Hello dear friends and fellow bloggers, I hope you are all doing well! Thank you so much for visiting, and I truly appreciate your kind comments, it really means a lot to me.
I looked at the forecast for this summer 2025 in Montreal, and it is supposed to be a scorcher! Well, this was the word used in defining what it will be like. Last summer was very difficult for me, as it was the hottest summer I remember in my 68 years! I know that some people do better in the extreme heat than others. I am one who doesn't do well in this type of heat, so I make sure to drink plenty of water and stay out of the heat as much as I can. I love to take long walks in nature but when it gets this hot, I do my walking in a shopping mall, where it is air conditioned. While it may not be as therapeutic as a walk in nature, it is definitely safer. Please remember to drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. Here in Quebec we also get wildfires every summer, which adds to the heat and humidity, not to mention the air quality.
I have some quotes and thoughts for you this week that I hope will bring a smile to your face and provide some positivity for you. I am still working with how to place things where I want them, so if the images are kind of well....not very neat and tidy, please bear with me as I practice and learn how to do things better. What is most important to me is that you somehow benefit from my posts, and I appreciate you all! The reason I have put the messages in each image above each one is so that my readers can translate the messages into their own language, as the image cannot do this.
Character is...how you treat those who can do nothing for you.

I haven't heard what sort of Summer is predicted for Michigan. I'm not a fan of high heat, but I feel like the cold is worse!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your memes today!
Positive thoughts are always good! I hate any temperature above 78 then I start to melt. We are hoping today that Canada gets lots of rain so there are no fires this summer!
ReplyDeleteI have not heard about Georgias summer either. When you think of Canada - you think cool. Georgia is always hot. I am like you - hot weather - humidity - are not my friend. I stay in air conditioning! Enjoyed your sayings today.
ReplyDeleteI really hope we are not as bothered by fires this summer. I don’t love extreme heat, and it is especially difficult on my wife whose thermostat runs pretty hot.
ReplyDeleteHello, Linda! I wish you happy May days!
ReplyDeleteMe too ..... I am also one of those who doesn't do well in this type of heat. Winter is anytime better.
ReplyDeleteYour heartfelt post is a joy to read, and I admire your positivity, thoughtful reflections, and dedication to staying safe and making your content accessible despite the challenges of a hot Montreal summer.
ReplyDeleteHello! Thanks for visiting my blog. I enjoyed my visit here and am now following and will be back again to visit. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteI love your quotes! Especially the one about character and the one about kindness. You have spent a lot of time choosing them, I think. I did not know it gets really hot in Canada. Your flower and bee header is gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteHappy May. I hope your new government serves you well
ReplyDeleteWenn es so heiß ist, gehe ich am liebsten und den Wald oder ans Wasser. Dort ist es immer angenehm frisch 🙂
ReplyDeleteGanz liebe Grüße
Christine
Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. Spring is beautiful here in London. Warm without humidity. This will all change as summer approaches. Liked your one about the dog.
ReplyDeleteQuotes and thoughts are always pleasing for me to read, Linda.
ReplyDeleteTake care and keep cool when the warm weather arrives.
Ah, that's Canadian Moose Hound 😁
ReplyDeleteOn the coldest day in the winter I can dress warmly and get out and enjoy nature. It is impossible to escape oppressive heat. The perfect temperature range for me is from 19 to 23. But cooler is always better than hotter.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Linda and have a nice week. It's my first visit in your beautiful blog and I want to follow you under your posts.
ReplyDeleteYou have my best wishes for May and I hope the best for all of us.
I see that we have same troubles with your place, (I love Canada) like: fires in the summer, strong hot weather.
I also like your humor, my dear.
We 'll be in touch.
Love all the quotes. I have no idea what is expected for this summer's weather in our area. I don't handle the heat as well as I used to but I still prefer the heat over being cold.
ReplyDelete...I'm waiting to make a moose sighting! I see plenty of signs, but no moose.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI am not sure what our summer weather will be like. I do like taking my walks early in the morning before it is too hot. I enjoyed all the inspiring quote. The Maybelline kitty is a cute one. Take care, have a wonderful week.
Linda what a delightful post. Your quotes make me smile and think...especially the Beware of the Dog Sign. Since we don't have moose here...so fun! Hope you have a great week friend. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteAdmittedly I am not a fan of summer. I prefer the cold.
ReplyDeleteExcellent post
ReplyDeleteNeither my husband nor I do well in the heat, Linda, so summer is usually a dreaded season for us. I so enjoyed your uplifting memes, too. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI have noticed it is getting hotter and drier every year, even here in Scotland. In summer I go out in the early morning or late afternoon when it's cooler but I know from visiting my sister in Australia that's no use there as ten minutes after sunrise it's an oven all day long until midnight so she goes Mall walking as well in the summer months..
ReplyDeleteGreat quotes :) I too am not fond of very HOT weather, and I don't do great in very cold either, so there is usually not much time when all is perfect, but thankful for heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer that is for sure!
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree on paying attention to our thoughts, feelings and attitudes. That's a great quote.
ReplyDeleteDrinking two liters of water daily is a general recommendation for maintaining adequate hydration when the weather is to hot. This month the weather is never to hot and never to cold here on the 42° parallel.
Post script: on the 7th of May I will host a couple from Montreal. They will stay here two days before boarding the cruise ship.
What a lovely place your new blog is, Linda Dear!
ReplyDeleteI also don't love hot and Summer so much, indeed, I'm afraid of it!
They say that next one will last 5 months here in Italy, I just hope they are mistaking. Here during the last week it seemed Summer was already about to begin, now, fortunately, temperatures have gone a little down and it's raining, Thanks God!
Sending blessings on your new week

