Simplicity, Tranquility
Hello dear friends and fellow bloggers! A very warm welcome to you all! Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to visit me here! I really appreciate you all so much!
Just a special note...on Blogger, I have noticed that there is a delay in new blog posts in that they don't appear right away in the NEWS READER. However, the post will appear immediately on your blog itself at the time it is published. This means that your readers and followers will not know that your new post is up until between 30 minutes to a few hours later, even several hours later when it finally appears in the Blogger Reader...if it even appears at all. This doesn't happen all the time, but I just wanted to let you all know that it is something I have noticed.
And just to let you all know, I schedule my new posts to publish on Sundays and Wednesdays between 6:30 and 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. You should see my new posts by checking my blog at the above-mentioned times. I only post on Mondays and Thursdays. Thank you so much.

I found this pothole in the parking lot of a shopping mall. Yes, Spring is a beautiful season, but there are hazards that come with it...potholes, flooding, just to name two! So please be careful when you walk, sometimes you may not see a pothole, and you can twist an ankle or worse! This happened to a woman here in Montreal that was on the news, she got hurt pretty badly.
I took this photo of the sign outside of one of my favourite housewares stores here in Montreal. Hart! The sign is in French, as pretty much all signs here in Quebec, so I will translate it for you all so that you can understand. "maison en gros" means "in bulk store"
They get their items directly from the manufacturer, which transfers to savings for customers. A great store!
I came across a little sparrow who had a nest in the top part of a bus shelter. How I found him? He was chirping away! So adorable! You can see the nest on the upper middle part of my photo and you should also be able to see the sparrow as well! (by clicking on this picture to see a larger view)

I love today's theme - Simplicity and Tranquility! Keeping things simple, whatever they may be and having tranquility is a blessing. I dislike complication and chaos! Oh, love your photos of the pretty and colorful flowers! I also love ferns. They are beautiful!
I appreciated the ones on simplicity. So true - I think our culture has gotten so caught up in stuff, and living more simply really is better. Potholes are crazy here too, winter weather followed by lots of rain is not good for the roads or parking lots.

A lot of today's memes and quotations resonate with me! I have embraced the values of "voluntary simplicity" pretty much all my life. And yes, "letting go" is a big part of it or not becoming attached in the first place to things that don't matter. (P.S. I hope Blogger fixes its software soon so that we receive timely notification of new posts once again!)

I love those plants! They remind me that it's time to look for annuals. However, it's so hot here right now that I don't feel like spending too much time in the sun. I would say that we learn more from failure than we do from success although it's a painful lesson.

Seeing your pothole, I had to smile. You are not alone! My street is terrible (they finally patched it, but the patching is so bumpy that I almost wonder why they bothered!). It's like that everywhere here and a killer on everything from cars to walkers. People weave around them in the car (looks like everyone is intoxicated, but they're just doing "the weave." Yeah a lot of posts not showing for me either. Great photos. Potholes are everywhere in Scotland sadly and paths are unsafe to walk on too! Good quotes. No amount of worrying can change the outcome and try to live your life without regrets. They don't change anything!

I love the reminders about simplicity. My husband and I were having a discussion about when we were newly married and had so little, and how different and easy things seemed. Good times.
One thing I have noticed with blogger is I use to get email updates on comments on my blog and I don't get them anymore, I tried googling to figure out how to get it back but nothing has worked :( A lot of these post remind me that I need to get rid of some things that I just don't use anymore, it is so hard for me to part with things, I think I may need them sometime later. Yes potholes are terrible this time of year and it seems it is taking them longer to get to them. that display in the mall is just gorgeous and we have a grocery store that always has birds building nests outside their door every year, you just hope you won't get hit by anything when going in :)

Trying to be culturally sensitive was a bit of a fail, but it does show people want to do the right thing.

ReplyDeleteI love those plants! They remind me that it's time to look for annuals. However, it's so hot here right now that I don't feel like spending too much time in the sun. I would say that we learn more from failure than we do from success although it's a painful lesson.

ReplyDeleteSeeing your pothole, I had to smile. You are not alone! My street is terrible (they finally patched it, but the patching is so bumpy that I almost wonder why they bothered!). It's like that everywhere here and a killer on everything from cars to walkers. People weave around them in the car (looks like everyone is intoxicated, but they're just doing "the weave." ReplyDeleteYeah a lot of posts not showing for me either. Great photos. Potholes are everywhere in Scotland sadly and paths are unsafe to walk on too! Good quotes. This one reminded me of my dad "No amount of anxiety can change the future. No amount of regret can change the past." He would say something similar to me. No amount of worrying can change the outcome and try to live your life without regrets. They don't change anything!

Yeah, there does seem to be some weird stuff going on behind the scenes for Blogger. Don't know if this will be a blessing or a curse, since the platform has seemed to be rather ignored recently by developers. We shall see.

One thing I have noticed with blogger is I use to get email updates on comments on my blog and I don't get them anymore, I tried googling to figure out how to get it back but nothing has worked :(
ReplyDeleteA lot of these post remind me that I need to get rid of some things that I just don't use anymore, it is so hard for me to part with things, I think I may need them sometime later.
Yes potholes are terrible this time of year and it seems it is taking them longer to get to them. that display in the mall is just gorgeous and we have a grocery store that always has birds building nests outside their door every year, you just hope you won't get hit by anything when going in :)
