Forgiveness...anyone can hold a grudge, but it takes a person with character to forgive. When you forgive, you release yourself from a painful burden. Forgiveness doesn't mean what happened was OK, and it doesn't mean that person should still be welcome in your life. It just means you have made peace with the pain, and are ready to let it go.

The following photos are my own, which I took with my cellphone. You can click on any image to see a larger view. I have mentioned in a few of my previous posts that one of my favourite stores is Dollarama! It is a large Canadian discount store with approximately 1,700 locations across Canada! Their prices and selection are great and they often bring in new products as well.
This one is a Pantene shampoo, but a fortifying damage repair version. This product is made in Thailand and cost $5.00 at Dollarama. I am sure this product sells for much more than $5.00 at other stores! I have not tried this yet, but I will perhaps let you all know in a future post after I have tried it.

I also purchased these following products at Dollarama, they are all body wash items. Zest, Simile and Live Clean. I have tried the Zest and Live Clean, I really like these products. I have not yet tried the Simile. I stopped using bar soap over 10 years ago, as my skin is sensitive and dry (which is why I don't wear makeup), so the body wash is great in that it keeps my skin moisturized. I believe I paid between $4.00 and $5.00 for each one! Thus far, the highest price of any item at Dollarama is $5.00. Of course this may change as costs begin to skyrocket on everything everywhere. However, I am extremely grateful for Dollarama, because I am able to purchase items (for example, $5.00, whereas the cost of the same item, same brand name and size, can be $8.00 or more at other stores!) One example...I purchased a brand name hair brush at Dollarama and paid $5.00. I saw the exact same item, same brand and size at another store...$18.00!!!

This last item is yet another thing that I purchased at Dollarama for just $2.00! It is a pouch which can be used to store makeup, pencils or pens or small tools, very useful! I love the Canada maple leafs and patterns on this pouch! The reason I feel that Dollarama is able to offer such competitive prices is because they have so many stores! This is very good for them, because they can purchase a very large quantity of items and be able, as a result, to get better prices on each item. And they transfer the savings to their customers. I absolutely love Dollarama! Although not every single item is cheaper than in other stores, I find so many things that are, which makes it worth it for me.

  6. I love the quotes on anger and forgiveness! I myself have carried loads of anger and resentment in my younger days and I have slowly let them go and forgiven (though not forgotten). It is true that anger, hate and resentment is a toxin that only poisons the one who keeps those feelings in their heart.

  7. I like the idea of remembering gently and forgiving. It's OK not to forget, but bitterness and anger will eat us up inside. During a long ago psych class, I learned that anger is always a secondary emotion and is covering up something else. Getting to that inner emotion and dealing with it requires courage and determination at times. I'm not an angry person at all although there seem to be many of them in the world these days.

  11. By coincidence my reading this morning was on forgiveness.

Dollarama is a great place to get certain items for less. We must have half a dozen here and there in our relatively small city💗

  12. morning greetings from kuala lumpur! today is 1st day of school opening after the one week festival break (muslim aidifitri celebration). university has also resumed face-to-face class today, but my classes are scheduled tomorrow (5 hours). so nice reading your sharing about the price items in Dollarama. good place to shop for necessities indeed! in my place, there are quite a number of hypermarts which offer good price but again depending on the items that we want to buy. living cost in Malaysia is quite high (for food items/groceries) compared to salary paid, but we always must count our blessings as our countries (Malaysia and Canada) is peaceful place to live in :) for today, i choose this quote: The first to apologize is the bravest. The first to forgive is the strongest. The first to forget is the happiest.... i love the pouch that you bought! i love maple leaves design, after all, the trees are not grown in my country. till then, take care dear Linda!

  20. Oh, Linda, all the memes about forgiveness are a reminder that this is our super power, healing not only the one who needs the forgiving, but healing our hurting hearts. I'm so glad you decided to include Echo Park, too. Such a lovely, reflective song. Of course, the flower-bringing kitty stole my heart. Blessings always!

  35. If cats could talk, they wouldn't? I don't believe that. While they say a lot with their eyes and body, my girl has also started to yell at me if there's something she's not happy about 😂

  39. These are all so true about anger and forgiveness.
I used to love shopping at Dollar Tree until they started putting higher priced items in the store and raising all the dollar items. It wasn't so much about the price as it was that they aren't offering as many items that I find appealing

    ReplyDelete
  40. Cats sure act as if they own the place :)
The video of the man in the ATM, made me remeber that we used to joke in uni that there was an elf inside the computers pushing some buttons :)
    Have a lovely week!

  41. Nice bargains and Dollarama is a nice name.

    Tis works in my life:
"The act of forgiveness takes place in our own mind. It really has nothing to do with the other person." ❤️
I'm fortunate because I don't get angry easily nor quickly.
I can let go of (possible) anger or resentment in my own time.

  42. Anger and forgiveness: one is more easily accomplished than the other.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Forgiveness means setting the captive bird free...then realizing...you have been the captive bird! This one really spoke to me. We have Dollar General and a couple of other stores that sound like your Dollarama. I agree they are able to offer such discounts because of the amount of bulk they are able to purchase. Enjoy your day, Linda!

  44. Dear Linda, it is difficult sometimes not to get angry, so many nnuisances sometimes, but you are right it does not solve any problem!
Last September I have been to Vancouver for holidays and we went to Dollarama ! It is a amazing store, very cheap with so many things! Hope we can have one here! Cheers, Sylvie

  47. Oh these came at a good time. I pinned several to share with my great-niece. She had some hurt/trauma from her step dad growing up. She is in her late 20's won't let it go. It is ruining her and she will never get validation or vindication from him. It's just so sad.

  48. I rather keep silent, too... and reckon I´m the strongest... and the happiest.
Blurt and hurt... it happens! We are but beings...
The taking away power is a strong aspect, too!
We have Mc Geiz aka Mc Frugal - I love it, too and your pouch, awww... and the cat! And... to being!
Much love and sunny hugs to you!

  49. I do ever so love body washes, I never have just one, but usually about ten LOL Dove is my go to brand because it leaves skin so moist and hydrated, I bet your peach one smells lovely, I actually have a bottle of Dove's White Peach body wash which my sister sent me from USA a year ago, we don't have that particular aroma here in Europe. I do ever so love cheap stores as well, that is where I buy all my cosmetics and household cleaning stuff.

    Saludos.

  51. Thank you. This morning I am not so much angry as annoyed, but by substituting one word for another I was able to move on a little bit.

  52. I remember Marilyn McDoo and Billy Davis Jr.! Nice to know they're still going strong in their 80s! Great video about saving the octopus and her eggs too. And I just LOVE the video about the cat who brings the flowers to her human!

I remember Zest bar soap from when I was a kid. It had a very pleasant scent and it's what we used at home. I use Live Clean liquid hand soap and it is a very good brand.

I like Dollarama too -- they have a great selection of almost everything you can think of!

    ReplyDelete
  53. It is so true that holding onto anger is a heavy burden and that forgiveness is really a gift we give to our own hearts. Those Dollarama finds are quite impressive, especially when you can find a name-brand brush for such a small fraction of the usual price.

  54. You got some good deals. There are things I don't forgive. I probably should, but I don't.

  56. Dear Linda!
A very beautiful post! Anger is a strong, often destructive emotion stemming from frustration or hurt, which distances one from peace of mind, while forgiveness is a conscious decision to release resentment and refrain from retaliation.
Forgiveness is a path to reconciliation and regaining inner freedom, while prolonged anger often leads to hatred.
    Spring greetings:)
