The following photos are my own, which I took on Thursday, April 23rd! The very first flowers that I came across here in Montreal...so far! They are tiny and I don't know what they are, but I wanted to take a photo of them. You can click on any image to see a larger view.
I don't have a car and I use public transit...bus and metro. I came across this device for electric cars on my walk. I wonder if this looks similar to any in your part of the world. Note how beautiful the sky was in this photo. It was a gorgeous day.
I have no idea what make of car this is, but I took a photo of it because it is unusual for me...it looks so different from other cars that I usually see!
I took this photo in a mall...the BMO stands for Bank of Montreal.
I took this photo in a shopping mall as well. David's Tea is a wonderful store that has fresh leaf teas! Their teas are delicious!
The following video is a Just for Laughs Gag (Juste pour Rire in French) done here in Montreal. Enjoy! :)

A flower does not think of competing. It just blooms. - Zen Proverb . I am adding this to the Bloom where you are planted theory I try and follow. That car is what Elon Musk calls a cyber truck I believe.
morning greetings from kuala lumpur! it's sunny day today here at my place, and i'm attending a meeting shortly. for today, i choose this quote: If you can't find the sunshine, be the sunshine.! i'm excited to see your photo of the tiny flowers...really cute and adorable ;) loving all your other pictures too ;) tomorrow is my birthday ;) but i'm working as usual this whole week :) take care dear linda
Such good ones again today! I love the one about flowers not competing and also looking up when it rains. I think the flower is Siberian Squill or wood squill. It's sometimes also called Star of Holland. We have it at our house, but it just finished blooming.
Oh my, you've seen a Cybertruck in the wild. Aren't they hideous? They don't get any better looking the more you see them. They just keep looking wrong. (I've seen quite a few now.)
Dear Linda, Beautiful quotes and photos. I like the quote of Monet very much. The blue flower is a Scilla sibirica I think. I have a lot of them here too. They are so lovely. Thank you for sharing your photos.
The artist painting of the puppy is just gorgeous, Linda. Memes/quotes are good as always. The poor mother duck waiting patiently and I had that record of Cat Stevens once.
What a wonderful collection of inspirations! The videos and music at the end are a perfect finishing touch. Sending you lots of joy from me and Fluffy!
Mother Nature is definitely all I need, well apart from my kitty kids and chickens. We have similar parking spots here for electric cars. Lucie Bilodeau is a very talented artist. A beautiful post today dear Linda.
That first cat looks more like wanting to dominate the world :D I liked the zen proverb - the sentence and the imagery! Success is a succession of failures with learning in the process. The paintings of Lucie Bilodeau are so lovely! Those blue flowers you photographed are so pretty! That unusual car must be the time machine of Dr. Emmet Brown ;) Have a wonderfl week!
The Tesla is illegal here for safety reasons. Car charging systems will be similar all over the world. There does seem to be an issue with types of plugs. The prank was funny.
Dear Linda, thank you once again for your selection of thoughts, images and humor, put together with such care. Today I'm staying with the quote. "The only difference between a good day and a bad day is my attitude." I like the idea, though it gives me some pause. There are hard days not because of a lack of attitude but because things happen, and putting all the weight on oneself can become exhausting. Perhaps the margin we have is real, but it's only part of what determines how the day turns out. A hug.
Those are some really powerful quotes, dear Linda, thank you! Your photos are beautiful; the car looks like something out of a movie... the videos are great too! Have a wonderful rest of the week in April! hugs Elke
The ocean sure got me thinking, dear friend Linda. My Mom said I´m a pessimist, I think I´m a realist but I should be thinking more like the happy quote and pic! Wish there was peace and joy to all indeed. Hihi, I am about buying flowers! We (of course) have a Lion on the loading stations for e-cars. The car looks like a Tesla? I´d love to visit David! LOL on the Spar-video (didn´t know you have that in Canada!). The crow is so cute! You know, wish people could all be like that, too. No matter what race, let´s be friends... Ans so nice neighbors came out for help there! Much love and warm hugs on the way.
Do more things that make you forget to check your phone >> For me it's get off my phone so that I can do more things! So easy to spend way too much time on the phone these days.
I love that puppy done by Lucie Bilodeau.
Here's to more flowers coming your way as spring advances!
Hello Linda, I loved all the quotes and the cute kitty and dog images. I am like Audubon following nature on my walks. Peace and joy to all! Take care, have a great day!
So sad that you still don't have many flowers over there, here in Europe we went through all the usual spring dynamics / from tulips and hyacinths and lilacs, and now to irises and lily of the valley.
Regarding you trying to quit sugar, I quit both gluten and sugar two or three years ago and I can tell you it is wonderful and possible to live like that, but it requires a bit of dedications. If you have Facebook you can ad me over there I am under my real name there Miroslav Bašić Palković, I post at least one sugar and glufree recipe there a week, so you might find it useful to switch yourself as my recipes are very simple. A few weeks ago I posted a number of sugar free muffin recipes that I invented LOL
Love your pictures. That's a Tesla "truck" (there are three in my neighborhood) and our charging stations are about three times that size. Hope you have a lovely day!
I only just noticed that you post a new blog every 2 days with all these beautiful pictures, images, and lovely texts. I am afraid I won't be able to read and look at them all at once, but I will check back regularly in between.
This blog also features wonderfully beautiful images with texts. Best regards, Helma
Some great pictures today. I have a white board on my wall in the shop, and years ago on it I wrote a quote from Satchel Page: Don't look back, something might be gaining on you.
