Hello dear friends and fellow bloggers! A very warm welcome to you all! Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to visit me here! I really appreciate you all so much!
If you haven't yet seen my regular Monday post, please click on this link: Anger, Forgiveness Thank you so much! :)
I spoke with my doctor today on the phone. She gave me the results of the two tests I had done in the last few weeks, the barium swallow (for my difficulty swallowing and chronic cough) and the blood test I had done last Wednesday.
In reference to the barium swallow test I did a few weeks ago, there were no abnormalities in the results.
Now my doctor has put me on a list to see a gastroenterologist, which could take up to 3 months.
As for the blood test results, my blood sugar is high...not dangerously so, but she wants me to be vigilant in what I eat.
In the meantime, she has emailed me a document for another blood test, which she wants me to go in October for. She wants to keep a close watch, because of my pre-diabetic condition.
That is the news for now, thank you so much for your prayers
and thoughts on my behalf.
Thank you for updating us. I hope you have an answer and a cure soon.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
São boas as notícias! Continuaremos na torcida e orações! beijos, chica
ReplyDeleteSending you good vibes as you continue to navigate your health issues.
ReplyDeleteLinda, it's not silent reflux, is it? (I have that and it can cause similar problems, and can lead to esophageal cancer if left untreated.) Perhaps that has already been considered and dismissed, I'm just tossing it out, based on my own experiences. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a case of no news isn't good news. Yikes. Hopefully they can figure out what's going on sooner.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update. Glad the barium swallow was ok. I wish it didn't take so long to get in to specialists!

ReplyDeleteI will definitely pray. ~hugs~ Trouble swallowing and a constant cough are concerning but perhaps easily resolved. ~fingers crossed~ Take care and thank you for the update.
ReplyDeleteI have been through the exact same thing with the chronic cough and reflux! Please read this because I coughed endlessly for FIFTEEN YEARS and it was horrible. The gastroenterologist couldn't solve the coughing problem. Even after intense surgery for GERD (look up nissin fundoplication), I still coughed and coughed. The ENT specialist told me I must have cough variant asthma, and he was laughably wrong -- I mean seriously, that was a reach, in reality he was just stumped. Eventually in frustration I did some internet searching and discovered that I might have laryngeal sensory neuropathy. I went to an allergist that specializes in chronic cough, and they confirmed that I was correct. So basically I diagnosed myself after years and years of coughing, sometimes so violently that I would throw up. I was so angry that all these doctors and specialists couldn't tell me what my problem was for so many years! The allergist prescribed Gabapentin and I've been on it for 10 years now and it has made a MASSIVE difference. This just goes to prove that when it comes to medical issues, you have to advocate for yourself! FYI, the GERD damaged my vagus nerve, that's why the coughing. The Gabapentin specifically helps with nerve issues. PLEASE ask your doctors to look up laryngeal sensory neuropathy. It seems that gastroenterologists have no idea about this condition but I can confirm that Gabapentin will probably help you a lot! :)
ReplyDeletethanks for your health update. yes, let's together be more conscious about the food that we eat daily and try to practice 'clean-eating'. I'm struggling too especially with sugar intake as food with sugar always looks attractive (desserts like cake etc)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update on your health. Glad to read that the doctor will keep a close eye on your situation.
ReplyDeleteAnimo con tu salud y si puedes toma canela con tu bebidas regula el azúcar en la sangre. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the updates. A good doctor does keep a good eye on you. As a person who enjoys cooking and recipes, I am not happy that all the advice I get is food related. But we have to do what we have to do, right?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the updates on your test. I am glad the doctor is keeping a close eye on you.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
祝你身體健康
ReplyDeleteI will keep you in my prayers. Thank you for the updates!
