A Holiday Mix
Hello dear friends and fellow bloggers! A very warm welcome to you all! Thank you so much for taking time to come and visit me here! I really appreciate it so much!
Here are today's selections, which I hope will brighten your day in some way!
In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you. - Deepak Chopra
If the world feels heavy, let this reminder be a counterweight. There are still people out there holding umbrellas for strangers. Still kids waving to garbage trucks. Still nurses trying their shoes in quiet hallways, choosing to show up. Kindness isn't gone. It's just not shouting as loud as some of the other stuff. - Karen Salmansohn
Stop. Unclench your jaw. Soften your brow. Relax your shoulders. Breathe.
Today's Blissful Forecast...heavy snowflakes of blessings, strong winds to blow your worries away, followed by warm caring hugs and snowflake kisses to put a smile on your face. :)
All of us, at some time or other, need help. Whether we're giving or receiving help, each one of us has something valuable to bring to this world. That's one of the things that connects us as neighbors - in our own way, each one of us is a giver and a receiver. - Mr. Rogers
Bright Drops
Time is the most valuable coin in your life. You and you alone will determine how that coin will be spent. Be careful that you don't let other people spend it for you. - John Dryden
The following photos are my own, which I took on my cellphone of Christmas decorations in parks and front of houses in Montreal. You can click on any image to see a larger view. The first two photos are in front of homes.
These last photos are all taken in a Montreal park. This is yet another park, different from the last two parks.

I enjoyed this so much, especially the "Sleigh Ride" song! Took me back to a wonderful sleigh ride we had in NH many years ago with our son and his family. It was a wonderful memory. Thank you for always sharing such positive thoughts with us. This was good. Happy New Year!
That's a gorgeous park! I love snow photos although I'm not a huge fan of the white stuff. It can stay in our mountains! :) Meeting meanness with kindness and calm with loudness can be difficult but also can diffuse stressful situations.
dear linda. morning greetings from kuala lumpur. it's monday again! i have a class today and now is the 12th week of semester for my university (remaining 2 weeks before my students start their revision week). anyway, i choose this quote : Sometimes you have to forget what's gone, appreciate what remains and look forward to what's coming next..... the key is to appreciate whatever we have today, indeed! sending virtual hugs from afar! take care and have a lovely week ahead!
A very wise thought: kindness hasn't disappeared; it endures, but it's very quiet. I really like the quote: "Sometimes you have to forget what's gone, appreciate what remains, and look forward to what's next." Thank you, Linda, for so many wonderful and kind thoughts, not just for the holidays but for every day :)
"In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you." - Deepak Chopra. Amen to that, and also breathe to tune into the parasympathetic nervous system.

ReplyDeleteI like the combination of lights and snow on that one bush.
ReplyDeleteI love the red and blue striped lights on the trees. And the blue lights on the tree amid the snow is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI love the videos about Craig the cat, and the squirrel home for Mama and her babies!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your cheerful and encouraging posts this year!
ReplyDeleteYou posted a cat that is a kindred spirit to Teddy Roosevelt who said to "Speak softly and carry a big stick."
ReplyDeleteMontreal is, evidently, a good place to walk about and take pictures.
Oh my goodness, that squirrel video made me tear up! How sweet!
ReplyDelete"Stop. Unclench your jaw. Soften your brow. Relax your shoulders. Breathe."
ReplyDeleteI'm such a jaw clencher, so that's a good reminder.
Awww... I loved the squirrel house!! You always find great wisdom and good giggles for us. Happy New Year!

ReplyDeleteSuch a comforting mix.
ReplyDeleteI loved the gentle reminders of kindness and stillness.
Thank you for putting this together, Linda.
The "some assembly required" snowman reminds me of a "some assembly required" fisherman's sweater I read about a couple years back.
ReplyDeleteYour post is always a pleasure to read. Thank you for sharing, Linda!
ReplyDeleteI liked your pictures you took on your own.
ReplyDeleteAlso: Your mindset determines whether you see obstacles or stepping stones.
I like the free snowman...lol
ReplyDeleteYour photos are nice of Christmas baste theme.
Enjoyed the videos too.
Happy New Year.
Very lovely selection today, thank you. My favourite "In a world where you can be anything, Be Kind"
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful that the cat walks the gal to the bus...so so sweet.
