This Week's Encouragement

Hello and a warm welcome to everyone! I am so glad I started blogging again, it's been over 7 years! I am very glad to have found some of you from way back then at my old blog and I am equally as glad to have met some new people! I am happy to be able to post on my Chromebook laptop now, it is much easier and I can do more things as well than with the cellphone!

Thank you all so much for being here, for your visits and kind comments, I really appreciate it...and you!

Here are some quotations that I hope you will enjoy and find encouragement in.

Be the change that you wish to see in the world. - Mahatma Gandhi

Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen. - Michael Jordan

You can't help how you feel, but you can help how you behave. - Margaret Atwood

Life does not have to be perfect to be wonderful. - Annette Funicello

What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals. - Zig Ziglar

Dean Russo is a very talented artist. The following  gorgeous mini animal art print is made by this wonderful artist. He has given me permission to share his art on my blog here. I am providing a link back to his website beneath the painting. Please click on the link to see his art on his website. I think his paintings  are all beautiful, and anyone who loves animals and art will appreciate them. You can buy any for yourself or perhaps for a friend, family member or anyone that you know. I think they are beautiful and would make great gifts for yourself or anyone else. I really hope the link 🙏 works this time and brings you to his website when you click on it. If not, I hope that you will visit the website 😊 anyway. And in case the link does not act as a hyperlink, any tips that my blogger friends and followers can give me on how to do this will be greatly appreciated!  Thank you so much.

  34. Hi, Linda!

It was a delightful surprise to have you visit me at Shady's Place. Thank you for taking an interest in what I am doing over there, and congratulations on getting back into blogging after a seven year hiatus. I very much appreciate your "mission statement" at the top the page. Your blogging philosophy matches mine. Clearly, you share my desire to offer an oasis where people can escape the chaos and stress of their daily lives for a while and relax and unwind in a safe place filled with friends old and new.

The quotes you offered are inspiring. Gandhi gave us words to live by. As a little boy, I often dreamed of marrying Mouseketeer Annette someday. She came up with quite an empowering quote and I thank you for posting it. In human development workshops the 1970s and 80s, I studied the principles of champion salesman and motivational guru Zig Ziglar. I appreciate his quote as well.

Having browsed at the artwork on Dean Russo's site, I agree with you that he is a very talented artist. I notice that the wolf is one of his favorite subjects. His depictions of wolves in their natural habitat are splendid.

Like you, I am a boomer, age 75. You and I also match on our love of animals and nature, non-fiction reading, vintage advertising, oldies and disco sounds. It is exciting for me to be here among an entirely new group of people. I only recognize the names of two of your commenting followers and, even so, have not yet had any direct contact with those two folks. Perhaps, through you, I will make some new friends in the blogosphere. I should let you know that I scaled back my blogging activity a couple of years ago so that I only post around once a month and only make myself available on the blog circuit for the three day period immediately following the start of a new post. That said, I look forward to reconnecting with you each time I return to "active duty."

Thank you again for reaching out, dear Linda. Have a great month of May. I genuinely hope to see you again when I return to blogging around May 25.

  70. Linda,

So glad you’re back to blogging, Linda—my Mondays just got a whole lot better! 😊 These quotes were like a pep talk from wise (and slightly famous) friends. I especially loved the Margaret Atwood one… I’ll try to remember it next time I feel like throwing a shoe at the news! And that Dean Russo print—what a riot of color! Those star-gazing animals look like they know something we don’t (probably where the snacks are). Thanks for the inspiration, the laughs, and the cozy corner of the internet. See you next Monday!
