A Holiday Mix
Hello dear friends and fellow bloggers! A very warm welcome to you all! Thank you so much for taking time to come and visit me here! I really appreciate it so much!
Here are today's selections, which I hope will brighten your day in some way!
In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you. - Deepak Chopra
If the world feels heavy, let this reminder be a counterweight. There are still people out there holding umbrellas for strangers. Still kids waving to garbage trucks. Still nurses trying their shoes in quiet hallways, choosing to show up. Kindness isn't gone. It's just not shouting as loud as some of the other stuff. - Karen Salmansohn
Stop. Unclench your jaw. Soften your brow. Relax your shoulders. Breathe.
Today's Blissful Forecast...heavy snowflakes of blessings, strong winds to blow your worries away, followed by warm caring hugs and snowflake kisses to put a smile on your face. :)
All of us, at some time or other, need help. Whether we're giving or receiving help, each one of us has something valuable to bring to this world. That's one of the things that connects us as neighbors - in our own way, each one of us is a giver and a receiver. - Mr. Rogers
Bright Drops
Time is the most valuable coin in your life. You and you alone will determine how that coin will be spent. Be careful that you don't let other people spend it for you. - John Dryden
The following photos are my own, which I took on my cellphone of Christmas decorations in parks and front of houses in Montreal. You can click on any image to see a larger view. The first two photos are in front of homes.
These last photos are all taken in a Montreal park. This is yet another park, different from the last two parks.

I enjoyed this so much, especially the "Sleigh Ride" song! Took me back to a wonderful sleigh ride we had in NH many years ago with our son and his family. It was a wonderful memory. Thank you for always sharing such positive thoughts with us. This was good. Happy New Year!
That's a gorgeous park! I love snow photos although I'm not a huge fan of the white stuff. It can stay in our mountains! :) Meeting meanness with kindness and calm with loudness can be difficult but also can diffuse stressful situations.
dear linda. morning greetings from kuala lumpur. it's monday again! i have a class today and now is the 12th week of semester for my university (remaining 2 weeks before my students start their revision week). anyway, i choose this quote : Sometimes you have to forget what's gone, appreciate what remains and look forward to what's coming next..... the key is to appreciate whatever we have today, indeed! sending virtual hugs from afar! take care and have a lovely week ahead!
A very wise thought: kindness hasn't disappeared; it endures, but it's very quiet. I really like the quote: "Sometimes you have to forget what's gone, appreciate what remains, and look forward to what's next." Thank you, Linda, for so many wonderful and kind thoughts, not just for the holidays but for every day :)
"In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you." - Deepak Chopra. Amen to that, and also breathe to tune into the parasympathetic nervous system.
You have snow and I don't! Beautiful photos again, Linda!!! You've shown a great and wonderful selection here! Thanks for sharing, have a lovely day. hugs Elke
I've read some of Deepak Chopra's books. Very insightful. The pic with the mound of snow to be assembled had me laughing! Have a beautiful week, Linda ♥
Dear Linda, the 7 photos taken by you are really lovely. Decorations in real snow definitely win over decorations in countries without snow. Montreal has so many beautiful parks. Two more days to 2026. Here's wishing you a very happy new year 🎊🕛
Dear friend Linda, indeed one time a very good looking blonde woman on a garbage truck waved at me as I greeted her :-) And yes, in Germany they still stand on the back of the truck! And I do have a ring that says: "Take a deep breath". Are you my twin? And yes. My friends kept encouraging me and I made it - despite I am oooold :-) And they said, we learn from one another, too. To the next! LOL on the enemies - I had 2 1/2 in my life. Actually one - the others were but dumb... And I forgave them. And yes. I think (....) I will try the test again - no promise, though. Shoot. I will be a giver. Onion cake from scratch! huhhhh - wish me luck! I´m a beginner still! Wonderful Christmas pics - am I glad we leave for sunny Perth once the happy night-lights will be gone. Always the saddest time of the year. Cats are so cute, sweet and smart. Thank you for sharing this, I share a tear or two with you. And the Squirrels! I am so sad "Peanut" is gone... Frosty brought us another cold, huh, my - I wish you a happy Monday, warm hugs and much love 😘
Hola Linda.
My pick today - All of us, at some time or other, need help. Whether we're giving or receiving help, each one of us has something valuable to bring to this world. That's one of the things that connects us as neighbors - in our own way, each one of us is a giver and a receiver. - Mr. Rogers. Thanks for bringing me a tour around Montreal's neighbourhood and parks with your own photos. Happy New Year 2026 to you Linda!
Happy Monday! I love your photos of the lights, such a delight to see. I admit that I'm glad Christmas is over, though, I really wasn't in the mood for it this year, though I had a good day anyway.
Take care out and about, especially if you are getting this messy freezing rain/rain mix that we currently are. (I'm only 3 hours or so west of you!)
Such great quotes to remind us of the power of choice and how we choose to view things. I love seeing all you Montreal winter wonderland photos! Thanks ...
Hello Linda, I hope you’re doing well. Thank you for sharing with us today. There were some real gems here especially this one, “Sometimes you have to forget what's gone, appreciate what remains and look forward to what's coming next”, which is really true and good advice. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
I really like the decorations and the snowmen. The ginger cat made both me and my daughter Marta laugh a lot, because he looks exactly like our Furianusz, who at home is the main creator of chaos. You share wonderful videos — the one about the squirrel family moved me deeply. Warm regards!
Linda, it is a shame that these festive holiday images can't last longer than a week 😟 Thanks for always providing some cheer in your blog posts. Sending all good wishes to you for a wonderful New Year 🎉❤️
Hello Linda Nice to see your photographs around Montreal, I do like how Santa seems to be waving cheerily at us :) Enjoy these last few December days, the month and the year have passed by so quickly. I wish you a peaceful, happy and healthy New Year.
I like the picture of free snowman but needs some assembly required :) I like your pictures of the lights showing through the snow, that is always so pretty. I was surprised how many people in our area are using those blow up decorations now. Hope your week is off to a good start!
Hello Linda, Great quotes! I love all the Christmas decorations. They look so pretty lit up at night. I wish you all the best in 2026, a happy and healthy New Year. Take care, have a great day!
Hope you enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Linda. As always, it is such a joy to stop in and read all of your uplifting memes. Wishing you a great week ahead and Happy New Year..
Hi Linda, Thank you for your kind comment. As you can see, I haven't been on my blog for quite a while, but that's due to my wife's serious illness. I want to wish you all the best in 2026. I also hope to start posting photos again sometime. Kind regards, Helma
As my world does feel a bit heavy right now, that second quote couldn't have come at a better time. Thank you for sharing another collection of wise and meaningful quotes and for the most welcome laughs! xxx
This is such a great place to find encouragement. I’m in a public place right now and can’t view YouTube videos, but they will be on my YouTube list. I am a caregiver and have learned that sometimes you really do have to accept a new reality and go forward from there. I hope that there are good things ahead that you never would’ve experienced otherwise
Hi Linda ... thx for visiting my site ... and I like all the positivity of your post ... and the pretty photos of Christmas in Montreal. Lovely. I hope you have a Happy New Year! Keep up the happy thoughts.
There's only 7 hours of 2025 left here. A quiet night in this household, wishing one and all peace and happiness throughout 2026. Thank you for all your uplifting quotes Linda.
"Being afraid of things going wrong isn't the way to make things go right." - I need to take this and learn, I constantly worry about things that haven't happened.

