years now. It is truly the key to a lot of problems. I will remember the one by Bob Goff from today. I have cried so much lately...
“Everything has a crack—that’s how the light gets in.” This quote really resonates with me today. It’s such a beautiful reminder to always hold on to hope, even when things feel broken or imperfect. Thanks for sharing! And the photos of the snow are just lovely,it truly looks like a soft white blanket covering everything.Have a lovely day, Lisa!
Dear Linda, hello! Wonderful quotes, very motivating. I like the one about hope, which is the bridge between today and tomorrow.
Tomorrow, February 23rd, is World Depression Awareness Day – and your quotes are always inspiring.
It's supposed to be +8°C here starting tomorrow, but today it's raining and +5°C, so spring is slowly returning. Warmest regards, I wish you a good, warm, and successful new week. May it be spring-like!

I really enjoyed your quotes this week. Hope brings us through so much to the other side. I also enjoyed your snow shadows. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.
I haven't listened to the Carpenters for a very long time. Karen had a lovely singing voice. It bought back good memories of my dad who enjoyed their music too. Thank you for sharing all those wonderful words and messages of hope.
Hi Linda my definition of hope is at least I still have food on my table, a shelter over my head, clothes to bring me warmth and cover my body. Close to you by Carpenters is one of my favorite songs. Thanks for sharing 3 of your own photos! Lovely. Is spring coming soon to Montreal Canada?
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit me and for your comments. Please use words and not only emoticons. All comments are moderated to deter spam, so for this reason comments will not appear immediately.
So many good things to think on. I like the one about everything having a crack and that's how the light gets in! And the tortoise!!!
