The following photos are my own, taken with my cellphone on my walks here in Montreal. This first photo is a phone booth...yes, there are still many in Montreal. You can click on any image to see a larger view.
A Montreal bus. The STM on the white at the top part of the bus stands for "Societe de Transport de Montreal"
I think you all know that I love nature...so animals and birds are part of this. This is a pigeon who found its way inside a Montreal metro station. The door to the station was open, so the pigeon just walked inside...perhaps to escape the heat outside for a bit. I found it cute and decided to take this photo. :)
I liked the colour and artwork on this picnic table outside of a metro station near a grocery store and decided to take the photo.
The following video is a Just for Laughs Gag (Juste pour Rire in French) done here in Montreal. Enjoy! :)

I agree 100% that little things mean lot and we must not lose sight of that. Oh, you still have telephone booths over there! I have not seen one for ages. I read your earlier post about the heatwave. So it looks like it's not just me feeling the heat and sweating it out at my end!
morning dear linda! it's a bright, sunny day here at my place. my son is having his exam (trial exam)--equivalent to O level exam. for today, i choose this quote: Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine! indeed! i love seeing all your pics about your place, montreal...now it becomes close to my heart although virtual only. take care dear linda
I wish we still had telephone booths near me. I miss them! I agree with Da Vinci about how each cat is a masterpiece. They really are! Thank you for the inspiration!
Hi there! I love the one about doing little things for others. It's so true that we don't know the effect it has on them. The little pigeon in the station is cute.
What a beautifully decorated picnic bench! Many of our utility boxes now have artistic wraps on them and they make me happy. They are those small things that bring joy. We have to always pay attention to the beauty around us, even when it's little and doesn't seem important. Life is made up of small moments.
Dear Linda, good night to you now. I am surprised that there are still phone booths around. A few years ago I left my hp at home and couldn't find any public phone booths. Ended up borrowing a phone to use from a mall's custom service table. Have a good week ahead! 💕
I have seen this to be true many many times in my life: "Sometimes, the bad things that happen in life can open your eyes to the good things you weren't paying attention to before." 💚 Cute things about cats 🤭😺🐈⬛ Rain here in Finland. ☔️ I'll try and send some your way.
I love this one: Life humbles you. As you grow older, you stop chasing the big things and embrace the little things. Alone, time, enough sleep, healthy food, long walks and precious time with your loved ones. Simplicity becomes your lifestyle. I haven't seen a phone both in forever. I don't think my kids know what one is. Loved the song by Cat Stevens Morning is broken!
I haven't seen a phone booth in years. It is good to know they are still available in some areas. Thank you for the sweet inspirational quotes, Linda. You always start my week on a happy note. Hugs.
Good morning Linda, another week has begun. They announced a heatwave is coming again this week in the Netherlands, the second in a short time. We’re not used to this, but we keep the house cool and take care of our animals. Phone booths are all gone here now. I love the quotes you share on your blog; they’re all great. Hope you have a good start to the week. 🌻
The dog in the neighbours pool, gosh. The cat and home is good. Just for Laughs a bit weird but ok, Linda. Whales are interesting and are migrating at the moment in the oceans of Australia. Morning has broken is a good song.
These are all beautiful photos—whether of the colorful bench, the pigeon, or the bus. It’s great that you still have a phone booth there! You always have such beautiful, uplifting quotes and words of wisdom for me, as well as great videos! Wishing you happy days and hoping you stay cool in the heat! Hugs, Elke
Heat wave... 16C, cloudy here. Does it mean: Beer non-stop? Kidding.... It´s frustrating. 19C tops today. Hot tea it is. To always being kind, dear friend Linda. Very often, when I give a smile to a stranger just like that I am surprised how they are surprised and they automatically give it back. Two people happy. Easy. Ho-wee... if I ever make it to your country I hope my French from school days is still good enough! I had a very strict teacher so chances are high ;-) To making art of picnic tables!!! Wow, how you order your meals! And the whales ... To have a pool, huh - and warm weather. 16C is no Summer... Love that last song! Happy Monday, much love and "warm" hugs, wearing a jumper here....
I can't remember the last time I saw a phone booth. It's been a long time. That is a pretty picnic table. I hope that pigeon found it's way back out again.
Hello, Linda Another post with great advice and quotes. I appreciate the little things, get outside as much as I can. We see some phone boxes but if they work would be amazing. Take care, enjoy your day and have a great week ahead.
I wonder what you C anadians consider under a heat wave LOL We currently have ten days of 30-35C but then from the 10th to 20th of July it will be 35-45C and then the last week of July is supposed to be zenith with over 45C for ten days which is living hell on Earth!
Back when I was younger memes might have helped me through a bad time. They have such wonderful sayings. Even though life is good right now, readings these was a nice way to start my morning. Thank you. Have a super new week too.
When I was little the neighbor lady called me "little Miss Sunshine" - she said "you bring the sunshine with you" - little did I know then, how much this "trait" would serve me during my life. None more so true that what I'm dealing with with my health.
I haven't seen a phone booth in I don't know how long. The doggy will not be deterred! Cat Stevens is a reminder of my years entering young adulthood. I love his music.
I love the pool party dog. And the whale loving dog too. Morning has Broken is a lovely song. I visited Montreal once, way back in 1967. I was a kid and we travelled across Canada by train to go to Expo 67. We found accomodation there with a French family, who spoke no English, and got daily breakfast for the price included. I think they rented us two rooms of their home. I can't recall a lot about the trip.
Hello dear Linda. I read your last post about the temperature in Montreal. I follow another one Greek blogger in your city and you are right. This situation was cruel. I hope now the weather is better. Take care of yourself, my dear friend. You have my best wishes.
Dear Linda, the quote refering to slowing down speaks to me right now. That's what I plan to do the next few weeks 🙏 Thank you again for your encouraging words on my blog 🌺
These are so true, and the one about appreciating good things following bad ones really hits home for me. I'm shocked that phone booths remain there. Interesting! On another note, "Morning has Broken" was one of several songs broadcast daily at my youth church camp.
Not that it matters, but I always think of music putting me to sleep and not waking me up during my week long Camp Mohican stays, which doesn't really make sense. lol For the fun of it, I may have to pull out that old photo album. Thanks for stirring up fond memories, not to mention sharing all your lovely posts and kind comments, my dear.
Hey Linda, Thanks for stopping by. I had to share the Cat is the visible Soul meme with my daughter. They have a crazy number of cats and it def applies to them.