Dear Linda, as so often, thank you for your wonderful and interesting collection of quotes. This time I especially like "Sometimes what we call failure is really just that necessary struggle called learning." And I'm so glad that spring is finally arriving in Montreal too! All the best from Austria Traude
Good evening, dear Linda. I hope that you are ok. I love all these cute animals and of course your excellent nature's photos. My best regards, my friend.
They're all beautiful; some of the videos are very sweet and sentimental, but I especially love those two proverbs—both the one about the flower and the one about how what you need to live is life itself. Have a wonderful week. Best regards.
Your timing is perfect. On this Monday, April 27th, 2026, many of us are looking for exactly that "sunshine" you mentioned. Whether it’s the wisdom of a Zen proverb or the simple joy of a duck rescue, you’ve given us all a reason to "forget to check our phones" for a few wonderful minutes.
Amazing site! I love the sayings you included in this post—a great life lesson. Your photos are also impressive; you notice the little things that others ignore. You're amazing. BożenA xx
We've been seeing more and more Tesla vehicles around here. I think the trucks look like toys. ~giggle~ Thank you for always brightening my day. Hugs and best wishes, my dear.
A more than wonderful collech ction*** Here my absolote favourites: * Each of us has a unique part to play in the healing of the world. * A flower does not think of competing. It just blooms. * The best thing one can do when it's raining is to let it rain.
The nice blue little flower in Germany is called "Blue Stars".
Many greetings and blessigs to you from Dori from the Bavarian Forest.
Sometimes we just need nature, I know it calms me and makes me thankful! I believe that car is a cyber truck made by Tesla. Isn't it fun to see the first flowers blooming. We had some wild voilets growing in our yard a couple weeks ago, I picked them before hubby did the mowing and I have dried them so I can put them in my junk journal :)
Definitely do more things that make you forget to check your phone, or put your phone away and don't bother with it. I love Mull of Kintyre. I don't know what it means but I still love it.
I'm with Janie. Definitely do more things that make you forget to check your phone. I made that goal last week and find it can be a challenge. But I vow to win. Thanks for commenting on my blog. My doxies have crossed the bridge but I just cannot change my heading. Sandie
I see the BMO sign on a building I often see and wonder why it's here on the west coast. There's probably a good explanation. I truly believe that a walk in nature is very helpful 💗. Have a good week.
Dear Linda, thank you for your lovely photos. No more snow 😔 I found online that perennial Scilla are the first wildflowers to emerge in Montreal, signalling spring
Dear Linda, yes, that electric car charger is similar to what I recently seen in my city. Using electric cars decreases fuel cars carbon footprint so it is for green earth. But best is like you, to use public transport which is the best for our green earth
Hello LInda, Nice all these images. Great that image of Wildlife Conservation Society. And great picture of that car. Nice movies, funny and so cute with the ducks.
Such a peaceful and refreshing post. I really love how it celebrates the simple beauty of nature and reminds us to slow down and reconnect with the world around us.
We have loads of car charging points but I live in a large urban metropolitan area. We don't have those cars over here but I think its an Elon Musk vanity project.
Teď by ji měli v bárce odtáhnout do domovských vod. Katka
Great photos. No clue about the car either, looks very space age modern! Great quotes too :-D I like this one: "Do more things that make you forget to check your phone" So true!
too many great quotes This is one of the ones "A flower does not think of competing. It just blooms. - Zen Proverb" We have these charging poles as well and we saw one of these cars recently A tesla cybertruck my husband says.
Perfect timing for me since I was out camping and saw lots of nature--birds, water, flowers and scenery. It was so enjoyable! That's a Tesla "truck"--a ridiculous looking vehicle, in my opinion.
What a lovely post. Your seasonal/spring changes in Montreal look similar to how it is here in New Hampshire. And that Claude Monet quote is one of my favorites. Hope you're having a great week.
Such wise thoughts that you should remember to implement yourself. Thank you for commenting on my blog. This shows how much the world is getting smaller by blogs and other social media. That car you photographed seems to be a Tesla. It is the ugliest car in the world! A really wonderful spring to you!
Thank you for your recent instruction about how to view a blog post in its entirety on a cell phone. I followed your instructions and have to say I am, frankly, embarrassed that something that's been there all this time has been overlooked by me!
That dirt road through the trees is exactly what I need today...So peaceful for sure. We have several of those cars in our area...I think they look so very odd. I do know that they are very costly, but I think I will have to pass on buying one...I prefer my simple car.
I like the quote about you can't stop the rain, but you can carry an umbrella, and also the Father and Son song. And the little blue flowers in the picture you took are so pretty, and today's Just for Laughs video had me in stitches. I think that must be one of the funniest I've seen so far.
Father and Son! Haven't heard that one in a long time...great song! Thanks for sharing and bringing back some fun memories of the friends who first shared it with me!!
Your mix of quotes, photos, and little moments creates such a peaceful pause in the day, and I love how you weave together inspiration with glimpses of your walk, from the tiny blue flowers to the bright sky and even that unusual car, all of it reminding me how grounding it feels to slow down and notice the small things that make the world softer and more beautiful.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit me and for your comments. Please use words and not only emoticons. All comments are moderated to deter spam, so for this reason comments will not appear immediately.

