...Linda, the Chicken Soup for the Soul kitty are adorable. Keep passing on the compassion.
ReplyDeleteA timely reminder about the importance of compassion, kindness and sympathy/empathy. I would like people to remember me in those terms.
ReplyDeleteHow special, a ghost Pigeon! I wonder if he is an albino? Did you notice if he had red eyes?
ReplyDeleteOh, I love to watch birds too. Have you tried the Merlin Bird ID app from Cornell University? You can turn the app on and it will tell you what kind of bird it is just from the song the bird is singing. It's a great app.
ReplyDeletedear linda! morning greetings from kuala lumpur. it's so heartwarming to read your comments at my blog..thanks for updating me about the wintry condition in montreal. may everything will get better soon. i love pigeons too! here in my university, there are also pigeons (near grand hall)..sometimes i do drop by there and sometimes i do bring some grain to feed the pigeons (but not very frequent). for today, i choose this quote: Kindness is more important than wisdom and the recognition of this is the beginning of wisdom... this morning, it was drizzling slightly when i was driving to my workplace (university). till then, take care dear linda! oh one more thing, i do like eggs and this morning i took one hardboiled egg for my early breakfast :)
ReplyDeleteHay que ser empatice. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteI appreciated all of these quotes and videos. I enjoyed the Toni Tenille and her sisters singing, and the one about the little tiny mole. Oh, and seeing Patti Page singing "How Much is the Doggy in the window?" I haven't heard that in many years. These were all good, and I enjoyed it all. Thank you for the lessons about compassion. Something we could all use a lot more of and also I know it's something I need to work on.
ReplyDeleteOh, that baby mole! I must send that video to my sister, she'll love it too!

Deixo votos de uma semana com muita paz e alegria, querida amiga.
Beijinhos.
Compassion is critical. Much of the issues today in the world have to do with leaders with no compassion.
ReplyDeleteCompassion is so important and is sadly lacking these days.
ReplyDeleteBoa noite minha querida amiga Linda. Gostei de todas as reflexões. A minha preferida: Empatia é você ver, ouvir com os ouvidos do outro, e sentir com o coração do outro. Uma excelente noite de quarta-feira. Grande abraço do seu amigo brasileiro.
ReplyDeleteHola. Hermosos todos los pensamientos, gracias por compartir. Bellas tus fotos. Un abrazo.
ReplyDeleteTrue compassion means not only feeling another's pain but also being moved to help relieve it. - Daniel Goleman This struck a chord in my heart.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have ever seen a pure white pigeon before.
God bless.
Thank you so much for the inspiration and the quotes, Linda. I hope you are enjoying your week.
ReplyDeleteThat cockatoo is priceless!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading through all the memes. And I agree with them. Gratitude, kindness, caring.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THIS:
ReplyDeleteOne of the ugliest things in the world is a human without compassion. - Karen Salmansohn
Love the quotes on compassion!
ReplyDeleteThe memes are good regarding compassion, Linda.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are lovely, good to see the birds.
Just for laughs is good and I remember that one.
The Doggy in the Window was one of the first songs I remember. :)
How beautiful this group of doves with the single white dove!
ReplyDeleteYour quotes are once again so remarkable, and the videos are so beautiful. Thank you for this morning greeting from you, which I will gladly keep in my heart throughout the day!
Have a good week! hugs Elke
The kindness to ourselves is sometimes difficult, dear friend Linda.... but, to strength and compassion. And love.
ReplyDeleteTo the white one being of course accepted by the others.
Thank you for the BIG SMILE with the man making everyone dance and smile! And the Cockatoo, awww....
Thank you, warm hugs and much love are on the way.
Compassion is very important. Compassion for everything really. People, animals, plants.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fun videos, Linda!
Kiitos Linda :) Tärkeitä ajatuksia ja sanoja meille kaikille.
ReplyDeleteKiitän myös hauskoista videoista.
This is true: "One of the ugliest things in the world is a human without compassion. " And think if such a person is a teacher, the president of a company . . . or a country ... Then it becomes downright dangerous. Compassion is what makes this a better world. 💚
ReplyDeleteOh so many pigeons in your photo, Linda! We have lots of pigeons here too.
ReplyDeleteUne page comme toujours pleine de sagesse et de bon sens.
ReplyDeleteMerci aussi pour les petites vidéos.
Bonne journée Linda

