Welcome to 2026, a Brand New Year!

Hello dear friends and fellow bloggers! A very warm welcome to you all! Happy New Year! Welcome to the year 2026!

I would like to thank you all so much for your kind responses, concerns, prayers and thoughts on my previous post "Health Issues" Your outpouring of love and support means so much to me! I will update after I am able to see a doctor and perhaps specialists as well as to what the results of these appointments reveal. This may take a month or more, (particularly if I am referred to specialists) because you all know how the medical system is right now. I will let you know when I find out.

Back to my regular posts!  :)

Here are today's picks, which I hope will brighten your day in some way.

  7. Hi Linda! Here's to hearing good news in the coming days. Love the photos you added. Snow is pretty. We got bunches this past week. Very pretty stuff.

  8. Hey Linda, I once had some serious health issues. My friend called me and said, "I feel peace about you". And when she said this, I felt the tension leave me. She didn't say she knew I would get better, she told me there was a peace about me! Of course, she wished me better and I did get better but no matter what, she wanted the peace for me. Linda, didn't you used to have a blog that was Linda's Peaceful Place? There, that is what I am wishing for you, along with improved health too! xx

  9. I like that quote about preferring to get more buy in with a dollar from a million than a million from one person. It makes sense! I never wanted a cat but reluctantly volunteered to care for my younger daughter's cat while she was teaching for a year in South Korea. Mari hated me at first! Over the year though, we made peace with each other and fell in love; when my daughter came back, I asked if I could keep her. That was 11 years ago. I hope your appointments go well! I'll be thinking about you.

  10. Danny Thomas' saying makes a lot of sense!

  11. Hi Linda....those good ol' days are gone, but I am so thankful to have lived these days and to have them in my memories. I enjoyed the 60' and 70's. I actually remember some of the late 50's.

  13. Your "white Christmas" photos are beautiful, Linda. Hope I'm not too late (as I've been unwell for the past 2-3 weeks) to wish you and your family a very Happy New Year (and that you had a lovely Christmas). I'm finally on the mend and now able to read & comment on blogs. Hope the new year brings you lots of happiness and, more importantly, good health! ;)

  26. Dear friend Linda. With Ingo I went through so much with doctors not knowing what is wrong with him - I feel for you. I do.
I hope you get proper help. I nearly lost my hand cause... doctors had no clue my bone was infected. But they came up with a miracle in another hospital and all is nearly good - I hope you find good help!!!
Ingo is still around and so am I and so will you. 😘 My Mom said: "Think positive!!!" And that I did and I can use every finger of my hand! The arm not so much, but, aw, well.

    To your regular:
Talked to my friend fK - no cat as long as Ingo and I travel - but I can enjoy yours! (and FB, too,).
Difficult... hups. We don´t dream, we do, and I am thankful for that. And puddles I jump into! I do. And people look at me as if I´m... difficult ;-)
I inspired one professor who "hated" me. He saw I used my Mom´s Mont Blanc - and he loved it. And saw... a girl can also be in a man´s world :-)

Yes to the kindness - works both ways! I am so thankful! And to "the old" - I have some items from my family right here. And a blue sea in sight soon!

Oh. Tomorrow... We make up with the snow pic!

The clock-thingy made me laugh indeed (my Dad was a watchmaker and I have many here).
To the woman - it´s a shame she had to help the whale. I always... aw, well...
I´ll look for that movie. And yes, that sparrow, I saw that, too - to taking care! Warm hugs and much love on the way 😍

  46. Linda what a lovely post to start out the first week of January 2026. That woman saving the whale was just wonderful and your photos of the snow are gorgeous. We had a green Christmas but a white New Year's Day. Our new snowfall will most likely melt this week - temperatures are to be in the high 50's...back cold though for the weekend. Take care and have a blessed day. Hugs!

  54. Over here in the Netherlands it's apparently a good thing you have to wait 6weeks for an appointment. If they suspect anything life threatening they ask you to come ride away.

Not sure if it helps, but I'd thought I'd share it with you.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Feel good, Linda! I hope you get an appointment soon. Love that quote that says every path has its puddles. So true!!

  56. I didn't know you are unwell, Linda. I hope you have some answers soon. Another lovely post with much thought to reflect upon. I too, love the movie 'To Sir With Love'. Sidney Poitier was a man I've always admired and of course the song sung by Lulu still rings true, even today. I have seen this movie many times. Take care, lovely Linda.

I too love the show To sir with love and that song :). I have not seen it in a long time. The trees are always pretty when they have the snow on them, looks like it could be slippery, do be careful out there!

  80. Dear Linda,

  84. Hi, Linda! Thanks for reaching out to me. I had the flu throughout the holidays and am finally on the mend. It's the first Christmas I can ever remember being sick. We still managed have a good time though. Because I was lying down a lot, I burned through the three great books Terry gave me for Christmas. One was "6:40 to Montreal" by Eva Jurczyk. I thought it was a great murder mystery! I enjoyed all your inspiring memes, and "Great Wall of Canada" was hilarious (and so true if you've lived in rural Nfld). Your snowy December 26th photos were cold and beautiful. We're expecting snow tomorrow night. Burrr. The whale and Happy videos were heartwarming and the Time Freeze was a hoot. Wishing you a very happy 2026. You were so kind to wonder what had happened to me. I'm working backwards, so I'll find out what is happening to you health wise. ❤️. Take care!