God bless.
"Father and Son" is one of my all-time favorites.
ReplyDeleteFirst thing I noticed in your own photos is the color blue. That's when I realized blue is a very pretty color since I love green.
ReplyDeletemorning greetings from kuala lumpur! it's sunny day today here at my place, and i'm attending a meeting shortly. for today, i choose this quote: If you can't find the sunshine, be the sunshine.! i'm excited to see your photo of the tiny flowers...really cute and adorable ;) loving all your other pictures too ;) tomorrow is my birthday ;) but i'm working as usual this whole week :) take care dear linda

ReplyDeleteFavorite is the Zen wisdom, and as others have pointed out, it's a Tesla.
ReplyDeleteMorning greetings from Kuala Lumpur Linda...Agree!!!too much looking backwards is bad for progress...
ReplyDeleteSo many great quotes today, but I love esp. this one: the only difference between a good day and a bad day is my attitude.
ReplyDeleteOh my, you've seen a Cybertruck in the wild. Aren't they hideous? They don't get any better looking the more you see them. They just keep looking wrong. (I've seen quite a few now.)

ReplyDeleteIt is funny to realize I’ve never owned a ginger cat. Now I want one. 🤣

ReplyDeleteyou did have very very blue skies!! Gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteMull of Kintyre!! I love that song so very much. It makes me cry and I don't know why, but it's happy tears.
ReplyDeleteExcellent theme Linda!
ReplyDelete..."You can't stop the rain, but you can carry an umbrella. Preparation beats complaining." Amen to this! Life without nature would be rather bleak.
ReplyDeleteGood morning and happy week to you. Maybe I will get a woodsy walk this week which sometimes is all that we need.

I've seen a few of the Tesla cars and they are indeed ugly.
ReplyDeleteYes, let it rain, that's all you can do. I really liked these.
Don't look back...you/re not going that way! Such great advice and yet I will find myself doing just that, looking back at the 'what-ifs'. jsmh
ReplyDeleteBeautiful nature inspirations, Linda! As a tea-drinker I would definitely visit the tea shop!

