Overthinking is the biggest cause of our unhappiness. Keep yourself occupied. Keep your mind off things that don't help you. Think positive.

The following photos are my own, which I took with my cellphone. I took these photos in a beautiful Montreal park. You can click on any image to see a larger view.

I have no idea what this was, but I wanted to take the photo.

Again, I don't know what these were, but I found them pretty.

  5. ...Linda, you assembled a wonderful collection, but "In a nation of sheep, one brave man forms a majority," jumped out at me. This sums up things here!!!

  6. I found your photos very interesting, Linda! The first one is like a scarecrow, can be scary coming across it at night! (I watch too many horror movies!). The second photo looks like a green brain! Or an alien life form (again too many movies. LOL!) Is it growing on a tree? And the last one, those plants that look like roses, I believe they are a type of cactus? Very pretty. I also love today's quotes especially the first one. I love cats!

  10. Great advice from the deer! I also liked the one about the birds singing. Just a few days ago I was walking in the woods and the only sound was the birds and I was just so blessed by it!

  22. Loving the animal-themed quotes today, Linda! Animals are my friends ♥ Your photos are fascinating. My favorite are the succulents. Have a beautiful day!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Animals are some of the most genuine beings on this planet, and trees are simply amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I was particularly drawn to this quote: "If your peace depends on everything going right, that isn't peace, it's control." There is a lot of truth in that. Life rarely follows the script we have written for it.
I also loved the photographs. The first one completely puzzled me. I spent quite a while trying to figure out what it was. My best guess is that it's one of those strange growths that sometimes appear on trees and end up looking like a sculpture created by nature itself. Whatever it is, I found it fascinating. And I must say once again that your videos are always wonderful. They manage to capture a little of the calm and beauty of your walks around Montreal. A big hug, Linda.

  25. I especially liked the one that said to trust yourself, you've survived a lot. Yes, indeed. Definitely a survivor. :)

  26. The question is, though, what overthinking is. Don't slide to not thinking about the world's problems, people. In fact, do think about them. Ignorance is the first step to apathy, the one thing that seemingly gets rewarded in our grossly inegalitarian society.

  27. Thank you the lovely quotes, Linda. They are inspiring.

    Great photos of the plants!!!
Your animal quotes are so wonderful—and your fantastic videos, too!

  32. How many people have the patience to listen like a deer?

  33. Those suculent little plants crown looking in the last photo are houseleek, they are extremely valued and popular here in my country as you can use them for healing skin, wounds, even ears using their juice like aloe vera. It grows naturally even on roofs and we always nurture it carefully as it gives us health. Cancer stricken people even nibble on it.

  34. Keep your mind off things that don't help you. I love that.

  37. It's fascinating how, when we seek wisdom, we often turn to animals—from learning how to fly airplanes by observing nature to the philosophies and qualities we associate with different creatures. It truly shows how deeply connected we are to nature. Thank you for everything you share with us. Your posts often give us something to reflect on and carry with us throughout the day, making it a little more meaningful and enjoyable.

  39. Hahah, "some horses take forever doing their hair. They're high mane-tenance" :)
In a nation of sheep, one brave man is quickly silenced! Covid proved this!
I think you photographed a burl in a tree. It's many times valued for furniture making.
The "rock roses" has we call them here (succulents) are so pretty!
    Have a nice weekend!

  40. These are all so nice. I have to differ with one, though. Dogs can feel shame. When my poor doggie had an accident at night, she was very upset and ashamed. Poor thing.

  41. Lindo, je to krásné, inspirující.

  42. As always, these pictures/quotes/videos got to me. I especially loved watching the black cat video, since I now am the mother of a black cat. Our Blackie isn't quite a vocal as that one in the video, but he will talk when it's time for food. He does love to follow me around and sit with me in the garden, which I find very comforting. We listen to the birds singing together. Thank you for this post. It spoke to my heart today.

  50. Some relevant thoughts for the day, Linda.

    Saludos.

  52. Dear Linda, thank you for the 3 photos of the park taken by your mobile phone. I also wonder what the green item is. 🤔

Your photos are wonderful - those plants that you've said "I don't know what they were but I found them pretty" ... they are succulents & it looks like possibly some bromeliads in there. 75. I enjoyed reading this collection today. There is something comforting about the way you gather little pieces of wisdom, humor, and kindness from so many places and bring them together in one space. It feels like a quiet reminder to slow down and notice what really matters.

The animal theme stood out a lot this time, especially the way you included both the gentle and the funny sides of life with cats, dogs, birds, horses, and even that playful pig quote. The deer advice was one of my favourites, simple but steady, the kind of reminder people actually need in everyday life more than they realize.

I also liked the balance between lighthearted humor and deeper thoughts about peace, uncertainty, and being yourself. It makes the whole post feel grounded, not heavy, just honest in a calm way.

Your Montreal park photos added a nice personal touch too. Even without knowing exactly what everything was, there is something real about capturing moments just because they caught your eye. That kind of noticing is becoming rare.

The video selections also fit well, especially the lighter ones that bring a bit of nostalgia and fun into the mix.

Overall, it feels like a thoughtful pause in the middle of a busy world.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Linda wonderful post...enjoyed especially watching them do the twist - man that takes one back in time! All your quotes are great my friend. Thanks for being such a lovely encouraging person. Hugs!

  83. Hi, Linda! I love Thomas' quote about how all animals can think and feel. It's like the woman and her black cat in the video said, they know. All our dogs and cats have been rescues, and they could all understand me, perceive when I was not feeling well, and comfort me. I've also rescued frogs, lizards, bats, and even a snake from our swimming pool, and believe they're grateful. BTW, the flower like succulent in your picture is called a Mother-of-Pearl plant, and is native to Northeast Mexico. I live on the Texas border, and my wife has several pots with it, as it grows very easily around here. Have a blessed weekend!
