Celebrating December and Christmas!
Hello dear friends and fellow bloggers! A very warm welcome to you all! Thank you so much for taking the time to come and visit me here! I really appreciate you all!
I will continue my blog posts throughout the Christmas holidays! So every Monday and Thursday, including all of December into January 2026, there will be a new post! Some people feel lonely, depressed or stressed at this time of year, and I hope that my posts will offer some brightness, comfort and joy! Thank you all so much for your love and support, it really means a lot to me!
Here are today's picks, which I hope will brighten your day.
No matter how much the cats fight, there always seem to be plenty of kittens. - Abraham Lincoln :)
Nature (PBS)
Never be a prisoner of your past. It was just a lesson, not a life sentence. - Unknown
Never discredit your gut instinct. You are not paranoid. Your body can pick up on bad vibrations. If something deep inside of you says something is not right about a person or situation, trust it.
Moving on can be scary and painful but it's not as hard as staying when you know it's time to go. Remember, you're stronger than you think.
Princess Sassy Pants & Co.
Nothing is more important than empathy for another human being's suffering. Nothing. Not a career, not wealth, not intelligence, certainly not status. We have to feel for one another if we're going to survive with dignity. - Audrey Hepburn
The following photos are my own, which I took with my cellphone in November. The first two...I had breakfast at a delicatessen, and I ordered two sunny side up eggs with tomato slices and rye toast, coffee and water. I always order my toast without butter, opting to put the butter on myself, because I like my toast crispy and not soggy.
I took this photo on November 12th in downtown Montreal. This was a Christmas tree in a shopping mall.
The following video is a Just for Laughs Gag (Juste pour Rire in French), done here in Montreal. Enjoy! :)