Such a peaceful and refreshing post. I really love how it celebrates the simple beauty of nature and reminds us to slow down and reconnect with the world around us.

Most of the time my soul just needs a woodland walk. ☺️
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's a Musk vehicle of some sort. No further comment on that!
Have a great week! ❤️
Love the quotes, especially about ocean, bird and men, flowers...♥️
ReplyDeleteNature is my happy place. I spent last weekend at a nature reserve near us volunteering, and I got the chance to share nature with so many folks!
ReplyDeleteSplendide le foto dei gatti!
ReplyDeleteWe have loads of car charging points but I live in a large urban metropolitan area. We don't have those cars over here but I think its an Elon Musk vanity project.
ReplyDeleteNice quotes and images. I always loved Cat Stevens ever since I first heard him on the radio. Nice song and memory. Have a wonderful day, Linda.
Teď by ji měli v bárce odtáhnout do domovských vod. Katka
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. No clue about the car either, looks very space age modern! Great quotes too :-D I like this one: "Do more things that make you forget to check your phone" So true!
ReplyDeleteThe car is a Tesla.
ReplyDeleteI like the "don't look back" quote. Something we all need to remember.
too many great quotes This is one of the ones "A flower does not think of competing. It just blooms. - Zen Proverb" We have these charging poles as well and we saw one of these cars recently A tesla cybertruck my husband says.
ReplyDeletePerfect timing for me since I was out camping and saw lots of nature--birds, water, flowers and scenery. It was so enjoyable! That's a Tesla "truck"--a ridiculous looking vehicle, in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI don't care for those cars!
ReplyDeleteI love the paintings by Lucie Bilodeau! Have a grand one, Linda.
ReplyDeleteI still like looking at clouds to see if I find a shape to them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post. Your seasonal/spring changes in Montreal look similar to how it is here in New Hampshire. And that Claude Monet quote is one of my favorites. Hope you're having a great week.
ReplyDeleteSuch wise thoughts that you should remember to implement yourself. Thank you for commenting on my blog. This shows how much the world is getting smaller by blogs and other social media. That car you photographed seems to be a Tesla. It is the ugliest car in the world! A really wonderful spring to you!
ReplyDeleteInteresting post
ReplyDeleteKauniita ajatuksia, syvällisiä mietteitä, paljon opiksi otettavaa ja evääksi omaan elämään. Kiitos Linda.
ReplyDeleteVideot olivat hauska kevennys :)
In Europe, electric car stations are shorter.
ReplyDeleteThat quote about some people being like clouds is too funny! Yes, that's a Tesla cyber truck.
ReplyDeleteI especially loved the Zen proverb about flowers not competing.
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday, Linda!
OMG. That story about Darling the crow is so beautiful and so very sad.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your recent instruction about how to view a blog post in its entirety on a cell phone. I followed your instructions and have to say I am, frankly, embarrassed that something that's been there all this time has been overlooked by me!
ReplyDeleteThat dirt road through the trees is exactly what I need today...So peaceful for sure. We have several of those cars in our area...I think they look so very odd. I do know that they are very costly, but I think I will have to pass on buying one...I prefer my simple car.
ReplyDeleteOlá querida Linda!
ReplyDeleteBelíssimas frases inspiradoras.
Que Deus te abençoe
I like the quote about you can't stop the rain, but you can carry an umbrella, and also the Father and Son song. And the little blue flowers in the picture you took are so pretty, and today's Just for Laughs video had me in stitches. I think that must be one of the funniest I've seen so far.
ReplyDeleteFather and Son! Haven't heard that one in a long time...great song! Thanks for sharing and bringing back some fun memories of the friends who first shared it with me!!
ReplyDeleteI like the do more things so you forget about your phone - more people should subscribe to that!
ReplyDeletethe weather looks amazing! and yes, electric car charging stations are becoming more common here too...
ReplyDeleteYour mix of quotes, photos, and little moments creates such a peaceful pause in the day, and I love how you weave together inspiration with glimpses of your walk, from the tiny blue flowers to the bright sky and even that unusual car, all of it reminding me how grounding it feels to slow down and notice the small things that make the world softer and more beautiful.