i enjoyed your blog and I think your header is just beautiful. Madeline
ReplyDeleteEvery quote is spot on and so very encouraging. Thank you for each one. We are expecting very warm (HOT) temps here in Texas....Makes me wish I lived up North. have a happy week
ReplyDeleteThat looks like my black cat! I don't like being outside when it's too hot but generally our summers are moderate. I did invest in a heat pump several years ago due to my upstairs bedrooms being hot as Hades if the weather was above 90. I'm worried about smoke this summer though and how wildfires will be handled, especially with what's going on with our federal government. :(
ReplyDeleteI love all the positive thoughts and cute pictures. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, I love your flower and bee header! I’m right there with you.I’m not a fan of hot weather either. Summers in Spain are always scorching, and last year was brutal, so I spent a lot of time indoors with the air conditioning.
ReplyDeleteYour quotes are such a treat, and I’ll definitely keep some in mind . Hope you have an amazing week!
These are great. Happy May :-D
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain. I do not love the heat either and I grew up in a tropical climate. I like a moderate heat so we can enjoy summer activities but when it becomes unbearable then it's no fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the positive quotes, I love them. My wife and I are big fans of the cooler weather too. Happy May and have a fantastic new week.
ReplyDeleteLinda,
ReplyDeleteWhat a heartfelt and thoughtful post—thank you for the warm reminder to care for ourselves, especially as the heat bears down. It sounds like summer in Montreal is already flexing its muscles! I'm with you—extreme heat can be tough to navigate, and your mall-walking solution is both clever and practical. Your quotes were like a cool breeze on a sweltering day—especially the one about gratitude making the soul sparkle. That one stuck with me. Wishing you a cool, calm, and wonder-filled week ahead!
John
Yes, it is so important to stay hydrated, I always carry water with me when the temperatures increase.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for the quotes.
Happy May wishes and have a good week ahead.
All the best Jan
I don't mind the heat if it's not to humid -- but once it gets that way, it's pretty miserable! I hope yours isn't too bad.
ReplyDeleteOur summers here in western Maryland are pretty nice. We don't usually get very hot temperatures.
ReplyDeleteI start each morning with a walk and a prayer. You're right it sets the tone for the day.
Great quote about gratitude making the soul sparkle. A thankful person is a happy person. :)
I'm not a fan of the extreme heat either so I'm grateful for climate-controlled environments like the mall.
ReplyDeletemy body does not tolerate the heat at all. i enjoy summer and all of the activities and festivals, i just wish it weren't so darn hot. we have a pool i can enjoy when i am home. i bought a neck fan that also helps. good reminders of how important it is to take good care of ourselves. we have had a nice blend of nice weather and rain, rain today!!
ReplyDeletesecond visit...i really enjoyed the memes!!
DeleteI had a laugh at a few of your quotes, I needed that. Thankyou. 😀
ReplyDeleteA lovely post Linda, thank you.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful text and great quotes.
I hate the heat too.
Greetings.
Staying hydrated and finding ways to stay cool, like walking in the mall, are definitely good strategies. It's thoughtful of you to consider the impact of the heat and wildfires on well-being. Thank you for sharing those positive and thought-provoking quotes.
ReplyDeleteHello there! I am your newest follower! We have much in common. I also want positive thoughts and encouragement on my blog. I love nature, walking and non fiction books. And we are the same age! And also, I have had a blog post in mind to share all the quotes on my calendar from last year. See, we think alike! Lovely blog you have. Stay healthy and active and keep writing. x
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I were both born in the UK but now live in a hot country. He waits impatiently for the cooler weather and rain each year, whilst I like the sunshine and heat.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing these quotes.
Not a fan of hot weather either!
ReplyDeleteWe have had a moose or two, or three amble through our yard before. That is a beautiful black cat. Tabbies are my favourite, then the black ones....
Of course I love the quotes! I don't mind the heat but don't like it when it gets really humid. I'm not a winter person and have always hated it. I guess being born in July might have something to do with it.
ReplyDeleteLeuke post met een aantal gevatte citaten met levenswijsheid. Die hitte is niet fijn, ik houd er ook niet van maar ook hier in Nederland wordt het onder invloed van de klimaatverandering ook steeds warmer.
ReplyDeleteGroeten,
Ad
Lovely post!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of hot days either. They're a difficult time for me.
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon I am so glad you found me here in blog land. I am following you now too-I am a 75 year old lady haha.
ReplyDeleteI do not do well with high temperatures in summer here either and Missouri can get very very hot We had a really rough winter so I am guessing we are do for a hot summer-hoping now.
hugs from the lake, Kathy
very inspirational..... i also like to stay out of the sun if i can
ReplyDeleteThat's a ginormous "dog" 🤣
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my blog Linda - much appreciated. God bless, Val
A bientôt, bisous bisous
Martine

ReplyDeleteHi Linda. Not sure how you found my blog, but thank you for the sweet comment about my cards. Enjoyed this post--especially the first quote. I'm not fond of heat and wildfires are a concern here, too. Hope you're having a lovely week, Greta