Dear Linda, your 3 photos taken with your cell phone look really good 👍😊 wow, so early Nov 12, the Christmas 🎄 tree is ready to give Xmas cheer to shoppers. I love your toasts and eggs as your eggs are done nicely 😋🤤
What a lovely blog post! I enjoyed the videos, and oh! how I love Anne Murray. When my children were little, we had a tape of Anne Murray singing children's songs. We listened to it in the car many times.
This is such a beautiful reminder that no one is alone, especially during the holidays. Thank you for spreading love, warmth and hope. Your posts always brighten my day!
Wise advice from that snowman! And yes, laughter is so infectious, isn't it. "Snowbird" is still my most favourite Anne Murray song. I've loved it ever since I first heard it in 1970 -- yikes, 55 years ago! The arrangement and instrumentation of that song are as beautiful as her lilting voice. I also remember watching Anne Murray on CBC's "Singalong Jubilee" before she hit it big.
"Nothing is more important than empathy for another human being's suffering. Nothing. Not a career, not wealth, not intelligence, certainly not status. We have to feel for one another if we're going to survive with dignity. - Audrey Hepburn"
If only more people in power believed that!X. But that doesn't stop us from doing it.
Happiness does begin with a smile, Linda. As I watched the Coca-Cola video, I reflected upon the contagious effect that laughter has on our very being. Thanks for your inspiration shared here, my friend. Blessings always!
Dear Linda, afternoon greetings from Malaysia! I love seeing your bread/toast pic..looks so yummy, especially u put butter on your own to maintain the crisp part. anyway, my chose quote for today is : Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence, and face your future without fear....indeed!! life must go on and we need to live it to the fullest! have a nice day, take care, #virtualhugs from afar
How contagious laughter is! I can't help but laugh too, and even my sweetheart can't help but laugh while watching the video. This means so much to me, and your wisdom is wonderful too. I love it, it gives me strength and lifts my spirits. Thank you! Your breakfast looks delicious! I'm so glad you're continuing!!! Love and hugs, Elke
My favourite this time: "Advice from a snowman...be a jolly, happy soul. Spend time outdoors. Avoid meltdowns. Be well-rounded. Live well, life is short!" ⛄️ Thank you, Linda ❤️
Dear Linda, Thinking of lonely people is especially important today. Loneliness is heightened by the Christmas holidays, and I hope this thought is very welcome to our many readers. Thank you so much for your kind visit. See you soon. Morris
Love the memes you have chosen this Thursday, Linda. Your meals looks great and you are like me, I don't like my toast soggy either. Just for laughs, good..lol Laughing is catching, a nice video. Rather liked that song the Snowbird at the time when it came out and the lady with the bird, bless her.
At times it takes a little extra effort to happily get through the whole month of December! It's nice that you will be here for those that need a boost!
Our past "was just a lesson, not a life sentence" ... I'm sure this quote was written by a psychologist. I also like the quote about the silence (let the silence do the talking). Greetings
Wish we could always take past as lesson not sentence, but it is difficult. I will also be posting daily throughout the holidays, such is the business of us poor little spies....
So many good ones today, Linda. "Never be a prisoner of your past..." really spoke to me this morning. I always enjoy seeing the photos you take when you are out and about. Now I'm hungry for eggs and tomatoes!
All the thoughts and quotes are very wise. I especially like the second thought by the unknown author. Thank you for sharing such wonderful words with us.
my favorite quote today...let's stop telling each other how busy we are. i loved the coke commercial, i had not seen that!! and i REALLY enjoyed the video about the sparrow!! enjoy the rest of the week!!
Dear Linda :) Thank you for all these wise and possitive quotes. I like the one with the caption "Inspire Possitive Soul Sensations," and the story about the little bird that was rescued and raised by a kind lady., just like you Linda. Have a happy December Take care Sonjia.
Hello dear Linda, thank you for another dose of simple wisdom that goes straight to the heart. The videos you share always bring a smile to my face, and the story of the little sparrow is truly touching! Winter lasted only a moment here, and now the gloomy autumn weather has returned. Warm greetings to you, and I wish you a lovely weekend!
I like quite a few this time and it is hard to pick. I like the first two. I like this one - Sometimes, you just have to bow your head, say a prayer and weather the storm. I love the bird photo itself. I like this one too as I am going through letting go of some peole!
Moving on can be scary and painful but it's not as hard as staying when you know it's time to go. Remember, you're stronger than you think.
Hello Linda and Happy Thursday. Great post ... Thank you for everything you've shared, especially the Anne Murray video and lovely to see Happy the Sparrow :)
You are very right, dear friend Linda - not everybody is happy and festive in the season - wonderful of you to continue your blogging for them! Your blog always cheers me up!"! And the Snowman is so right - as all the others are, too! Ohhhh, the squirrel! You breakfast looks good! And the tree is beautiful. Love the Coca-Cola one!!!! And Sparrow Happy´s Story.Much love and warm hugs 🥰
Hello Friend, you are right, a lot of people struggle during this time of year. My friend is struggling this year, she has a lot of family issues going on. Your posts give me quotes to share with her. Thank you, Carla
Today, my number one priority is empathy. So important and so necessary in a world that rushes headlong, trampling on sensitivity along the way. Your posts are very positive. I read and watch them with pleasure :)
Your posts always bring brightness, comfort and joy, Linda. Today I absolutely loved the squirrel. I can imagine "our" squirrel saying something like that. Your breakfast looks delicious and I understand what you mean by soggy toast - I don't like that either. Have a lovely weekend!
Linda as always my visit here is just wonderful. First Anne Murray's snowbird takes me back memory lane. What a beautiful voice and this is the perfect song for the season. Ah what a story about Happy the sparrow. Imagine what dedication it took to care for such a wee bird. Makes me think of the verse where Jesus tells his listeners about how a sparrow doesn't fall to the ground without His Father's notice. Guess this certainly holds true in this particular bird's life. Have a great weekend friend. Hugs!
Yes this time of year can be very hard for many people, it is great that you keep posting such positive quotes to get our minds on the right track :) Wishing you a wonderful December ahead!
That's so true...live well, life is short (I shall steal that quote). I love your breakfast of healthy rye bread, eggs & tomatoes. The year is coming to a close...and soon Christmas will be upon us. Wishing you a good weekened ahead.
Lovely quotations, as always, dear Linda! The beautiful winter landscape (Burroughs) made me dream. That could be our landscape in March... :) Have a happy weekend!
Hi, Linda, thank you for visiting/commenting my blog, much appreciated. Great advice memes, love the snowman one. Your breakie looks delish, I'm with ya on the crisp toast. I will even spread butter on each bite sometimes, lol. Hope you are keeping warm up thar! xoxo
Thanks for comforting people who may be stressed, lonely or depressed during this Christmas holiday season, you are such a kind soul, Linda. I wish God will bless you abundantly. Ok, next will look at your memes, then your own photos and lastly the third component the videos you share.
"When you are enthusiastic about what you do, you feel the positive energy. It's very simple." - Paulo Coelho. I like the "Zen" feel of this quote and photo (The stones, the lotus flower, the water and the lighted candle). Some of the memes remind me of animals and plants hibernation during Winter. "Always trust your gut. It knows what your head hasn't yet figured out." - This also a good one. Your first two own photos showed a very comforting and healthy breakfast.
Next, video. I love that story and video of Happy the sparrow (rescued bird). I like sparrows, they are tiny, cute and their beaks don't look as threatening as crows.
You have outdone yourself with this post, Linda, chockablock with all these beautiful and uplifting and interesting quotes! I see you are in Montreal, one of my favourite cities. One of my grandmothers grew up there and I lived there a couple of years and summers going to McGill. Always has a special place in my heart. Happy December to you too!
I'm so happy to read that you will be continuing your blog posts throughout the Christmas holidays. Your posts definietly offer some brightness, comfort and joy. You are so sweet and I just love that about you. You started off with a LOL meme with the "No matter how much the cats fight, there always seem to be plenty of kittens" ~ Bahaha! That made me laugh out loud! Your breakfast at the delicatessen looks delicious! My Mom loved rye bread and always ate that. They were giving away free bread at the local charity shop last night and they had plenty of rye bread to choose from. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend and you are staying warm up there!
Your post radiates warmth and encouragement, and the mix of uplifting quotes, cheerful photos, and lighthearted videos creates such a comforting space. I especially enjoyed the playful touches alongside the thoughtful reminders, which together capture the spirit of December beautifully.
Non-soggy toast for the win! Where I am, it's still freezing in the spring too. And the last few years we've had the heat in in June. No lie. Crazy. But also funny. Wishing you a great weekend, Linda.
Anne Murray -- definitely one of my favorites!!! GREAT video about the smile and laughter. But ALL of your graphics are wonderful. You are such a giver of cheer and encouragement! THANK YOU!
Can't believe we've already hit December. This year zoomed by! 😆 Wishing you a cozy wrap-up to the year with family and friends, Linda. And thanks, as always, for your ever-encouraging graphics. Warm hellos from perpetually tropical Indonesia! 💛
Hi Linda! It is Sunday morning here and I am reading your post at a very leisurely pace. The tuxedo cat at the start of your post is so cute, reminds me of my late kitten TuTu. I am glad that you are blogging through Christmas and so am I. I really like your breakfast at the deli. Warm toast spread with butter is lovely and sunny side up eggs with tomato slices make a nutritious meal, That squirrel quote is hilarious hah..hah... I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
I don't comment often because there are always so many comments already, but I do enjoy all the sayings/maxims and I like the photos you take, the eggs and tomatoes loks yummy and I like my toast crispy too. Here at home I never butter it right away.
Toast is definitely better crispy!! I liked the quote about the past that we shouldn't be attached to it. Beautiful photos and quotes. Have a great week!!
Your posts are always thoughtful and thought provoking and bring a smile each week. Thank you, Linda. The advice from a snowman and the squirrel are my favourites this time. Such a sweet story about the sparrow too. Have a good week whatever the weather x
Lovely post. It’s like a little pocket of light during the busy holiday season. I love how you mixed thoughtful quotes with peaceful reminders and glimpses of nature; it makes it feel both inspiring and comforting
How thoughtful of you, Linda. And that's true. This season and especially around the holiday, a lot of people experience depression. Looking forward to your uplifting posts.
Linda, as ever so many uplifting and beautiful thought to think upon and cause one's heart to smile. How right you are to say there are many at this time of year who are lonely and sad. I hope many happen upon your uplifting blog this festive season and dwell upon the many, many truths and perhaps, their hearts and day is just that little bit lighter and brighter.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit me and for your comments. Please use words and not only emoticons. All comments are moderated to deter spam, so for this reason comments will not appear immediately.

