The following photos are my own, which I took on March 16th at a delicatessen. Yes, I had breakfast out on that day...smoked salmon, 2 sunny side up eggs and very little potatoes, coffee and water. I really don't eat much but I try my best to eat healthy.
Warning....these photos are selfies, which I took in two different ways. The first one I took through a mirror and the second normally. You can click on any image to see a larger view. Please note that I am camera shy and not photogenic! A friend of mine whom I showed these photos to likes them and says I look very good. So I decided to share them with you all.

This last, but certainly not least, photo is of my beloved father. I was very close to my father, he was a strict, but very kind and gentle, caring man! This is the last known photo of my father before he died. This photo was taken in June, 1984, two months before my father passed...of a heart attack. He was only 64. I was only 27. I took this photo from a hospital ID card that he had, and I have kept this all these years. I still miss him. Please note that he had very little gray hair at 64!

The following video is a Just for Laughs Gag (Juste pour Rire in French) done here in Montreal! Enjoy!  :)

Max the cat cruises into the hearts of senior citizens (Aging Untold)  :)

Wild dolphin knew exactly how to ask people for help (The Dodo)

Flipper 1960s TV series (intro and outro theme songs)
(Our Nostalgic Memories) I thought this was a lovely song.

  1. Those are excellent photos of you! I always wonder what other bloggers look like. It helps me to put a face with a name/blog. Your father has a very kind face. I'm not a patient person, nor always calm but I work on it every day. And I am kind at least!

  2. La paciencia es una gran virtud. Te mando un beso.

  3. Hello Linda! Thank you for showing your selfie. You have a kind and calm look. A friendly face I would say. I love the blouse that you wore in the selfie. Your breakfast sounds like something I would enjoy as well. Your late dad had a kind and bright smile. He does not look like a strict man at all. It's been a year since my dad passed and he too had a kind smile. Well, I have to get cracking with my work and I do hope that like your first quote "Today is going to be my peaceful day". I hope that it is for you too. Amen!

  4. Dear Linda - I love the photos of you! I think you look very nice and I'm glad you shared them. I liked seeing your dear Dad too. He has a very kind face.
My Dad passed away almost 3 years ago. He was 92 so we had many good years together, but I miss him too.

  9. I'm so glad you shared your selfie. I like to visualize the blogger when I read a post so until now I couldn't imagine you. You look lovely. Also your Dad. How great to have such good memories of him.
( PS I need more patience because I'm by nature not at all that way).

  11. I love going out to breakfast. And you just explained why one should have many pictures taken of them, even if they don't feel like they should. You never know when it'll be your last. (My mother hated having her picture taken, too. But my brother managed to get enough, so we have some of her now that she's gone.)

  12. I do struggle with patience! What a great photo of you and of your dad, too!

Note the guy with the wild hair glasses gives nothing away as the woman shaves.
I enjoyed rehearing the Flipper music, even though it sounds corny these days.

  20. To answer your question on my Wordless Wednesday post, that is a picture of how a battery I ordered from Amazon was delivered. Just that little battery in that big box, rattling around with no padding or anything.

  45. I love the "if we learn to enjoy waiting, we won't need to wait to enjoy" - all of these are good! Flipper! Oh, I haven't heard that theme song for a long time. Miss good ol' T.V. shows.

  46. Patience is something i don't always have a lot of. I think the photos of you are very nice. I'm glad you shared them.
    Nice photo of your dad.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Dear Linda, today I definitely stay with this one: “Being a good person does not depend on your religion, status in life, skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how you treat others.”

It reminded me of a verse from the Gospel of Matthew that expresses that same idea: “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.”

I also see that you have shared several quotes about patience, and they are very good. We all need patience. It helps to calm things down, to put our uncertainties a little in order, and not to make worse what is already difficult enough. It does not always solve everything, but many times it prevents things from becoming even more unsettled.
And you look wonderful in the photo.

    A hug.

  98. Your reflections on patience feel especially grounding today. I like how you gathered so many perspectives, each one touching a different facet of what it means to slow down, breathe, and respond with intention. Your photos add such a warm, personal note to the post, and seeing your father’s picture alongside your own makes the whole entry feel deeply human. His gentle expression explains so much about the kindness you share here.

  109. I certainly hope that today will be my peaceful day!

  110. The quote by Fulton Sheen is sooo true! Patience is a willing choice to wait for the right time to act, the right way to act, and the right principles. Put that way, it should appeal to more people who struggle with the word, “Patience.”

Thanks for including the quote by Rick Warren. He is one of my favorite pastors that I follow, a pastor of great wisdom who has helped me greatly.

Your father was a very handsome man. You inherited his good looks!

  114. Hello, Linda! I am finally getting around to reading more posts from this past week, and I am so happy you let me know about this one in particular. I LOVE seeing the "selfie" of you, and also the very dear picture of your father. I know we most likely will never be able to meet in person, (unless you want to come to Florida to excape winter sometime!), so it is really nice to actually see you 'face to face' here. I enjoy your posts so much...they show that you put a lot of extra effort into finding just the right pictures/quotes to go with your theme, and they are always so encouraging. I especially love the cat pictures, now that I have become a 'cat mom". LOL. I am learing so much about cats now, things I never knew before, and it is very enlightening! Thank you again for writing and sharing more about yourself. I hope you are feeling better also. have a blessed rest of your weekend and a new week beginning tomorrow. Happy Springtime!
