Thoughts and Reflections
Hello dear friends and fellow bloggers! A very warm welcome to you all! Thank you so much for taking time to come and visit me here! It really means a lot to me!
I want to wish you all a very happy and safe Christmas! I love you all and really appreciate your kind support!
I will continue to post throughout Christmas and New Year! My last post before Christmas will be on Christmas Eve. My posts will continue on Mondays and Thursdays.
Here are today's picks, which I hope will brighten your day!
It takes no more time to see the good side of life than to see the bad. - Jimmy Buffett
The heart can be a bit of a hoarder, stockpiling grudges, harsh words and past pain as if each were a priceless artifact - rather than a ticket stub to a show that's long since ended. Unfortunately these keepsakes take up precious space where new joy could be doing cartwheels. And so we need to recognize that every past hurt is not meant to be a tenant with a lease, but merely a traveler passing through.
When a storm is coming, all other birds seek shelter. The eagle alone, avoids the storm by flying above it. So, in the storms of life...may your heart soar like an eagle.
The following photos are my own, which I took with my cellphone on December 2nd. I was at a hospital that day for an appointment with my ophthalmologist. There is a beautiful chapel in this hospital. I was early for my appointment, so I went to the chapel first and took these photos. You can click on any image to see a larger view.
These last photos were all taken in the same park as my previous post! Yes, with my cellphone and at night! I was so thrilled with the decorations the city put in this park here in Montreal that I had to take these photos and share them all with you!
I love the shimmers of red light from this Christmas tree reflecting in the snow!
The following video is a Just for Laughs Gag (Juste pour Rire in French) done here in Montreal! Enjoy! :) I am sharing a double dose of Just for Laughs Gags for your enjoyment! :)

my favorite "there is a light in you that nothing can extinguish"! your cell phone takes very nice pictures!! the decorations in the park are beautiful!!
Oh, Linda, that chapel in the hospital is amazing! Such wonderful photos you took to remind us of the Who is the Great Healer. May you have the most blessed of Christmases, my friend!
Your photos of the park are unbelievable. They look like Christmas cards or calendar pages!! And the hospital chapel is so ornate and amazing, you would never know it is not in a real church. Love the Wisteria photo in the Willa Cather quote!
Beautiful pictures! And I love, "The heart can be a bit of a hoarder, stockpiling grudges, harsh words and past pain as if each were a priceless artifact - rather than a ticket stub to a show that's long since ended. Unfortunately these keepsakes take up precious space where new joy could be doing cartwheels. And so we need to recognize that every past hurt is not meant to be a tenant with a lease, but merely a traveler passing through."
Hi Linda, thanks for visiting my blog. I love hearing from readers in Canada, a place dear to us as our daughter lives there with her family. What a great list of pertinent sayings, with a message or two for us all. Love your photos of the beautiful chapel, and of course, the snow scenes. Merry Christmas.
Your photos of the chapel and the park are beautiful! All the quotes and words of wisdom are so well chosen. They're truly uplifting for everyday life. Merry Christmas! Hugs, Elke
Such lovely pictures from the park! Also this one made me laugh "It is impossible to keep a straight face in the presence of one or more kittens." I think my face often was one of despair, especially with my last one, lol.
It's a beautiful thought that there's a light within us that nothing can extinguish. It's true, at Christmas, all roads lead home. It's also a time to do something special for yourself and others. Warmest regards :)
The chapel looks wonderful, Linda. Your photos of the snow I enjoyed, always good to see it. The memes are also nice to read and some so heartwarming. Just for laughs are always good for a laugh.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas as well Linda. I hope this Christmas week brings you much joy and happiness. I pray we all allow the Light of God to shine through us. Blessings.
What beautiful photos of the chapel and the park. The sayings are wonderful again. I wish you and all your loved ones a Merry Christmas and, above all, a healthy 2026. Best regards Irma
Dear Linda, thank you for these wonderful quotes and the little squirrel made me smile! The chapel is lovely and I simply love the decorations in the park!
Linda, the chapel is amazing. And the nighttime holiday decorations are wonderful. Your phone has a great night mode! BTW, maybe too personal a question, but are you out there alone at night? I hope not. Even in our small city, I would not be comfortable doing so anymore, things have changed too much. Anyway, stay safe and Merry Christmas! 🎄🎅😊
Haha Jack Sparrow has some gems in words :) Winter is definitely not my season... and we don't get snow here! Ain't that true that sometimes the only thing you can control is letting go of control! It's a pretty tough lesson! Have a wonderful Christmas and a Blessed New Year!
I'm always looking forward to your posts full of wonderful quotes and nuggets of wisdom! Your photos of the hospital chapel and Montreal's Christmas decorations are gorgeous! xxx
Hello Linda, Beautiful quotes and photos. The church is lovely. The Christmas trees all lit up at night are pretty. Take care, enjoy your day! Wishing you a happy Christmas week!
Thanks for all the lovely words of wisdom for this week, dear Linda, hope you will have a peaceful Christmas Eve and Christmas this week. In my country we cook beans for Christmas Eve, so that is what I will be doing on Wednesday LOL
Olá minha querida amiga Linda. Suas fotos ficaram maravilhosas. Não sei como o meu corpo reagiria com o inverno canadense. A reflexão que eu mais gostei, foi a primeira. Grande abraço do seu amigo do Brasil.
This weather is no longer fun for me. Someone fix this! And by the way...the feeder is empty! :) Heh heh, what a great picture and thought. Squirrels are so cute.
Las frases y reflexiones como siempre muy acertadas, nunca he visto ese tipo de bicicletas con un patín delantero. La capilla del hospital aunque pequeña tiene su encanto y las luces de navidad del parque bonitas. Los videos son especiales.
Dear Linda, wishing you a safe and happy Christmas 🎄 too. Your night photos are so clear and lovely. I can see the thick white snow on the ground below the decorated Christmas trees clearly in your photos.
Oi Linda! Esta época natalina é muito bonita, e no frio, com neve ou não, nada melhor que está em casa com os gatos e a família. Aqui é bastante quente mas justamente hoje começou a chover. Adorei as mensagens e fotos! Boas festas! Beijos nas bochechas! :-)🎅
I've become quite addicted to reading your posts! Today Robert Frost and smiling when around kittens are my favorite...since both are true for me right now. We have snow and my daughter just got a kitten!! Merry Christmas!

