Welcome to 2026, a Brand New Year!
Hello dear friends and fellow bloggers! A very warm welcome to you all! Happy New Year! Welcome to the year 2026!
I would like to thank you all so much for your kind responses, concerns, prayers and thoughts on my previous post "Health Issues" Your outpouring of love and support means so much to me! I will update after I am able to see a doctor and perhaps specialists as well as to what the results of these appointments reveal. This may take a month or more, (particularly if I am referred to specialists) because you all know how the medical system is right now. I will let you know when I find out.
Back to my regular posts! :)
Here are today's picks, which I hope will brighten your day in some way.
If someone calls you difficult, maybe they're right, and maybe that's a good thing. Maybe you're difficult to control, difficult to push around or difficult to manipulate. - Lori Deschene
We all respond differently to various types of stress, but there are risk factors and triggers that can contribute to the development of an emotional breakdown.
Your illness is not your identity. Your chemistry is not your character. - Pastor Rick Warren

Sometimes you don't realize how good the good old days were until they're gone. Old roads, old dogs, old folks and old ways still have a lot to offer in this sped up world we live in.

The following photos are my own, which I took with my cellphone on December 26th, the day after Christmas! We had a white Christmas, which I was very happy about! You can click on any image to see a larger view.
This was one of my favourite movies, this is one of my favourite songs and Sidney Poitier is one of my favourite actors! I absolutely loved this movie and of course the song and the role that Sidney Poitier played!

Hey Linda, I once had some serious health issues. My friend called me and said, "I feel peace about you". And when she said this, I felt the tension leave me. She didn't say she knew I would get better, she told me there was a peace about me! Of course, she wished me better and I did get better but no matter what, she wanted the peace for me. Linda, didn't you used to have a blog that was Linda's Peaceful Place? There, that is what I am wishing for you, along with improved health too! xx
I like that quote about preferring to get more buy in with a dollar from a million than a million from one person. It makes sense! I never wanted a cat but reluctantly volunteered to care for my younger daughter's cat while she was teaching for a year in South Korea. Mari hated me at first! Over the year though, we made peace with each other and fell in love; when my daughter came back, I asked if I could keep her. That was 11 years ago. I hope your appointments go well! I'll be thinking about you.
Hi Linda....those good ol' days are gone, but I am so thankful to have lived these days and to have them in my memories. I enjoyed the 60' and 70's. I actually remember some of the late 50's.
Your "white Christmas" photos are beautiful, Linda. Hope I'm not too late (as I've been unwell for the past 2-3 weeks) to wish you and your family a very Happy New Year (and that you had a lovely Christmas). I'm finally on the mend and now able to read & comment on blogs. Hope the new year brings you lots of happiness and, more importantly, good health! ;)
The pictures of the snow covered spruce are beautiful! 🌲💚☘️ Hey, where's the cute elephant from Buddha Doodles? Oh no, I hope he didn't go out on a limb and fall off! Lovely post, Linda, versatile 🌷
Thanks for the update on yourself. No act of kindness if ever wasted - I have that on my blog, good quote. Your photos are lovely, good to see snow as it helps to cool us down in the heat :) Videos a lovely I too liked that movie.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your doctor's appointment and everything else! You've got lots of snow where you are! Thanks for all the memories and videos! hugs Elke
Hello Linda! It’s good to see another post from you. There were so many good ones today, and I especially loved this one, “ So often you find that the students you're trying to inspire are the ones that end up inspiring you.” Which is so very true! I hope you have a wonderful day. Belinda
I think Sidney Poitier might have been the first black person that made any kind of impact on me when I was a teenager. He is the first I remember, at least.
J'étais en pause, je n'ai donc pas vu passer ce message. Bon courage pour tes problèmes de santé, j'espère que cela sera vite solutionné. Merci pour cette jolie page. Bonne journée.
Dear Linda, I'm keeping you in my positive thoughts and hoping for some clarity on your issue. I'm always amazed at the amount of snow in Canada! Best wishes ♥
Dear friend Linda. With Ingo I went through so much with doctors not knowing what is wrong with him - I feel for you. I do. I hope you get proper help. I nearly lost my hand cause... doctors had no clue my bone was infected. But they came up with a miracle in another hospital and all is nearly good - I hope you find good help!!! Ingo is still around and so am I and so will you. 😘 My Mom said: "Think positive!!!" And that I did and I can use every finger of my hand! The arm not so much, but, aw, well.
To your regular: Talked to my friend fK - no cat as long as Ingo and I travel - but I can enjoy yours! (and FB, too,). Difficult... hups. We don´t dream, we do, and I am thankful for that. And puddles I jump into! I do. And people look at me as if I´m... difficult ;-) I inspired one professor who "hated" me. He saw I used my Mom´s Mont Blanc - and he loved it. And saw... a girl can also be in a man´s world :-)
Yes to the kindness - works both ways! I am so thankful! And to "the old" - I have some items from my family right here. And a blue sea in sight soon!
Oh. Tomorrow... We make up with the snow pic!
The clock-thingy made me laugh indeed (my Dad was a watchmaker and I have many here). To the woman - it´s a shame she had to help the whale. I always... aw, well... I´ll look for that movie. And yes, that sparrow, I saw that, too - to taking care! Warm hugs and much love on the way 😍

The snow is pretty on the tree. I like the snow covered bench; you can tell no one has been sitting on it! But the streets look treacherous.