Přeji Ti, Lindo, klidné a spokojené dny! ☺
Kind thoughts. As well as seeds I always put water out for the birds and amphibians in my garden when it's hot. Southern England is on its 3rd 30c plus heatwave of the year so I'm glad I live further north... so far anyway. At this rate we will all be living at the north or south pole.
Appreciating the little blessings is so important. I'm so glad you have A/C because the temperatures are abnormally high esp. in your "side" of the country. I hope the doctors can find out what is wrong so that you obtain relief from upsetting symptoms.
I do appreciate little things, even though sometimes we tend to miss them or couldn't see it. Wow, you still have phone booth in your area. There are no payphones left where I lived. Except maybe in school, where students could use them.
The heat wave that we had (June 30-July 5) was insane! I think this was the first time we've had temperatures that feel like 48-49 Celsius with the humidity! It definitely made me appreciate having A/C! Thanks for the visit.
morning dear linda. it's slighly cloudy this morning here in gombak (my place). I'm still working from home-need to finish marking final exam papers. for today, i choose this quote: Your true home is in the here and the now! indeed!! take care dear linda
Hello Linda. Thanks for sharing the pictures around Montreal. The pigeon! I love it. I love this quote... "Life humbles you. As you grow older, you stop chasing the big things and embrace the little things. Alone, time, enough sleep, healthy food, long walks and precious time with your loved ones. Simplicity becomes your lifestyle." Have a super week.
Kindness, I wish more people could be kind to one another instead of being nasty and only thinking of themselves. . It amazes me how many animals walk into stores, big and small.
Dear Linda, you are right about the colours used on the table and bench. Very nice combination. I didn't know what the words vague de paix written on the table means so I look it up online and it says "wave of peace" 👋🏻 ✌🏻🕊️
Lately I've been studying the Taoist tradition of Eastern philosophy and I'm startled to see how consistent (and even identical) most of your suggestions are to its teachings. Good choices!
Life humbles you. As you grow older, you stop chasing the big things and embrace the little things. Alone, time, enough sleep, healthy food, long walks and precious time with your loved ones. Simplicity becomes your lifestyle. That says it all! Nice post, Linda and have a lovely day.
I see we have a lot in common. We have two cats at home. And I also like good quotes. I think kindness and gentleness are very much needed in the world.
Thich Nhat Hanh has always been a favorite, so it's wonderful when I discover a new one of his quotes! Thanks for sharing them, Linda. Also, I can't believe I was able to read and understand the French quote! I can thank my high school French teacher for that!! Haha!! Have a lovely week my friend!
Great reminders to slow down and appreciate the little things and all the nature around us. I love to walk in the woods and soak in all the sights and sounds. Have a lovely week!
Thank you, Linda, for sharing so many beautiful and inspiring thoughts. I especially liked the reminder to slow down and appreciate the little things in life. Sometimes they bring us the greatest joy. Have a wonderful week! 😊
Traudi.
May you always remember that you are more than your answers – that your doubts are sacred, and your silence full of meaning.
May you see the flower without explaining it, and use the machine without becoming like it.
May you not be afraid of the screen, but neither get lost in it – may it rather be a mirror that points you back to your own depth.
And if technology ever makes you feel superfluous, then remember: you are not measurable. You were not made to always be better and faster. You are present, unique, and irreplaceable – not because you know everything, but because you can choose to love, even when it is illogical.
Then move forward peacefully – not faster, but deeper. And let your humanity remain the greatest technology of all.
Always interesting and wise quotes. I especially liked the one you mention about kindness. It costs nothing to be kind, and our gestures can give hope and make someone's day much happier. It's been a long time since I've seen a phone booth. The picnic table is indeed beautiful, both the color and the artistic designs. Excellent video and music choices. I haven't heard these beautiful songs in a long time. Hugs and all the best

ReplyDeleteI think the issue nowadays with phone booths is that no one knows anyone's phone number anymore.
ReplyDeleteDear Linda, good night to you now. I am surprised that there are still phone booths around. A few years ago I left my hp at home and couldn't find any public phone booths. Ended up borrowing a phone to use from a mall's custom service table.

