The following two photos are ones I took on my walks here in Montreal in September. You can click on each image to see a larger view.
A squirrel was on his way up a tree and stopped long enough to allow me to get this photo of him.
This is the same squirrel, deciding, a few moments later, to go down the tree. I can only imagine him thinking to himself as he posed for me, "Let's see what she looks like from this angle!" :)

hah..hah..hah... that squirrel is so cute! Your quip "Let's see what she looks like from this angle!" made me laugh! The FURniture joke too! I hope you are having a wonderful day, Linda. The weekend is just around the corner!
So, so many good ones today. Thank you for all of the, I had several favorites today and especially this one, “ Be kind to everything that lives. - Native American Proverb” - I love that.
Make peace a priority. Now there's a motto for my month of October!! Is there really a place that has that many stray cats? Wow!! Happy October to you💗🍁💗🍁
We can only hear God's still, small voice when we choose quiet over busyness, and learn to listen, Linda. I loved your photos of the squirrel that can't make up his mind, and the Just for Laugh video reminds me of the Old Candid Camera we use to show in the States. Blessings, my friend, and thank you for the inspiration you always share with all of us!
Wow that is a lot of stray cats. I wonder if that is in Turkey where they adore and care for all the cats. I love that video, makes me want to be surrounded by my kitties.
Good advice(s), dear friend Linda. To the psitive! Yesterday I had a lot! I hope Latest Kate is right. A "to be list" is a wonderful idea! As is the sinking ship one´s. Perspective, right? Ohhhh, the squirrel! Don´t prank me like that - I´d called ambulance for the frozen woman at once! ;-) Have a wonderful day, sending extra-warm hugs and much love!
My favorite quote is the second one. That squirrel gave you two poses! Maybe he was trying to find his best side! He blends in so well with the tree trunk!!
OH what a garden full of blooming wisdom My favourite is the "to be list". Things I want to be...peaceful, happy, calm, loving, healthy, awesome Best plan
You managed to photograph a squirrel, sweet! Thanks for all the quotes, sayings, and videos. Now I'm starting my day well with your post! I wish you good days.Hugs Elke
Lovely memes, Linda. The ice video, lol. The meditation music, not for me and the squirrel always nice to see as we don't have them down here. Take care.
Awwww, the stray cat video is so freakin' cute! So is the squirrel in the photos <3 The FURniture meme is really funny. I also really like the blink at the negative meme. So lovely posts! Have a nice weekend!
Brilliant photos of that little squirrel :-D Good quotes. With 6 cats I can totally relate to the FURniture! And totally love, "Be kind to everything that lives." We must take care of our living planet and all the creatures on it! :-D
Hope you have been well and in good spirits since last we connected, dear friend! The inspirational meme that first resonated with me is: "Fill the world with your light." Dark days are upon us here in the U.S. and in much of the world. The darker it gets, the more light I intend to radiate. The next is: "Be kind to everything that lives." I respect life in all its forms. Another with which I wholeheartedly agree is: "Exercise not only changes your body, it changes your mind, your attitude and your mood." I often feel tired before I start exercising, yet infused with energy upon its completion. Love your pictures of the curious squirrel wondering what you were up to as much as you wondered the same about him. Maybe he was hoping you were drawing close to offer him some food. The stray cats video illustrates that you cannot remain depressed when you are giving lubbins to grateful animals. Seems it would be traumatic to encounter a frozen woman inside an ice chest, but those pranked people seemed to take it in stride. I remember Mr. Potato Head from my boyhood.
As always, your post was fun and therapeutic, dear friend Linda. I have returned to blogging with a new post of my own and invite you to swing by if time permits. Otherwise, I will hopefully see you at the end of the month as I finish this year's Halloween celebration. Take care and have a safe and happy October!
That first one really hit home. I'm trying very hard right now to preserve my mental health. I took a look at Lizzie and thought "She knows nothing going on except when it's time to eat." There's much we can learn from them. (Don't you love how squirrels pose?!)
