A New Week, a Heat Wave for Many...Come on in and Relax or Cool Down!

Hello dear friends and fellow bloggers! Thank you so much for visiting me here today! I have a nice selection of things for you which I hope will bring a smile to your face, a laugh or just to give you a chance to relax and live in the moment! Since the heat wave is not only here in Montreal but in many other places, I hope that the extra waterfall and rain images and waterfall and birds taking a bath videos will serve to refresh you in some way!

Today and Tuesday is said to be, according to the weather forecast for Montreal, 35 Celsius...which converts to 46 Celsius if you factor in the humidity! In Fahrenheit, this is 114! Even 100 is dangerously high and even the 90's, so imagine over 100 Fahrenheit. Of course I plan to stay in, I got a large grocery order delivered on Friday and thanks to a tip from my good friend, Stella, I went to the pharmacy to purchase some electrolytes. Thank God I have an air conditioner.

I had a bit of a scare on Friday morning, even though that particular day was beautiful, cool and comfortable. The few days before it, though, were hot and humid. When I rose out of bed, I felt dizzy and lightheaded, so I grabbed the bed with my hand, sat back down, closed my eyes and took some deep breaths, then proceeded to get up with no further incident. I drank a couple of glasses of water, then went out. My first trip was to the pharmacy to get some electrolytes.

I made sure to see that I was able to take them with the medications I am on...the pharmacist said I could. Please note that "over the counter" or OTC doesn't necessarily mean "safe to take", especially if you are taking any prescribed medication. It is always good to check with a pharmacist or doctor to see if it is good for you.

So now that I have the electrolytes I will use them as needed during this type of intense heat and humidity. I continue to drink plenty of water and stay out of this heat as much as I can. Dear friends and fellow bloggers, please stay safe and hydrated! Sending you all much love and warm hugs.

Every time you take a shower, visualize washing away your stress and anxiety. Concentrate on the feel of the water upon your skin. Envision the power of the shower washing away your negative thoughts. Feel sadness, regret, anger and depression washing right off of you. Let it all go down the drain. The following photos are ones that I took here in Montreal. You can click on any image to see a larger view.

I took this photo near the water at sunset years ago. Ducks were swimming and it was so peaceful and beautiful there.

These Canada geese were pretty close to me when I took this photo years ago. They did not attack me, they were just eating and relaxing by the water. I took this photo at sunset 🌇 my favourite time of day.

I took this photo years ago in a nature park. Of course, whenever I see the water or a fountain, in this case, both, I am automatically drawn to it. This little red wing black bird decided to join me in appreciation of this lovely tranquil moment.

This photo was one I took in a nature park. It was so beautiful, green and calming. Even though I am still at the learning stages of taking photos, I like how this one turned out with the shadow of the leaves over the green swampy area.

Here in Montreal, there are many murals on buildings across the island! This is one that I took last week on my cellphone, still experimenting with taking photos this way.

By now I think you all know how much I love the water....fountains, ponds, rivers, lakes, streams, waterfalls, the ocean! Well, this is a 3 minute video of a lovely fountain with nice greenery. I found watching and listening to this to be so soothing. Hope you do as well.

I am so glad you are all enjoying the Just for Laughs Gags (Juste pour Rire in French) videos, which are done here in Montreal. Here is another one for you. Enjoy!

This video is short just like all the videos I post. This is a very nice and kind man who sings and plays the guitar....and his audience are very appreciative animals! Enjoy! This is a lovely video.

This last video is of some lovely birds chirping and enjoying a bath...a one minute long video which I hope you will find refreshing and enjoyable.

  1. I had a similar experience at the Sunday School event. Luckily I was with my husband and grabbed his arm the rest of the night to steady myself. He was the one who suggested I was dehydrated. And I thought about it and he was right. I am being more mindful of drinking water now in this crazy heat.

  3. We’ll all be coping with the heat for the next few days. We won’t be out much, and I hope that it will be early or late if we are. I hope that your episode was just one of those things.

  4. Paint your life with love, and it will blossom. Love that.
We are near 100 this week too - it's awful.
    Love the Canadian Geese.

  5. I'm so sorry you had that awful experience, Linda, but so happy that you've recovered. This heat is horrid, my friend, so please stay safe and cool. Air conditioned spaces are the best! And the kindness we show to others daily is as nourishing as our daily bread. Blessings!

  7. That's crazy hot for Canada! Here in Michigan we are predicted to be in the 100's most of the week. That's too hot for me, but I guess you have it worse.
Glad you are doing better and watching your electrolytes.

  8. 37C here yesterday and I sat at the balcony for 30 minutes to get some sun :-) It was HOT but I was fine. 35C sounds pretty darn hot for Canada.