ReplyDeleteThat story of Happy is precious. I love it.
ReplyDeleteThese photos and memes are full of heart and life. Yes, holidays can be hard but these are so uplifting!

Non-soggy toast for the win! Where I am, it's still freezing in the spring too. And the last few years we've had the heat in in June. No lie. Crazy. But also funny. Wishing you a great weekend, Linda.

ReplyDeleteAnne Murray -- definitely one of my favorites!!! GREAT video about the smile and laughter. But ALL of your graphics are wonderful. You are such a giver of cheer and encouragement! THANK YOU!
ReplyDeleteDays are so short most of December. After the 21st it start slowly letting light in.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely inspiration and your sweet comments on my blog!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe we've already hit December. This year zoomed by! 😆 Wishing you a cozy wrap-up to the year with family and friends, Linda. And thanks, as always, for your ever-encouraging graphics. Warm hellos from perpetually tropical Indonesia! 💛
ReplyDeleteHi Linda!
ReplyDeleteWonderful quotes heading into the weekend!
ReplyDeleteHave a great one!
I order my toast with no butter also, I like the Cardinal bird poster. I have one at my feeder here in Gaspe. It is out of his range to be here.
ReplyDeleteI don't comment often because there are always so many comments already, but I do enjoy all the sayings/maxims and I like the photos you take, the eggs and tomatoes loks yummy and I like my toast crispy too. Here at home I never butter it right away.
ReplyDeleteToast is definitely better crispy!!
ReplyDeleteI liked the quote about the past that we shouldn't be attached to it. Beautiful photos and quotes.
Have a great week!!
ReplyDeleteMost days I only feel like talking to my dog. He's a wonderful listener.
ReplyDeleteYour opening words are very kind.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog. :) I also have days that I only want to talk with my dog. ;)
ReplyDeleteYour posts are always thoughtful and thought provoking and bring a smile each week. Thank you, Linda. The advice from a snowman and the squirrel are my favourites this time. Such a sweet story about the sparrow too.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week whatever the weather x
Bonsoir

Lovely quotes and pictures :) Have a nice day!
Lovely post. It’s like a little pocket of light during the busy holiday season. I love how you mixed thoughtful quotes with peaceful reminders and glimpses of nature; it makes it feel both inspiring and comforting
ReplyDeleteHow thoughtful of you, Linda. And that's true. This season and especially around the holiday, a lot of people experience depression. Looking forward to your uplifting posts.
ReplyDeleteLinda, as ever so many uplifting and beautiful thought to think upon and cause one's heart to smile. How right you are to say there are many at this time of year who are lonely and sad. I hope many happen upon your uplifting blog this festive season and dwell upon the many, many truths and perhaps, their hearts and day is just that little bit lighter and brighter.
ReplyDeleteGreat quote about the bumblebee.