The dog swimming in the pool was fun.

I really enjoyed listening to "Can You Feel The Love Tonight?" It's a favourite song and haven't heard it in a long time! Thanks!

Sending good wishes to you.
All the best Jan
We're set for another heatwave, not looking forward to those sleepless nights. Aircon is rare here so there's little relief.
ReplyDeleteKind thoughts. As well as seeds I always put water out for the birds and amphibians in my garden when it's hot. Southern England is on its 3rd 30c plus heatwave of the year so I'm glad I live further north... so far anyway. At this rate we will all be living at the north or south pole.
ReplyDeleteThose are all goodies! WOW! Look, a phone booth!
ReplyDeleteAppreciating the little blessings is so important. I'm so glad you
ReplyDeletehave A/C because the temperatures are abnormally high esp. in your "side" of the country.
ReplyDeleteLindas reflexiones.
ReplyDeleteGood reminder... Slow down... notice...
ReplyDeleteThe heat wave that we had (June 30-July 5) was insane! I think this was the first time we've had temperatures that feel like 48-49 Celsius with the humidity! It definitely made me appreciate having A/C! Thanks for the visit.
ReplyDeletemorning dear linda. it's slighly cloudy this morning here in gombak (my place). I'm still working from home-need to finish marking final exam papers. for today, i choose this quote: Your true home is in the here and the now! indeed!! take care dear linda
ReplyDeleteYes, little things to do mean a lot!
ReplyDeleteHello Linda. Thanks for sharing the pictures around Montreal. The pigeon! I love it. I love this quote...
ReplyDelete"Life humbles you. As you grow older, you stop chasing the big things and embrace the little things. Alone, time, enough sleep, healthy food, long walks and precious time with your loved ones. Simplicity becomes your lifestyle."
Have a super week.
Kindness, I wish more people could be kind to one another instead of being nasty and only thinking of themselves. .
ReplyDeleteIt amazes me how many animals walk into stores, big and small.
Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGood post my Linda...kiss Andreja!
ReplyDeleteDear Linda, you are right about the colours used on the table and bench. Very nice combination. I didn't know what the words vague de paix written on the table means so I look it up online and it says "wave of peace" 👋🏻 ✌🏻🕊️
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely post. I loved the picture of the pigeon inside the metro station. Maybe it was tired of flying and wanted to catch a ride! :)
ReplyDeleteSo important: "No matter what the situation, remind yourself. "I have a choice." - Deepak Chopra"
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the quotes and photos.
Lately I've been studying the Taoist tradition of Eastern philosophy and I'm startled to see how consistent (and even identical) most of your suggestions are to its teachings. Good choices!
ReplyDeleteLife humbles you. As you grow older, you stop chasing the big things and embrace the little things. Alone, time, enough sleep, healthy food, long walks and precious time with your loved ones. Simplicity becomes your lifestyle.
ReplyDeleteThat says it all! Nice post, Linda and have a lovely day.
I love this quote - if you take care of small things, big ones will take of themselves. So true! ♥️
ReplyDeleteCats are the masterpieces of the universe 🐈⬛🐈🐾🐾

Hi Linda,
I see we have a lot in common.

ReplyDeleteGreat reminders to slow down and appreciate the little things and all the nature around us. I love to walk in the woods and soak in all the sights and sounds. Have a lovely week!
This post was like being on vacation! Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda, for sharing so many beautiful and inspiring thoughts. I especially liked the reminder to slow down and appreciate the little things in life. Sometimes they bring us the greatest joy. Have a wonderful week! 😊

May you always remember that you are more than your answers –
ReplyDeletethat your doubts are sacred, and your silence full of meaning.
May you see the flower without explaining it,
and use the machine without becoming like it.
May you not be afraid of the screen,
but neither get lost in it –
may it rather be a mirror that points you back to your own depth.
And if technology ever makes you feel superfluous,
then remember: you are not measurable.
You were not made to always be better and faster.
You are present, unique, and irreplaceable –
not because you know everything,
but because you can choose to love,
even when it is illogical.
Then move forward peacefully –
not faster, but deeper.
And let your humanity
remain the greatest technology of all.
I've been keeping a water bottle with me at all times during this heat.
ReplyDeleteAlways interesting and wise quotes.
ReplyDeleteI especially liked the one you mention about kindness.
Thanks for the great post. But this is my favorite this time. The smallest feline is a masterpiece. - Leonardo da Vinci
