Healing, Life's Journey

Hello dear friends and fellow bloggers! A very warm welcome to you all! Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to come and visit me here! I really appreciate you all so much!

Here are today's picks, which I hope will brighten your day.

Your body will be around a lot longer than that expensive handbag. Invest in yourself.
Sagewood Wellness

It just occurred to me that many people are actually afraid to heal because their entire identity is centered around the trauma they've experienced. They have no idea who they are outside of trauma and that unknown can be terrifying.

Power of Words

We cannot heal at the same level of thinking that causes us pain...healing requires fully understanding why we love people who inflict pain on us. - Evelyn Ryan
Your Life Lifter

Feeling the pain is the first step toward healing the pain. The longer we avoid the feeling, the more we delay our healing. We can numb it, ignore it or pretend it doesn't exist, but all those options lead to an eventual breakdown, not a breakthrough.
Quote Fancy

Healing is weird. Some days you're okay and you're doing just fine. Other days it still hurts like it's fresh. It's a process with no definitive time frame. You just have to keep going and know that when all is said and done, you're going to be okay. - Unknown

Let it hurt. Let it heal. Let it go.
Enlightening Quotes

Healing doesn't erase the pain; it changes its shape.

One day you'll wake up and find that the pain is still there but it doesn't hurt quite so much. That is when you know that you're on the road to healing.

Healing is a choice. It's not an easy one, because it takes work to turn around your habits, but keep making the choice and shifts will happen. - Yehuda Berg

These two photos are my own, which I took on my cellphone around Montreal. I took these photos on January 22. It was a weird day weather-wise. The day began with sunshine, later on we got blowing snow, and I took these two photos after the snow stopped and the sun came out. It was windy, so I took these photos in the shelter of an overhang of a building. You can click on any image to see a larger view.

The following video is a Just for Laughs Gag (Juste pour Rire in French) done here in Montreal. Enjoy!  :)

  8. Hi Linda - I always enjoy reading all your quotes. I love how they add together to create so much wisdom - when we're healing we need all the reminders we can get that we'll get through and things will be good again. :)

  12. Hi Linda! It is amazing isn't it that a cat's purr has healing powers. I love it when my cat purrs while I am cuddling her. I love the photos you took while taking shelter. I somehow find photos of the snow very calming. We have that kind of weird thing too - it rains and the the sun comes out and it may rain again!

  13. Dear Linda, good evening. My pick today. One day you will wake up and find that the pain is still there but it doesn't hurt quite so much. That is why you know you are on the road to healing. This can apply to both emotional and physical pain. Your two own photos look like postcards to me.

  25. A very wise thought from Rumi. Oh, I didn't even know that cats have such a healing effect on our bones. It's good that I have such a cuddly cat! Warmest wishes to you, Linda, and have a good week!

  26. A cat's purr can be the best, but it can also be very unnerving. Sometimes when one of mine wants food, she'll just sit very close to me, stare at me, and purr so loud that it's impossible to concentrate (for example when I'm working) until I give in, lol.

  32. Thank you, Linda, for everything you share. The truth is that today many of the phrases you delight us with really speak to me, but as I always do with you, I choose the one that has caught my attention the most and that invites me to put it into practice. And this is my choice: “Take all the time you need to heal emotionally. Heal at your own pace, step by step, day by day.” Wishing you strength with each new day that opens up in your life. A hug and my prayers.