Hello Linda,

I hope the freezing rain hasn't been too bad.
ReplyDeleteSo many good choices here for kindness empathy and compassion.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the white pigeon was an albino
Hi, Linda!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more about the message conveyed by the first meme, the one with the kitties: "True friendship comes when silence between two people becomes a language." Silence in the room can speak volumes. In a troubled relationship, it can indicate a breakdown of communication and an unwillingness to even try. However, when two people are in sync and in harmony, the silence feels so very good to both. It is relaxed. It says "I feel safe here with you. I am at peace." There is no better feeling. I have always believed that my great capacity for compassion is both a blessing and a curse. It makes it all the more painful to witness the words and deeds of people without compassion, including many of our leaders. I have always been kind and gentle with animals. It is the only way I know how to be, and that suits me just fine. I truly believe that kindness and compassion are contagious, as are hate and cruelty. Each of us has a choice. How do I want to be known? How do I want to be remembered? I love the pictures of your Montreal pigeons. To many people, the birds are an ordinary part of the city landscape to be ignored. However I watch them with fascination. I enjoyed the Just For Laughs gag showing how an old man turned a city street corner into a flash mob dance party, illustrating how one person has the power to influence many others for fun and goodwill or for evil purposes. I thoroughly enjoyed that clip of Toni Tennille and her sisters singing the old Beach Boys Christmas hit. It gives me a chance to say R.I.P. to famed singer/songwriter and recording artist Neil Sedaka who wrote the hit "Love Will Keep Us Together" for Toni's duo act The Captain and Tennille. My parents had a copy of "How Much Is That Doggie In The Window" and I listened to it often as a child. The story about the baby mole was heartwarming. I have the highest praise for the kind folks who raised the little critter, made sure she had ample food and then endured the pain of releasing their pet into the earth when it was grown. Wish there were many more people like them in our world.
Thank you so much for the uplifting memes and inspiring pictures and videos, dear friend Linda. My March post is up and running at Shady's Place and I invite you to visit when you get a chance. Enjoy the rest of your week and weekend!
Saludos.
Dear Linda,
ReplyDeleteOf all the phrases you share today, this one has stayed with me: “Ah, kindness. What a simple way to tell someone who is struggling that there is love in the world.”
That sentence awakens something very specific in me: gratitude. Because we have all had moments when we were just getting through the day as best we could, a little tired of everything, and then someone appears with a simple gesture, a kind word, or a hand held out. It does not change the whole world, but in that moment it changes yours. And when that happens, it stays with you forever.
Thank you for sharing it. A kiss and my gratitude.
So, so needed these days.
ReplyDeleteYes, compassion is was makes us human. We need more of it! My mother and I understood each other wordlessly :) I love the Dodo. Such cute video. Thank you for your beautiful inspirations, Linda. Hugs ♥
ReplyDeleteAnother great post and videos
ReplyDeleteI agree you tell much about a person as to how they treat animals, babies and elderly
ReplyDeleteThanks especially for the cat photos.
ReplyDeleteLinda - the song "How Much is that Doggie in the Window" brought back wonderful memories. My dear mom used to sing that song to me all the time. It made me happy then and it made me happy again today. Always enjoy your wonderful quotes and kindness with compassion is so needed a a reminder these times. God bless and have a delightful day. P.S. Adore your pics of the pigeons with the white one. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteSomething which seems in short supply.
ReplyDeleteOy, I currently have a very annoying mole in my yard, it keeps destroying my yard for weeks now, we have her little soil hills all around the house on at least 15 different places LOL I am collecting all the soil it digs out to use for flowers later on.
ReplyDeleteKindness and compassion make the world go round, don't they? I so enjoyed your photos, Linda, and the videos you shared here, too. I got a huge kick out of the older man dancing and how so many people joined in. May your day be filled with good news and blessings!
ReplyDeleteHow you walk with the broken speaks louder than how you sit with the great.
ReplyDeleteThe above really spoke to me today Linda, thank you for sharing.
Carla

