Hello dear friends and fellow bloggers! A very warm welcome to you all! Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to visit me here! I really appreciate you all so much!
If you haven't yet seen my regular Monday post, please click on this link: Anger, Forgiveness Thank you so much! :)
I spoke with my doctor today on the phone. She gave me the results of the two tests I had done in the last few weeks, the barium swallow (for my difficulty swallowing and chronic cough) and the blood test I had done last Wednesday.
In reference to the barium swallow test I did a few weeks ago, there were no abnormalities in the results.
Now my doctor has put me on a list to see a gastroenterologist, which could take up to 3 months.
As for the blood test results, my blood sugar is high...not dangerously so, but she wants me to be vigilant in what I eat.
In the meantime, she has emailed me a document for another blood test, which she wants me to go in October for. She wants to keep a close watch, because of my pre-diabetic condition.
That is the news for now, thank you so much for your prayers
and thoughts on my behalf.
Thank you for updating us. I hope you have an answer and a cure soon.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
SĂŁo boas as notĂcias! Continuaremos na torcida e oraçÔes! beijos, chica
ReplyDeleteSending you good vibes as you continue to navigate your health issues.
ReplyDeleteLinda, it's not silent reflux, is it? (I have that and it can cause similar problems, and can lead to esophageal cancer if left untreated.) Perhaps that has already been considered and dismissed, I'm just tossing it out, based on my own experiences. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a case of no news isn't good news. Yikes. Hopefully they can figure out what's going on sooner.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update. Glad the barium swallow was ok. I wish it didn't take so long to get in to specialists!
ReplyDeleteHello Linda, many thanks for updating us on your health issues.
ReplyDeleteYour medical team seem to be keeping a close watch on you which is good.
Take care, I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
All the best Jan
Hopefully the Gastro Doc will figure it our for you so you can feel better.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update. Good that your doctor is keeping a close watch on you. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's good to get an update, Linda. And I'm glad that there were no abnormalities on your barium swallow test.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update. Hope all goes well and they can figure something out for you
ReplyDeleteI will definitely pray. ~hugs~ Trouble swallowing and a constant cough are concerning but perhaps easily resolved. ~fingers crossed~ Take care and thank you for the update.
ReplyDeleteI have been through the exact same thing with the chronic cough and reflux! Please read this because I coughed endlessly for FIFTEEN YEARS and it was horrible. The gastroenterologist couldn't solve the coughing problem. Even after intense surgery for GERD (look up nissin fundoplication), I still coughed and coughed. The ENT specialist told me I must have cough variant asthma, and he was laughably wrong -- I mean seriously, that was a reach, in reality he was just stumped. Eventually in frustration I did some internet searching and discovered that I might have laryngeal sensory neuropathy. I went to an allergist that specializes in chronic cough, and they confirmed that I was correct. So basically I diagnosed myself after years and years of coughing, sometimes so violently that I would throw up. I was so angry that all these doctors and specialists couldn't tell me what my problem was for so many years! The allergist prescribed Gabapentin and I've been on it for 10 years now and it has made a MASSIVE difference. This just goes to prove that when it comes to medical issues, you have to advocate for yourself! FYI, the GERD damaged my vagus nerve, that's why the coughing. The Gabapentin specifically helps with nerve issues. PLEASE ask your doctors to look up laryngeal sensory neuropathy. It seems that gastroenterologists have no idea about this condition but I can confirm that Gabapentin will probably help you a lot! :)
ReplyDeletethanks for your health update. yes, let's together be more conscious about the food that we eat daily and try to practice 'clean-eating'. I'm struggling too especially with sugar intake as food with sugar always looks attractive (desserts like cake etc)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update on your health. Glad to read that the doctor will keep a close eye on your situation.
ReplyDeleteAnimo con tu salud y si puedes toma canela con tu bebidas regula el azĂșcar en la sangre. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the updates. A good doctor does keep a good eye on you. As a person who enjoys cooking and recipes, I am not happy that all the advice I get is food related. But we have to do what we have to do, right?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the updates on your test. I am glad the doctor is keeping a close eye on you.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.

ReplyDeleteI will keep you in my prayers. Thank you for the updates!
ReplyDeleteOn the route to a diagnosis and treatment, they do need to rule various things out, so glad to hear your barium swallow test ruled out any abnormalities.
ReplyDeleteSo far so good, I guess. No abnormal findings is goid. However it would certainly be nice to find out what it is, not what it isn't.
ReplyDeleteLinda,
ReplyDeleteI am glad there were no abnormalities in the swallow test. Prayers you can get into the gastroenterologist speedily. Thanks for the update. Hugs.
Prayers. Waiting on tests and then the results is rough. Be good to yourself
ReplyDeleteMay
Hi Linda, so far so good, just the high sugar part. That is easy to control via your diet. I hope that your future tests will go well and that everything is all right. I am keeping you in my prayers!
ReplyDeleteWell, that sounds acceptable. Are your doctors English or French? I presume they are bilingual, but I do wonder.
ReplyDeleteHi John, the doctors here are bilingual. The English ones can communicate in French and the French ones can communicate in English.
DeleteIt's always a struggle dealing with health issues. Hope you are feeling better soon. I'm also trying to bring my sugar levels down and watching what I eat.
ReplyDeleteI would be tentatively optimistic.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the update. I'm glad you are getting good medical care. That means so much. ❤️
ReplyDeleteHope that you get an earlier appointment for the test!
ReplyDeleteIt takes forever to see a gastroenterologist here, too. They seem to be much busier than other specialists.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry you are stuck on the medical merry go round with no end in sight
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear but you are in good hands although September still takes a while but when it would be urgent you would have be helped earlier Take care ❤️
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are being proactive with testing etc. I need to be more careful with what I eat too but giving up sugar is not so easy when you have eaten sweet all your life. Progress is being made though.
ReplyDeleteIt's good the test was normal.
ReplyDeleteLinda, I'm keeping you in my thoughts. I know the waiting can be frustrating. In the meantime take good care of yourself đ
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry it takes that long for you to get an appointment. I really hope they'll be able to find out what the problem is.
ReplyDeleteso glad to hear the results were okay...
ReplyDeletetake good care and sending prayers for your continued health...
3 months?! Gosh, your health system is as bad as ours. Sending you warm hug sand much love - to health!
ReplyDeleteI hope you won't be kept waiting too long. Xx
ReplyDeleteCara Linda mi si dispiace che tua abbia qualche problema di salute. Il mio augurio Ăš che tu possa superarlo presto e bene.
ReplyDeleteUn saluto e un abbraccio