What a soothing collection of quotes and moments. The reminders about stillness and kindness land especially well this time of year, and your snowy Montreal photos add such a peaceful atmosphere. The squirrel house and the devoted cat walking the little girl to the bus both brought a smile. A lovely way to close out the season and step into the new year with a lighter heart.

ReplyDeleteI like the combination of lights and snow on that one bush.
ReplyDeleteI love the red and blue striped lights on the trees. And the blue lights on the tree amid the snow is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI love the videos about Craig the cat, and the squirrel home for Mama and her babies!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your cheerful and encouraging posts this year!
ReplyDeleteYou posted a cat that is a kindred spirit to Teddy Roosevelt who said to "Speak softly and carry a big stick."
ReplyDeleteMontreal is, evidently, a good place to walk about and take pictures.
Oh my goodness, that squirrel video made me tear up! How sweet!
ReplyDelete"Stop. Unclench your jaw. Soften your brow. Relax your shoulders. Breathe."
ReplyDeleteI'm such a jaw clencher, so that's a good reminder.
Awww... I loved the squirrel house!! You always find great wisdom and good giggles for us. Happy New Year!

ReplyDeleteSuch a comforting mix.
ReplyDeleteI loved the gentle reminders of kindness and stillness.
Thank you for putting this together, Linda.
The "some assembly required" snowman reminds me of a "some assembly required" fisherman's sweater I read about a couple years back.
ReplyDeleteYour post is always a pleasure to read. Thank you for sharing, Linda!
ReplyDeleteI liked your pictures you took on your own.
ReplyDeleteAlso: Your mindset determines whether you see obstacles or stepping stones.
I like the free snowman...lol
ReplyDeleteYour photos are nice of Christmas baste theme.
Enjoyed the videos too.
Happy New Year.
Very lovely selection today, thank you. My favourite "In a world where you can be anything, Be Kind"

ReplyDeleteThe "Free snowman...some assembly required" is hilarious! I love the photos you took at the park.
ReplyDeleteThe squirrels 🤎🐿🐿🐿❤️🥰
ReplyDeleteSo that's what Canada's IKEA look like; a pile of snow and you can assemble your own snowman 😀⛄️ And for free! You people really are the nicest 💕
I laughed at Free snowman...some assembly required.
ReplyDeleteYou've had plenty of snow by the look of it.
Dear Linda, the 7 photos taken by you are really lovely. Decorations in real snow definitely win over decorations in countries without snow.
