"Wherever you go, there you are" is a popular idiom with ancient roots, most famously popularized in modern times by mindfulness expert Jon Kabat-Zinn as the title of his 1994 book on meditation. The phrase is often used to mean that one cannot escape oneself or one's problems by changing locations. (Goolge)