dear linda! morning greetings from kuala lumpur! i have been very bz with work last few days, and hence i could not visit ur lovely blog as usual. anyway, my chosen quote today is : There's no place like home on a snowy evening.! i always love snowy view although my country doesn't snow, but because i had experience living in notts, UK, for almost 2 yrs including the winter, so i always cherish those snowy moments ;) and my recent visit to swiss feb 2025 also rekindles all those snowy moments ;) I hope to experience snowy holiday again in 2027 (after my son finishes his exam)
Good evening Linda time now around 10.18pm over the other side of the globe. I will like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Ok back to your post. I go from below. Your own photos, yes I love that park with colourful Christmas 🎄 trees decorated with shimmering lights! Stay safe and keep warm when you are taking these photos out in the cold and slippery park.
Montreal with its winter lights is my dream of Christmas. The music of the Little Drummer Boy is a joy to listen to. May peace and joy be yours this Christmas.
"May the true spirit of Christmas shine in your heart and light your path. Wishing you a season that's merry and bright! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!"

I so believe in the not holding grudges, especially the older I get, it takes up way too much of your time and thoughts. Wow that is a gorgeous chapel, I don't think any of our hospitals have ones that lovely, but I don't know. The park does look so pretty with all the lighted trees, I do love the lights this time of year! Merry Christmas!
I feel hopeful to see the shimmering light on the trees in the cold but bracing air. Wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a Peaceful New Year. Yoko
Have a peaceful and blessed Christmas, dear Linda! My wish for Christmas is, may there be love and peace on Planet Earth. It's love that keeps us alive. Sun had set in SG, just now I could see Planet Moon and the Sun at the same time. Birds flying in the sky and chirping with blue sky and white clouds. What a gorgeous and peaceful sight from my house. Warm hugs and love from SG.
Que a luminosidade da natividade sagrada possa recarregar as baterias do seu coração para o próximo ano e que continues á irradiar luz através de palavras. Feliz Natal.
The mix of gentle wisdom, winter reflections, and lighthearted moments creates such a comforting rhythm. The chapel photos are especially moving, and the park lights against the snow feel almost magical. I love how each quote nudges the mind in a different direction, from letting go of old hurts to finding strength in storms. This whole post feels like a warm pause in the middle of a busy season.
