Hello dear friends and fellow bloggers! A very warm welcome to you all! I really appreciate you taking the time to stop by! I hope that today's choices will bring a positive start to your week!

Did you know this about cats? Cats sleep for 70% of their lives. Female cats are typically right-pawed, males are typically left-pawed. Cats are more popular than dogs in America: 88 millions cats vs 74 million dogs. Cats make more than 100 sounds. Dogs only make 10.  Owning a cat reduces your heart attack risk by more than a third.

The following photos are all ones I took this month with my cellphone. This is the continuation and final photos from my last few blog posts, which I took at Jean Drapeau Park, on Ile Ste-Helene, St. Helen's Island in Montreal. This was the site where Expo 67 took place in 1967! You can click on each image to see a larger view.
You can visit the Expo 67 link to learn more.

Bonjour Montreal...Hello Montreal.

This is a shepherd tending his sheep.

Sheep.

A gigantic chair

Someone was driving this beautiful vintage car, I just had to take this photo!

This is called a 'balade' that you can take for free to tour the Jean Drapeau Park. It is free to take, but you must register to get a ticket first so that they can make sure the amount of people for each trip is sufficient. Once you board this train and the driver starts driving, there are loud speakers explaining the history of Montreal and the park! This information is in both French and English, you just need to listen.

It was such a gorgeous day, temperatures were 21 Celsius or upper 60's to low 70's, partly sunny, partly cloudy, with a gorgeous blue sky and a lovely breeze! My ideal and favourite type of weather for the summer!

The following video is a Just for Laughs Gag (Juste pour Rire in French) done here in Montreal.

  1. Good morning Linda! I hope you are having a good day and I wish you a great week ahead! I never thought of cats being right pawed or left pawed. How fascinating! I must observe my girls to check if they are right or left pawed though it might not be that obvious.

"I have P.M.A. (positive mental attitude) I'm positive, I'm mental and I know I have attitude! " This quote is absolutely hilarious! But has some truth because I fell that way sometimes.

Depression is a terrible thing, I have been through it and it helps to talk it out to someone who is kind and understanding. Indeed we are not alone as many people do and have experienced depression.

  2. That sheep driving that vehicle--OMGosh! That was amazing!
    Always a cheery post. :)

  3. I loved the part about cats. My little black cat, whom I didn't want at all but took for a year, has been a joy and stress/depression reliever. My younger daughter needed me to babysit her for a year while she taught in South Korea; when she returned, I was unwilling to give the cat back. That was 10 years ago. I thought I didn't want a cat at all but now we are madly in love with each other!

  11. The photos from Expo67 are wonderful!!!
Depression is no stranger to me either, and I enjoy your encouraging words and all the funny animals and everything else. The day also begins differently, namely more positively, more determined to do something during the phases of melancholy!!
Together we are stronger than you can imagine, dear Linda.
Have a good time , hugs Elke

  21. Dear Linda
As I type this, it's Monday morning here in the UK.
I am enjoying a cup of tea while both reading your post, and watching the videos. The highlight was 'Theme from a Summer Place by Percy Faith' lovely music and memories ... I've always liked this piece of music.
Thank you for a great start to the week.
Take care over there in Montreal.
    My good wishes.

    All the best Jan

  29. The strawberry smoothie sounds good, and easy!
If cats sleep 70% of their lives, I wonder about dogs . All mine seem to do is sleep, with occasionally bouts of zoomies and breaks for food!

  30. The memes were good. Yep, butterflies get the credit and caterpillars are icky. The park photos are good too.

  35. Such great positive quotes, kindness does go a long way. The cat info was curious, sometimes when our cats fight I wonder if they are going to give us a heart attack :) The park looks so nice and it that is great they have free transportation for those that can't get around to see everything very well.

    Saludos.