“Sadness can be a garden of compassion. If you keep your heart open to everything, your pain can become your greatest ally in the life-long search for love and wisdom." — This rings very true. I too had such an experience in life when I lived abroad for many years. I knew sadness and loneliness, but I did not give in. I looked for my own path, and because of that peace came to me, and I can say that I became a different person—perhaps even a better and wiser one. Yesterday I learned that Jane Goodall has passed away, someone you often spoke of. It’s such a shame; she was a wonderful person, and without her the world will not be the same. Sending you my warm wishes and hugs!
Dealing with a toxic person is like learning to be a beekeeper. You know there's honey to be found somewhere, but is it worth getting stung over?
Linda ... oh my goodness, the above quote that you shared today is just what I needed. I had a friend who continued to take advantage of me. I decided this year I would not allow it anymore. It was hard to do at first, because I felt bad for sticking up for myself. After time I realized, I felt better, much better without the hurt she would do to me. I have forgiven her, but I also no longer want the toxic drama she would put me through.
Hello Dear Friend, it is hard for me to pick a favorite, such beautiful images and lovely photos of that sweet little squirrel, plus thee videos. Thank you so much and I hope you are having a wonderful day :)
Good day Linda ☀️ Luckily you pointed out that there is a squirrel in both your photos. The colour of the squirrel is so similar to the tree bark trunk colour that the squirrel is under good camouflage. What a cute squirrel going up and down the tree, can't decide. Have a nice day! 🌻
Hello Linda ... I hope the new month of October has started well for you. A great collection again, I particularly like the words 'I feel energised and happy when I eat well.' Sweet photographs of the squirrel, quite a few come into the garden here and I do enjoy watching them ...
Cute pictures of the squirrel. :). Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
I can't wait to stop by to see your new posts. They are always so meaningful and uplifting. This week there are so many that speak to me starting with the one about the toxic person and the bee stings... love it.
Hi linda, Happy Singapore Children's Day (3 Oct 2025, Friday) to any and everyone who is young at heart and who retains childlike innocence, wisdom and peace. Hah hah FURniture, that is MEOWsome! I am sure PH can relate to it. Lol!
Agrees with the quote, exercise not only changes your body, it changes your mind, your attitude and your mood. (The fatty kitten looks so cute with the leg stretching up and posing for the camera). Ahhh ships don't sink because technically and scientifically their bottom part is a huge hollow filled with an air, making the ship's overall density less than that of water, hee hee. Thanks for ship's quote from Healthy place.
It's easy to get caught up in the chaos, but it's the small acts of self-care that really make all the difference. Thank you for sharing these gems of wisdom!
So many great quotes (thank you) but I have to say 'Be Kind to Everything That Lives' really resonated with me. We would all do well to pay attention to those words.
You know you're really stressed when you start getting on your own nerves. hahahaha...sometimes i say something similar, that even i can't stand to be around me!! awesome selections, have a wonderful weekend!!
Your posts always feel like a gentle exhale—a moment to pause and breathe in kindness. The “to be list” especially resonated with me today; what a beautiful shift in perspective. And that squirrel! He’s clearly a natural in front of the camera, adding a touch of whimsy to all the wisdom.
Hello Linda :) You come up with the goods every time. and they make me smile. love the cat lifting it's leg doing exercises and the fur, and furniture caption ha ha what a good one.The dog and cat photo and quote to be kind to all living things is lovely. Thank you Linda for making my day even better for having visited. All the best Sonjia.
Oh my goodness, that is a lot of stray cats. They are all certainly chilled. The chorus of purrs us fabulous. That squirrel is a funny fellow. As for the quotes, so, so many to think upon and fill one's day with lovely thoughts.

A couple days back I had a brief chat with a squirrel.
ReplyDeleteThat first one really hit home. I'm trying very hard right now to preserve my mental health. I took a look at Lizzie and thought "She knows nothing going on except when it's time to eat." There's much we can learn from them. (Don't you love how squirrels pose?!)
