Hello dear friends and fellow bloggers! A very warm welcome to you all!
I want to thank each and every one of you for your concerns, your prayers, your thoughts and kind wishes in reference to my health, I really appreciate you all so much!
I mentioned in my last post about my health that I am having issues with my throat. Well, the issues are as follows...dysphagia (difficulty swallowing) and chronic cough! I did see a doctor on Tuesday last week and thus far have had one x-ray done on Thursday, which the doctor sent me for, and the results are supposedly within 3 to 5 business days, which will be sent to the doctor.
I have a second test I need to go for, which will be in early March...however, if there is a cancelation, they will call me for an earlier appointment.
My appetite for food has been very weak because of all the issues I am having; however, I am eating! I eat as healthy as I can, so rest assured I am not starving. My weight is 130 pounds, and I think I am 5 feet 2 inches tall, so I am not overweight nor am I tiny, I suppose average.
I will keep this brief, but this is what I know so far. Your continued prayers, thoughts and well wishes are very much appreciated.
A heartfelt thanks to you all! My Monday and Thursday regular posts will continue, as always and I hope they help to brighten your day!
I hope the doctors can figure out what's going on.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed the doctors will get this under control. I hope you feel better soon ... and that the doctor will see you asap.
ReplyDeleteI hope whatever it is, it's easily treated, Linda. Continued thoughts and prayers to you. 🙏❤️
ReplyDeleteHoping the doctor gets clear answers very soon so you can receive the treatment you need right away, Linda. Please know my prayers are with you 🤗

ReplyDeletethecontemplativecat here. Sorry for your illnesses. I have just been diagnosed as having Parkinson's. Life has taken detours. Keep going, I've been told. I will, but boy howdy. it is hard.
ReplyDeleteHi! Thanks for the post!
ReplyDeleteSending tons of prayers your way and I hope they get to the bottom of your issues soon.
ReplyDeleteKeeping you in good thoughts and prayers, Linda. I had a friend who had that with her throat and he found meat the most difficult thing to swallow.

Oh yeah, dysphagia . . . that was an issue for me too about a decade ago. The doctors did all the usual tests, plus a gastroscopy and I think even an MRI to rule out various things. They came to the conclusion it was stress-related. And you know what? I think they were right. Once I retired, things settled right down and it hasn't been an issue for me since. I can't remember the last time my throat seized up. I hope your situation has a similar good outcome!
ReplyDeleteAnd while I'm yakking here, do you happen to take a statin prescription for cholesterol control? Sometimes they cause short but persistent coughing as a side effect. Switching to another brand of statin can eliminate the issue. I had to switch from Lipitor to Crestor for that reason many years ago but it did the trick and stopped the cough.
Anyway, best wishes that all will turn out well!
Will continue to pray!!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed that you will have some answers and a solution soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update.
ReplyDeleteContinuing to pray.
We will pray.....and, hope, everything goes well soon.
ReplyDeleteDear Linda, I don't know if you believe, for Chinese, they believe if your age hits 19 or 49 or 69, with the digit 9, you have to be extra careful with regards to your health and safety, once you past the digit 9, you will be fine. It's quite true in my circle of friends and relatives. So stay safe, stay healthy and be careful in whatever decisions you made. Had prayed for you that day.
ReplyDeleteI am not a doctor but just sharing, hope it helps. My mom had problems swallowing food too, doctor came out with the conclusion that it is heart burn, so do not skip meals even though you have problem swallowing, eat small amounts and soft food. There are medications that can help with heartburn issues.
ReplyDeleteSounds good so far. Just finally getting to the doctor and knowing they're figuring it out is a relief.
