These photos are my own, which I took on Monday, March 23rd. If you don't like snow or are tired of seeing it, please ignore this photo. Yes, we got snow here in Montreal over the weekend and it snowed on Monday as well, but in the latter part of the day. You can click on any image to see a larger view.

I took this selfie at a restaurant where I had breakfast. I do like to go out for breakfast around once a week. I don't smoke, drink alcohol, go to concerts, operas, movies or sporting events, and I don't go to casinos, play slot machines or buy lottery tickets or travel, so this is what I like to do when I go out! I took this photo through a mirror, as I find I am not as "shy" this way! LOL!  :)

I fell this morning, face first, on the sidewalk. No, not on snow or ice, although there is still some around, but this was on the pavement. There was absolutely no ice or snow anywhere near the spot that I fell. I must have tripped on a crack or something! Please don't worry, I am fine, thank God! I am showing a picture of the small injury I sustained in this fall. It is a bruise and scrape on my left knee. I was walking to get a blood test, which was just about a 20 minute walk, when I fell.

After my blood test, I took the bus to a shopping mall. I had a light breakfast at Tim Horton's in the food court. My breakfast was only around $6.50 Canadian, pretty good! I ordered two mini omelets (which are pretty small, but I don't eat a lot, so it was just perfect for me) The omelets I ordered were 1. spinach and 2. bacon, both were delicious! I had a small coffee with these mini omelets. After my breakfast, I did some shopping at one of my favourite stores, Dollarama! :)

The following video is a Just for Laughs Gag (Juste pour Rire in French) done here in Montreal. Enjoy! :)

Hero dog saves his tiny best friend from drowning (The Dodo)

  1. I'm sorry you fell! But glad you are ok except the scrape. That can happen so quickly. I like the selfie too!
Good thoughts on bravery and courage. I love the one with the kitten and the stuffed dog.

  2. Sorry about your fall, but I'm glad it's not worse.
"The only thing better than cat books is reading a cat book to a cat." Well, you know that I'm reading to mine ;-)

  5. Oh ouch on the fall and that scrape on the knee. I have done that exact same thing before and it hurts...both the knee and the pride! I'm glad you weren't hurt worse, and that you still managed to have a nice morning after your lab work. Those mini omelettes look good! I've never had that before...I mean, I make myself omelettes, but they don't look like that! That looks like fun! I love your selfie too. I'm waving back at you. I enjoyed all the quotes and pictures. I'm becoming more partial to the ones with cats, especially black cats since I have one and he's becoming more of a "member of the family" every day. Thank you for taking the time to find these and share them with us. I love the Beatle's Help, and Sonny and Cher "Baby Don't Go. I remember when those songs were new. I'm that old. LOl. Have a lovely day/week.

  9. Yikes, falling is never good. I've had a few of my own (most recently, New Year's Eve), so I sympathize. And don't worry, I don't get sick of seeing snow. It's a novelty as I never see it in real life. (It never snows here.)

  10. Oh dear, Linda! I am relieved you were not seriously hurt from the fall. It was unfortunate but all is well, thank God! I love your selfie, you looked happy and relaxed. Your breakfast sounds delicious! Can I say that you are very much a prefer-to-stay-at-home person? I am like that, I don't go out much either except when I am running errands. I love the quotes on courage and bravery. I find myself not so brave and not so courageous sometimes. LOL!

  11. Glad that your fall resulted in only a little scrape, that is good news. I enjoy a nice breakfast out once in awhile too. I didn't know Tim's has mini omelettes now. Guess I'm too fixated on donuts, LOL. That baby mouse video is cute, I'm going to send it to my sister.

I have been slammed this week and need to slow down and let go of some things.
I am sorry you fell. I hope your blood tests show up good. No more snow.

  15. I'm so sorry you fell. It is such a shock to your system, isn't it? It is such a far way down! I am glad that was your only injury and you were able to continue on your day! I have fallen a few times too and it is scary!!