ReplyDeleteCute Just for Laughs video. I had not seen it before.
ReplyDeleteYes, this poor old world needs a lot more love and compassion, and we can do our small part. It may be little, but it's still profound.
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful world we would have if it had more compassion for sure. I wonder how rare it is for alll white pigeion. We have a town hear in Illinois that has white squirrels, they are very rare and hard to find though. I do remember Captain and Tennille, wow that seems like a lifetime ago. Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love this topic. In a world where compassion and empathy are getting rare by the day, we need more compassion and empathy shared and talked about.
ReplyDeleteCompany, empathy and kindness...you aren't describing a certain leader to your south, are you.
ReplyDeleteThe dancing clip really had me laughing.
Amor, composicion, ayuda mutua... Bellas palabras, amiga
ReplyDeleteYou always bring a huge smorgasbord here. Tenille and sisters are very lively.
ReplyDeleteIn perfect harmony
ReplyDeletehave a good weekend, beijinhos ´,~`)
We could all do with more compassion, couldn't we? Thank you for sharing these lovely quotes and videos, Linda.
ReplyDeleteIt’s good to be compassionate, but I find it difficult to be compassionate about stupidity.

Compassion, Empathy, Kindness: a wonderful theme!
ReplyDeleteIt's so easy to be kind, just let do it! Your post gives a good motivation or me!
Compassion an empathy make our hearts wide and happy also in hurts. Our EGO is often lie a prison. We also should have some compassion with ourselves, so we can give more compassion to our neighbors. I love all the quotes and most this one of Dalai Lama.
I love the doves!
Misericórdia é a prática de um mandamento supremo, ensinado pelo Senhor Jesus: Colocar-se no lugar do outro.
ReplyDeleteAchei seu vídeo bastante alegre e engraçado.
When I hears Patti Page singing How much is that Doggie in the Window I forgot what else I was going to write. I remember my Mom singing that song.
ReplyDeletethey remind us that compassion and empathy are small things that can make a huge difference in someone’s life...
ReplyDeleteCompassion, empathy, and kindness are perhaps the most important human emotions of all, Linda. Loved that dancing man ~ hardly a gag, more pure joy. And the cockatoo was a delight. I like to photograph pigeons too, actually any bird. Have a lovely weekend! Much love to you!
ReplyDeleteAll important quotes of kindness and compassion Nice pigeons Here in Christchurch we have a lot of wood pigeons
ReplyDeleteDear Linda, thank you for the two photos you took on march 5th. I can see the all white pigeon you pointed out. I can never take photographs of birds because they will all fly away when I walked near. You must have been very silent. 💕
ReplyDeleteI'm retrieving one of your comments that got lost among many others.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry...
Your collection of humanitarian quotes is admirable and excellent.
Thank you for the pleasant reading time.
Have a nice weekend.

Sympathy is not about fixing someone - I love that one!!!!
ReplyDeleteA lot of this really speaks to me, thank you.
ReplyDeleteThe collection of quotes you gathered today feels like a gentle reset for the heart. Each one highlights a different facet of compassion, from quiet empathy to the courage of taking action. Your photos add such a peaceful touch, especially that striking white pigeon among the flock. The videos brought a lovely mix of joy and nostalgia, and the dancing clip in particular shows how easily kindness and lightheartedness can ripple outward. A beautiful reminder that small moments of care really can brighten an entire day.
ReplyDeleteCompassion is an important part of Emotional Intelligence.

ReplyDeleteI've been busy, but now I'm truly thrilled to read your post! I really like the quotes, especially the one "One of the ugliest things in the world is a person without compassion"—I find it incredibly accurate. Best regards, and brotherly hugs!
PS
I love birds; I always feed them; they come to my windowsill because they know they'll get something to eat: oatmeal, grains.
Compassion is very important in life, but it's rarely shown.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of pigeons :)
Amen. This is truly yore ‘fait accompli’.

There is not enough selfless compassion and kindness in this world. It seems like even if someone is kind, you have to be skeptical as to why.
