Sometimes we need more courage to face whatever is ahead, especially when we really do not know what is ahead, but we moved forward in faith anyway. I love the cat pictures too. These were all good. ReplyDeleteI loved your posts on courage and integrity. In these days, people talk a lot about ethics, but most don't really pratice it. In my day, we never talked about it - everyone just assumed we would do the right thing, and if not there were serious consequences!

Two of the memes in this post that resonated with me most are the one about the need to have confidence and the one equating fear with a barrier to your progress and happiness. Another good one is regarding fear as an opportunity to be brave. "Turn fear into power," we used to preach in our NLP motivational seminars. I was a trainer in the program. "Do the right thing because it is right" is another important one. How many of today's politicians actually do that? Practically none, and it makes me sick at heart! "Be brave. Even if you're not, pretend to be. Nobody can tell the difference." In the seminar program, we boiled it down to "Act as if."
You took some great pictures of the snowy scenes around Montreal, Linda. The Just for Laughs gag was a hoot. They go to a lot of trouble to stage those pranks, don't they? I am still not totally convinced the subjects are real people and not actors. If I were a shut-in, that tiny horse would surely lift my spirits. Animals bring us out of ourselves. I hope that toddler boy was able to cope with the loss of his friend the garbage man. I'm thinking he will latch onto the next one when his family moves to a house on a different route. If not, I hope O.D. swings by to visit his little buddy occasionally as the months and years roll by. The MTM theme song and show opening sequence made me miss those happier, more optimistic times, especially remembering that the series was set in Minneapolis.