Hello,
ReplyDeleteI am glad your test results were good. Diet will help with the pre-diabetic results. It seems like it takes longer to see specialists here.
Take care, have a great day!
J'espÚre que ton médecin trouvera la solution à tes soucis au plus vite.
ReplyDeleteBon courage Linda.
You know, from a certain age on a lot of people suffer from a narrow throat, I can see that here. And also the coughing is "normal". My room neighbor has already consulted I don't know how many doctors and nobody can find what it is. Some think it can be allergy, some think it is stress. And a little bit of diabetes we have all, me included. Don't worry too much ! When you are in your third youth you get all kind of ouchies
ReplyDelete! important is, that you keep an eye on them ! So it's good what you are doing. I just had my eyes checked. Here in my residence you can live like at home and if you want to drink 10 bottles of wine per day, that's your business of course you have to behave correctly.
Thank you for the health update, Linda. I'm glad your doctor is following up with a referral to a specialist and a follow up blood test to monitor your blood sugar levels. I'm sure that you will be able to bring the blood sugar under control through diet and exercise.
ReplyDeleteJust keep an eye on your sugar and what you are eating. I am sure they have said what to avoid. I really hope they get to the route of the problem. Sound like you are in good hands Linda.
ReplyDeleteRead up on Dr Michael Mosley and how to reverse type 2 diabetes and stop it. He managed to sort himself out and reverse his. He was a wonderful man <3
Take care Linda and thanks for letting us know. :-D
Nothing bad...we hope for the better :)
ReplyDeleteAnna
Isn't it good to know your results are alright, and that's a while to wait for the test, but that's the way it is I suppose, Linda.
ReplyDeleteI've done the swallow evaluation - not fun. I wasn't drinking enough and the barium, let say, just sat there and slowed everything down. I know I'm not swallowing as good as I was last year, but I'm not doing another one of those evaluations. I hope they can give you some answers.
ReplyDelete...Linda, I wish the best on your health issues. Be well!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the update, Linda. I know it must be frustrating to not have a complete answer with regard to swallowing but at least they haven't found anything terrible. The blood sugar is manageable and it is good they are keeping an eye on it. Continued prayers that you get in to see a gastroenterologist sooner rather later.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful, heartfelt welcome! Your gratitude really shines through—it makes visiting your blog feel extra special. I’ve just clicked through to your Monday post and can’t wait to read your thoughts on anger and forgiveness!"
ReplyDeleteLinda vamos continuar orando por vocĂȘ, desejo uma feliz semana bjs.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your test came back good. Madeline
ReplyDeleteI am happy to hear that the swallowing test did not show any abnormalities. That's good news. But still, I know you need to know what is causing the difficulty. Praying that other tests will help them figure it out and how best to help you. Thank you for this update. TAke care my friend.
ReplyDeleteI guess no news is good news, but gee, it takes so long to get an appointment!! Praying you get answers and feel better soon!!!
ReplyDeleteGood to know everything is under control and being monitored ❤️
ReplyDeleteTake care đ Love Rita

ReplyDeleteHello Linda - I do hope that all will be revealed healthwise for you soon. I know my SIL followed a pre-diabetic diet put out by Diabetes Australia and it was effective in keeping in at bay for quite some time. Be kind to yourself - you are a beautiful person (I mean, I assume, you could be a bot, but you are a beautiful bot if that is the case)

Dear Linda, I completaly understand your situation because I had many gastro related problems lately and I ended for surgery because I did not take it seriously enough. It is good to see that you would like to get to the end of this in time and do not ignore it. I think of you and wish you all the best! Take care and Happy Easter :)
ReplyDeleteKeeping you in prayer with your health issues. Stay strong and positive! hugs, Kathleen
ReplyDeleteI hope the gastro doc will be able to help. It has to be terribly frustrating for you. I'm glad you are being proactive. Both Rick and I have been trying to watch sugar and carbs for the same reason. It's never fun!
ReplyDeleteEating oats is good for controlling insulin levels in your blood.
ReplyDeleteHopefully you will get some answers
ReplyDeletefrom the next doctorđ eating healthy is vitally important if diabetes is la concern đ
Thanks for keeping us updated.
ReplyDeleteIt must be frustrating to have to wait so long to get an appointment, but hopefully the gastro doctor will be able to give you some answers--or maybe you will be feeling better by then.đ
Thinking of you, my friend, and hoping you are feeling well, why you wait for yet another appointment. Hopefully you will get some answers.
ReplyDeleteYour update has such a steady, thoughtful tone, even with all the uncertainty you’re navigating. It’s a relief that the swallow test showed no abnormalities, and it’s clear your doctor is being diligent in keeping a close watch on things. The waiting for specialists is always the hardest part, but you’re doing exactly what you should by staying proactive and attentive to the changes in your health. Sending warm thoughts as you move through the next steps, and hoping the gastro appointment brings clearer answers and some peace of mind.