  16. Hope you have not had too much bruising from your fall. Great post.

  17. Oh, no on the fall--but it looks and sounds like you're OK. I too love breakfast out and am crazy about omelets! Still snowy, my goodness. When will it be spring? I don't think we can be brave unless we're afraid and push our way through it. I like the Abdelnour quote. I'm sometimes not great about asking for help when I need it, but I'm getting better.

  18. morning greetings from kuala lumpur, although it is almost afternoon, and I have online class today at 1 pm. It's a relief to know that u are ok (so worried to read about lil unfortunate thing that happened to u, thanks God, u are ok!). i love all your snow pics and i even love more of your selfie! u look good and younger than your actual age! Dollarama sounds cute name-- is that a normal grocery store or a shopping mall? I hope one day i could travel to montreal, though it is very faraway from Malaysia. I'm travelling to europe in coming may for a worktrip and really praying and hoping that the war in middle east countries will stop soon as it really affects almost everyone in the world (domino effect of fuel hike)... take care dear linda!!

  37. "Try me" was my fav, dear friend Linda.
And yes, I had a customer who was "brave"... from a distance. Very sad...
Nice to see you :-) Oh, I am the same I say, I do not this, that.... Ingo than always says "do not explain and excuse yourself - enjoy!".
But, really, when I saw that red coat with the white dots I thought, nah, beautiful as it is, I HAVE a coat. Then I passed by a café where many people had breakfast as if it were the most normal thing to do.
I turned around and bought the coat - was from the season before and reduced and guess what: Many a person gave me a smile, some even stopped, one even grabbed my arm to say it made her happy - that so payed off!
So, who knows.. maybe you changed a person´s mind, too and something good was the result for many others, too.
OH NO! Glad you´re OK. And hmmmm, the omelettes look great.
Awwww.... the mouse. Now I miss mine again... And the hero-dog, wow. Warm hugs and much love to you and thank you for the smiles.

  97. Good morning, Linda.
Once again, thank you for all the quotes and images you share. Today one really caught my attention, as I didn’t know it before:

Be strong enough to stand on your own, wise enough to know when you need help, and brave enough to ask for it.

And the truth is, this is something that is often hard for us. Sometimes our pride blinds us and we see asking for help as something humiliating. But I like to look at it the other way around: asking for help makes the person we turn to feel useful and appreciated.

So, when we see it this way, both people benefit: the one who asks and the one who gives.

Thank you very much, and a kiss.

  98. What a powerful collection of quotes today, each one nudging in a slightly different direction but all circling back to the same truth about courage. I especially liked how the animal photos and little moments of humor softened the heavier reflections. Your snowy snapshot and cheerful selfie added such a warm, personal touch, and I’m relieved your fall left only a scrape. It’s amazing how quickly those moments happen, and just as amazing how you carried on with your day, treating yourself to breakfast and a bit of shopping. A gentle, uplifting post from start to finish.

  105. Hi Linda. Love the personal touch at the end of the blog with the picture of you to boot. Great about Horton's. We have a few of them here and I like to meet up with a friend for a chat and a cuppa. Tim likes their apple fritters. I just like the tea. We have two Horton's very close and more out further. There is one in particular that I love the most because of the great seat. Food, terrible at that location. Seating though, rocks.

  106. thanks for publishing all these positive messages. Replace 'why me' with 'try me' is a very good idea - need courage, practice or both. Trust you are recovering well ...

  111. Thank you so much, the photos and texts are wonderful again... "Try to stop me" :-)))
And I love the old songs...
It's very good that you went for breakfast after your little fall... you need to wash away the shock and the annoyance – preferably with a well-brewed coffee... Warmest regards!
And now I'm listening to the Beatles... good mood... Yes.
    All the best to you.

  112. I hope you are feeling better after your fall.
I found your quotes very interesting and inspirational. I have fear and am trying to be brave through it. I am undergoing immunotherapy after having 6 months of chemotherapy the second half of 2024 which didn't work as long as hoped for. Hopefully the immunotherapy will have better results, although it is hard going.

  119. Be careful Linda! At our age a light fall can cause a major fracture. I tripped in December, due to being clumsy and holding a laptop I protected that more than myself trying to break my fall... I had only light bruises as well, but now still a black fingernail to remind me.
